Battle of Oberstein: A Molter War Story

Rate this book
When friends join ex-soldier Jonah on a European vacation, they discover that the beautiful German town where he was once stationed is completely vacant.

The strangeness doesn’t end there. One of their group falls into a coma, another sees a strange creature, and large mounds of dirt appear everywhere.

Before they can determine what is happening, Jonah realizes something deadly is watching from the shadows, waiting to hunt.

But what they stumble across in the depths of an abandoned military base threatens not only their lives, but all of mankind.

When I started this, I didn’t know this book is the first of a series. About two-thirds of the book is character development and back story. I almost bailed before I got to when the molters appear and the title battle, which is now obvious will be one of many in subsequent books. Overall, it’s well-written and I am curious to see what happens to Jonah, the main character, but the book definitely ends too abruptly.

Battle

This book is good for a quick read. I wish it had been longer to explain more. But is okay.

If you like this kind of book you might like it. I wasn’t crazy about it but I liked it more than I thought I would.
