December 23, 2022Dnf. This all seems very juvenile and awkward. I see what the author was going for, and maybe she gets there later in the book, but I can’t get myself to continue. These Carter Mahoney wannabes need to stop. Maybe I'm just in a mood...🤷♀️

This was an okay read! I wouldn’t personally classify it as dark romance, it’s more of a romance with dark themes, but that’s just my opinion. I’d recommend this if you’re dipping your toe into dark romance or looking for something a bit lighter after reading something heavier.
I went back and forth on my rating, initially leaning towards 2 stars but settling on 2.5 ⭐️ because I did enjoy the author’s writing style.
It’s a short read, and I really liked that it started in Wolfe’s POV. However, the “enemies to lovers” aspect wasn’t quite what I was hoping for. It felt more like Nicole pretending to hate Wolfe while he was utterly obsessed with her. I wanted more genuine tension actual hatred and disgust that makes them struggle with their attraction.
Given the length, their relationship progressed quickly, moving from “enemies” to “I can’t live without you” in no time. This wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, but I did miss that slow burn of real animosity turning into passion.
The writing style kept me engaged, and I was impressed!
✨ Side Characters ✨
We’re introduced to the other members in the book, but Jagger barely made an appearance 🤔 maybe one or two scenes at most. I’m not sure if this was intentional, as I haven’t read the rest of the series.
Michelle, Nicole’s “best friend,” was not my favourite. Absolutely not a fan of hers.
The author did a great job making the side characters presence felt without overdoing it. Just enough for the reader to start to form an opinion.

Yeah that isn’t gonna cut it for me.
This book ends in such a weird spot. It’s a cliffhanger without really being a cliffhanger — like it could end there, but it definitely feels like it shouldn’t. Idk that annoys me.
But I’m getting ahead of myself. Wolfe is a dick. There’s really no nicer way to put it. Does he have reasons for being dickish? Yeah he does, and they’re solid reasons. Like a typical teenager he takes his issues out on people that don’t deserve it and we’re there to watch it unfold.
This is a dark romance. Let’s make that clear. It’s meant to be dark - so if that isn’t your thing then don’t read it and be a turd m’kay. There’s no reason for that. Wolfe isn’t a good guy, he’s not supposed to be. So check the trigger warnings and proceed with caution.
Now - I did enjoy the depth of the characters. Linzvonc has a way of doing that in her books. I really don’t know how she manages it. We get so much from both Wolfe and Nicole and it’s really amazing. Getting into the head of someone as broken as our MC and watching the why behind it unfold is really something. It’s great. It really is.

I liked the start of this story... and that's about it.
Oh, I also liked how Hunter and Kaden were really good friends to Wolfe even though he was never good to them! They both supported and pushed Wolfe to speak up to Nicole and push them together.
-Nicole was a complete doormat, and a terrible friend. Regardless of how it started she never should have carried on because 1 he's your bff's ex and 2 she still loves him! She was so dumb in her thought process it was hard to read her POV. The literal ONLY time I liked her was when she told Wolfe what she needed from him (emotions) and when he refused she walked away. I was SO PROUD!! For about 3 or 4 paragraphs when she took him back.
-Wolfe is in NO WAY a hero, antihero or ANYTHING close. He's a toddler that has reached puberty. He is mean and spiteful until he gets his way and when he can't he throws tantrums (i.e the classroom he destroyed). He is also not a good friend, so besides his looks which I honestly cant even remember.. WHAT exactly was the draw?! Nothing he did was selfless, even helping his mom wasn't really for her it was to soothe his conscience.
-Michelle was THE WORST bff I've ever seen written that wasn't actively out to sabotage the relationship. If your boyfriend is TERRIBLE to your best friend WHY are you still with him? Then when you break up you drag your friend with you out of a pathetic need to stalk him for scraps. Pathetic. How she decided she HAD to tell Nicole her big reason for avoiding her.. LAME and selfish.
Usually in "dark high school" books the kids basically run things while the parents hang in the background, but the kids make the mess and clean them up.
This was NOT that. The kids ACT like they run everything, spoiler alert, they don't. Nicole's dad makes the drug charge disappear. Wolfe's dad makes the debt (which wasn't even Wolfe's to payoff) go away. The adults in this book were a joke.
In no way did I enjoy this book and I regret spending money on it. But there weren't any errors, so two stars, and that's generous.

It's a good book. If you like bully high school romance. Wolfe has some issues and loves to bully his step sister. Nicole is some what whining. Things happen and they start to have feelings for each other. Overall good

December 29, 2022Dnf. Someone recommended this book, I have decided not to waste money on books I’m unsure of and to try to read the sample first. I couldn’t get past page 2 of the sample. The writing felt very juvenile and weird. I couldn’t really get into the story. I’m also realizing the books I really connect with I’m not struggling with the sentence structure or word choice early on. Also trying to mark off what books I’m dnf so I’m not confused weeks or months later when people are singing a books praises

Oooh this book is something else. Wolfe is a dark, bully, stepbrother romance and there is definitely some content that could be considered triggering.
Wolfe is not someone I would consider a hero by any means. He’s a possessive, controlling, over the top, jealous bully, and the very definition of anti-hero. Nicole is shy, compassionate, and loves fiercely.
When these two meet they don’t get along, but slowly they start to understand each other and their hatred transforms into a love so fierce. These two are characters with a lot of depth which makes it hard to understand them at first, but as the book goes on you understand the characters are the way they are.
Rating: 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Spicy & Taboo 😏
I devoured this book in a few hours 🙈 I just couldn’t put it down..
Wolfe is so grumpy and such a bully & likes nothing more than to tease he’s step sister Nicole, you can’t help but love him.
Nicole was sweet & innocent but after being blackmailed by her step brother Wolfe well let’s just say it’s so spicy 🌶️
The growth of both MC's was fantastic and the steamy scenes were 🥵

I love a good step bro forbidden romance. But add in the bully aspect and sprinkle on some secrets and scorching hot, you have found a perfect book. Wolfe was so broody and such a bully but his personality and fire roped me in. Nicole was innocent but after being blackmailed by her step brother, she felt a forbidden attraction to him. The spice was spicyyyyy! Definitely recommend this to anyone.

Holy hotness
This book was pure fire. I loved to see the relationship build between Wolfe and Nicole. The book had great subplots as well. I’m a huge fan of both bully and stepbrother books and Wolfe checked both of those boxes for me. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

I really enjoyed the plot, it's was definitely bully romance, but it did move a bit fast from the bully romance to lovers. I would have lived a bit more a build up. A bit more of that bully dynamic. I loved Wolfe's tortured character, he is the grumpy kind, and I am all here for it. Apart from being a little too fast paced for me I enjoyed it.

I loved every single bit of it.
You really want to dislike some characters, but you end up loving them, just because of who they are.
I also enjoyed the writing style of this author. It’s captivating and entertaining.

Who doesn't love a bully stepbrother, right? Wolfe is all of the dark things I wanted from his character, and his obsessive connection with Nicole made this a really steamy read. I honestly couldn’t put it down. I definitely recommend giving this a read. I can't wait to read the next book and Kaden’s story.
If you love taboo romance you will absolutely love this story. His dad marries Nicole’s mother he sees something and blackmails her but in the process so many different twists and turns happen and no matter how you want to hate Wolfe, you will end up falling in love with him and feel sorry for him when you realise why he’s the way he is , no matter how many times Nicole’s told to keep away from him they both have a strong pull towards the other and can’t keep away.

I like to read while I do dishes sometimes. When I have my iPad propped up reading this, my lords. I almost had to put my head under the faucet. 🥵
I pictured Wolfe as the guy who stood in the corner with the cigarette just hanging there in his lip, wearing a leather Jack. Matt Dillon from the outsiders for sure.

The audiobook was absolutely wonderful! Avery and J.C. Harding did such a great job bringing Wolfe and Nicole to life — their narration had me totally immersed from start to finish.
Wolfe and Nicole were written exactly how you'd expect teenagers in a messy, emotional situation to act — impulsive, dramatic, frustrating... and so real. 😂 There were moments I wanted to scream at them, and others where I found myself crying right along with them. That emotional rollercoaster hit hard!
It’s been a while since I read the bully romance genre, and I have to say — this was the perfect way to jump back in.
Definitely a solid listen if you're looking for something raw, emotional, and a little chaotic — in the best way!

I loved this, the plot was interesting and engaging. I love a good stepbrother/bully story 🖤 and Wolfe is just plain mean, blunt and possessive. I love that for him 😏

Linzvonc has done it again! Wolfe is the first audiobook in her Archer High series, and if you’re a fan of bully and/or stepbrother romances, you absolutely need to pick this one up! Even if you’ve never been a fan of those tropes in the past or have never tried them before, I urge you to give this a listen, because I have a feeling you will be a fan by the time you’re finished. It’s just that good. Check those trigger warnings first, though. Wolfe is the ultimate bad boy! He comes off as cruel and uncaring—mainly because he is… to most people—but his heart is definitely in the right place, even though some would claim he doesn’t have one. But if you’re in the small group of people he actually cares about, there’s nothing he won’t do for you. And if you’re lucky enough to be the woman he’s in love with, he will absolutely burn down the world for you without a second thought. Wolfe and Nicole—who comes off as the typical bookish, nerdy, good girl—are polar opposites. They have nothing in common other than a deep hatred for each other… or so it seems. They are both secretly longing for the other, even if they don’t want to admit it. Their journey to love is definitely not easy with more than a few hurdles to overcome, but their chemistry is white hot! And the love they eventually surrender to is stronger than either of them could have ever expected. I just loved everything about this story! Linzvonc has written this story and these characters so well, you just can’t help but be drawn in completely. I can’t wait for the next audiobook in the series!
The duet narration is provided by JF Harding and Avery Caris, and both turn in stellar performances! JF Harding’s voicing of Wolfe is absolutely brilliant! He does an amazing job of portraying this character’s apparent duality, with equal emotion and passion shown to Wolfe’s outward bullying persona and his inner vulnerability and caring soul. I dare you not to fall in love with this character! And Avery Caris as Nicole is equally as outstanding in her compelling and expressive portrayal, showcasing the character’s insecurities, strength, unerring loyalty, and inner fortitude with such incredible depth of emotion. You can’t help but feel every word of her performance. Together, these two phenomenal voice actors bring this riveting and heartwarming story to life, making this audiobook a can’t miss title!

Wolfe is the first book in the archer high series and the first book I've read by this author and I loved every single minute of it, I just couldn't put it down I was hooked. It had me on the edge of my seat, taking me on a dark and wild ride. It's filled with so much, with twists and turns you just don't see coming. The characters, the storyline, the plots, it all was out off this world, crazy good. Getting to witness the growth these broken characters go through was truly incredible to see. To see why and who they are today and evolve from that. The author took us on a wonderfully dark, deep and raw journey. I can't wait to read more from this series and she definitely has a fan for life.

He's set on destroying her, get her out his system but it's not as simple as that. Things change and he needs and wants her. He also wants to keep her safe and protect her, they have so much in common. And they fall for each other, but it's a battle to get there.
So much happens in this book you really need to read it for yourself. You will fall in love with them just like a did. Highly recommend.

I said it was the last page, and then I will sleep. Then 2.25 books later. I could blame Author Linzvonc, but I take full accountability for my actions. First, I had to read about all the commotion about Daddy Griffin, but then there’s the follow-up story, too! Only to find out that Linzvonc writes high school büll¥ romances. Surprisingly, my tiredness hasn’t hit me yet. I’m running on pure adrenaline due to Linzvonc’s high school büll¥ story “Wolfe.”
Wolfe’s character is intense, self-destructive, damaged, and cold. He is an a$$h0l€. He is a dee eye see Kay. He has a massive chip on his shoulder and rules the school. Of course, all the girls want to be with him except for his new stepsister, Nicole, whom he has pure disdain for. Nicole is the nerdy, quiet girl with glasses that keeps to herself. When Wolfe catches Nicole in a compromising situation, Wolfe threatens to leak it out to everyone. He then forces her to do things that seem like she doesn’t want to do as punishments, but both surprisingly enjoy.
I loved how Linzvonc wrote both characters that appear incredibly different but show that they are more than meets the eye. The theme carries on through the entirety of the story. Wolfe is complex. He’s more than the a$$h0l€, rich, powerful kid who parties without a care in the world, and Nicole is so much more than the innocent nerdy one. And don’t worry, the spice was so there!
Like an adrenaline jüñk¡€, I am hooked on Linzvonc’s books. It has been a while since I’ve binged on one author, and I’m here for it!

Wolfe and Nicole....I wish there would have been a smidgen more of them. Of course at first I was not a fan of Wolfe but it wasn't long before he changed my mind. There are so many layers to him and I get why he is the way he is. Good thing he had Nicole to pull his softer side to the surface from the depths it is buried within him.
Nicole is so dang innocent and it doesn't take Wolfe long to win her. As soon as he is in her personal space all reasoning goes out of her head and while at first I would get angry with her, I totally got it by the end of the story. She loves all of him...the good, the bad, and one might even say the slightly cruel. She is definitely good for him and shows him what love is.
I am not one to seek out bully romance books but I sure do love when they cross my path and Wolfe is no exception. Linzvonc had me loving Wolfe and his little Red, a.k.a. Nicole. They are so good together. The extent he will go to in order to protect her which coincidentally goes hand in hand with some plot twists...I was there for them. I loved the side characters and cannot wait to get to their stories!

Avery Caris and J.F. Harding give your ears listening pleasure in duet style. I have heard these two together before but not in a darker setting and I loved it. Honestly I enjoy listening to these two in pretty much any romance genre. I was apprehensive at first due to the characters still being in high school but their voices were perfect. Avery always has a younger innocent sound to her and plays those types of roles well so Nicole was perfect for her. J.F....I will listen to him all day, ever single day. It doesn't matter the age of the character, that man seems to never need to adjust his tone and always fits his characters perfectly!!!!

WOLFE by LINZVONC drags you into the dark and dares you to stay there - and somehow, you do.
Bully romances aren’t usually my thing, but LINZVONC pulls you so deep into Wolfe and Nicole's world that you can't help but get tangled up in it. Wolfe is not cruel for the sake of it-- he’s a product of his own wreckage. His moral compass is completely wrecked, yet the cracks show when it comes to Nicole. His obsession doesn’t turn him into a hero, but it does make him human, and that’s where LINZVONC sinks the hook.
One thing that truly helped elevate this story was the incredible performances by JF Harding and Avery Caris. These two are easily among my favorite voice actors, and here, they absolutely brought their A-game. They gave Wolfe and Nicole both the heat and the heart needed to make their connection feel real, even when the story itself leaned heavily into darkness. Their chemistry is electric, their emotion razor-sharp, and they breathe fire into every page.
Still, I’ll be honest - my biggest struggle with stories like this is the setting. High school students operating with this level of darkness and emotional manipulation stretches believability for me. It’s extreme fiction, and it requires you to suspend reality to fully dive in. But if you can accept that and roll with it, WOLFE is a wild, relentless ride.
Despite my usual hesitations, I’m locked in. LINZVONC has created something raw, messy, and completely addictive and I’m definitely in for the rest of the Archer High series.

This is definitely a dark, twisty romance. Wolfe and Nicole are step-siblings and Wolf seems to hate everything about Nicole. Nicole tries to avoid Wolfe as much as possible, but that can be difficult when he searches her out to bully her and her best friend is his ex that can't seem to let him go.
Wolfe catches Nicole in a vulnerable moment and uses it to blackmail her. He wants to ruin her, use her and throw her away like he does every other girl, but he throws him for a loop when she shows that she likes the dysfunctional dynamic they have just as much as he does. Against their own wishes, they fall for each other knowing everything about them will be seen as wrong to everyone else. They try to stay apart, and they seem like they cannot exist fully with or without the other.
To say they are both dysfunctional on their own as well as with each other is an understatement, but together, they make the dysfunction work for them. They fall hard and are each other's ride or die person. I really did want them to find a way to make things work while dealing with all the suck in their lives - and there is a lot of suck! Finding out some of the reasons they are the way they are (especially Wolfe) is wonderfully written and your heart goes out to him after not really liking much about him in the beginning.
If you like dark, taboo bully romance, this is the perfect book for you! Excited to read the next book!

I wanted to leave more stars
I'd say three and a half stars is warranted here. It follows Wolfe and Nicole, the school's broken don't give a toss guy and the sweet innocent stepsister. They fight each other first and then everyone else in their journey to be together.
Now I'll start with the storyline. I liked it, genuinely the plot itself was well thought out and it didn't have any major plot holes. The way they all spoke and thought did very much match their ages and genuinely left me rolling my eyes (in a good way) remembering being their age and feeling exactly (well, kind of) like they did.
The biggest issue and WHY it's not got more stars is that in places the writing was....erratic may be the best word for it. The characters would be one moment sat down for instance and the next they're halfway into a completely different room with no explanation as to why they were there. The characters also had changing personalities, especially amongst the minor ones. One moment they'd be agreeing with someone and then they'd be in the middle of an argument. There was overuse of some words too like 'Yelled' (said would have worked fine xx) and also kept calling Wolfe by his full name. Constantly.
Overall it wasn't a bad book but I think there was room for improvement but I'll still be reading the rest of the series to see how it goes. I am actually looking forward to them!
