Fate's Call #1

The Alpha’s Stolen Mate

Rate this book
My boyfriend cheated on me and blamed me for it?
Well, I just fell into his best friend’s bed.
And accidentally got knocked up by the future Alpha.

Six years later, I live off the grid with a five-year-old who growls when he’s hungry.
No pack. No drama. No men with pretty lies and dangerous eyes.
Until one phone call ruins everything—
My father's dying.
And I’m dragged back to the wolves who once tore me apart.
Now I’m home.
With a secret that bares tiny fangs.
And a spine sharpened by survival.

Gabriel—my sin, my son’s father—is standing there like he didn’t ruin me with one night and vanish before sunrise.
He wants answers.
The pack wants control.
But me? I just want to survive this visit.
Unless he begs.
Then maybe I’ll give him hell first.

2.5 It was okay. (Possible spoilers ahead)
This is a rejected mate book. Some of the “rules” in this wolf book were a little different than other wolf/shifter books.

H, h, and H’s BFF- they were all friends since they were children.

When h was 16, a rogue wolf attacked her and H saved her life. (Both H and h had secret feelings for each other) While h was recovering in the hospital, BFF step up and admitted he had feelings for her. They became boyfriend and girlfriend.

2 years later, h and BFF are still dating. H has pulled away from being “friends” with h because he knew he loved her and she was dating his BFF. BFF had plans to propose to her. So BFF did the next best thing 🤪 and cheated on her. h walked in on him with another girl. Then he proceeded to blame h by saying “since you wanted to wait until marriage to have smex”and he lied and told her that H said he should sow his wild oats before he got married. She broke up with him, then went to confront H. She thought H told BFF to cheat on her. 🙃

When she confronted H, they both then realized they were true mates. They were both virgins. Then they had smex.

Well, H’s dad (who was alpha) had plans for H to marry some Alpha King’s daughter. H didn’t want to because he knew the king was corrupt. Plus, the OW was a spoiled brat. The king and OW are not a huge factor in this story even though they are mentioned a lot.

One month later, h finds out she’s pregnant.

Now comes the part where the book lost me. 😬 There is some rule about banishing if you put the pack at danger. Everybody knew the alpha had made the marriage pack with the King for protection against the rogues. If h ruined that (because she was a mate and pregnant the alpha’s son),then that would be considered betraying the pack and she would have been banished. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

h went to tell H she was pregnant but before she could say anything, he rejected her.
H wasn’t a bad guy at all. He only did it because he thought he was protecting her.

She left town. For 4 years, she was gone with her kid, aunt and mom. Then they get the message that h’s dad was in the hospital and they returned home.
H knew immediately it was his kid when he saw them at the hospital.

During their 4 years apart, H had been working in secret on his own plan to bring down the rogues without marrying OW. BFF had turned full on traitor and H knew BFF was a snake. Basically, BFF betrayed H because he was jealous of him. He was working with the rogues and had plans to take over the pack.

There’s some political stuff that happens, but mostly the rest of the book is h learning to trust H again. Both were celibate during their years apart.

Naturally, (can’t have a shifter book without somebody being kidnapped) h is kidnapped by BFF. He beats her up. H makes it in time and kills him. 🙃

6 months later, a wedding and HEA

I rolled my eyes so hard at the smex bits. These MCs were both virgins the first time, but they talked/acted like they were some experienced p*rn stars.
Then, 4 years later (which would have been the second time either have had smex) you get some filthy talking alpha male 😂😂 knowing all the major moves.

🎶 “Boys workin' on empty. Is that the kinda way to face the burnin' heat? · There's nothin' sweeter than my baby.” 🎶

Six years after a one-night mistake with her ex’s best friend left her raising a secret son in exile, she’s forced back to her old pack when her father falls ill. Survival is her only goal, but returning means facing Gabriel—the future Alpha who fathered her child and then disappeared before sunrise.

“Summer, I only rejected our Mating bond because I was trying to—“

“Because you were trying to protect me, right? Is that what you were going to say?”

It was honestly so annoying that he rejected her just because he did not want Axel to see them together. In hindsight, yes, he was trying to protect her from being exiled from the pack, but they literally found out they were mates. They slept together, and when she was about to tell him she was pregnant, that is when he rejected her. Years pass, and suddenly she is back in town. He looks at her child once and just knows it is his. Then he has the nerve to be upset because she did not tell Grayson that Gabriel was his father. She was completely valid in that choice. If you have not been in your child’s life for so long, and you literally rejected the mother, what makes you entitled to suddenly feel like you deserve direct access to your son? Especially when you were absent, and possibly lined up for an arranged marriage with another woman.

“You and our son are my whole entire world, baby,” Gabriel whispered. “There’s nothing that I wouldn’t do for you two.”

“Thank you for trusting me with your heart again. I swear that you can trust me with it,” he said, just before he pressed a gentle kiss to my lips.

What frustrated me most was how quickly she forgave him and how rushed their reconciliation was. Yes, it is only 200 pages, but there are always better ways to handle pacing, even in a short book. This one just did not hit. And making Axel the villain—a cheater and possibly the worst human alive—just so she could leave him for Gabriel felt unfair. Gabriel cared about Axel. Axel was not just his brother but his best friend, his family. To strip that bond away simply to create a convenient love interest felt wrong and, honestly, kind of cheap.

I didn’t like anyone in this book and they lacked brain cell 100% of the time.

Filler 2.5

Easy breezy filler read. The contrived issue that made the MMC reject the FMC was dumb as all get out. So, as long as you go into it knowing it's not going to be anything other than a shallow, easy read, then you maybe won't be too disappointed.

Not what I expected

I originally found this book through a subreddit. It sounded like a book I was searching for, but this was not it.

I'm giving it a three star review because it had some good story development and I liked authors writting. She didn't spend too long of the shifting aspect which in my opinion is great. The book did feel a little rushed. To me, the werewolf wasn't werewolf enough, when I read about werewolves it's mainly for their animalistic reactions. The wolves in this book are more civilized then normal werewolves.

Summer was a very weak shifter which I couldn't understand since her dad was a higher ranking wolf. She rarely shifted. The title and book cover just got my expectations high but the story flopped. Gabriel was a unique alpha male though. He was understanding of summers wants, but he didn't have a backbone to stand up for what he wanted until close to the end. The axel character I wish would have had more depth built into the character to make betrayal more impactful and understanding.

I am also just now realizing this is book 4. I will read the others and come back to re-rate this book. Maybe there is more information on the supernatural types and world building in the other books.

He's always been drawn to her

An action packed shifter romance, with misunderstandings, drama, action, friendships, secrets, betrayal, love, passion and a HEA. The main characters are both wonderfully strong characters, loyal to their friends and family.

Gabriel and Summer had been friends for years, along with his best friend/brother Axel. Following a rogue attack where Gabriel was able to save her she's asked out by Axel and accepts, to Gabriel's disappointment. But several years later she begins to mistrust him and when she catches him in bed with another. Upset she ends things and goes to Gabriel to talk which leads to more. But when she discovers she's pregnant she's shocked to have him reject her and their mate bond and secretly leaves the pack to raise her son.

Six years later she's drawn back to the pack after an attack on her father. But how will Gabriel feel when he meets his son with his arranged marriage to the kings daughter approaching? Can they find a way to repair what they had before?

Started reading this story when stuck at the hospital, it was a quick read. I didn’t actually finish the last few pages but the plot was wrapped up and so it wasn’t super important.

So the story was cute. I think the beginning could have been shortened so there was more room for the plot line. There was a lot in the story that could have been expanded on. The summary wasn’t really 100% accurate in my opinion, either.
There was a choppy and not super good reason the characters were separated. There were several little hints of possible other stories, that we didn’t need in this book. There were several parts of this that needed expanding and filling out.

That being said, the story was good and some of the characters were so cute. Do not go into this looking for a book full of smut. There was smut and chemistry between the main characters.
Probably won’t read again, but will not remove the possibility of more from this author.

Gabriel, Axel and Summer have been friends since childhood. Summer and Gabriel have always had an attraction for each other, but never admitted it. Their silence about their feelings and a circumstantial even lead Summer to Axel. Then a betrayal leads Summer into Gabriel's arms for one night. Then, Gabriel's father's manipulations turn things into a royal mess, leading Gabriel to push Summer away. Summer's family takes her away from the pack.

After six years, these two: Gabriel and Summer, will be thrown together again by fate. Will they have a future this time? Are they now mature enough to handle Gabriel's father, their past and Axel? A story of love denied, love lost, pack and family drama, suspense, etc. Another great shifter read by Jennifer Eve. Enjoy!

Gabriel & Summer
They have always liked each other but she dates his BFF/adopted brother for two years. Summer & Gabriel realize they are fated mates and spend a night together. She has to leave and returns in 5 years along with his son. They still love each other and make their way back to each other. The reasons that brought this book down for me
➡️ miscommunication. Multiple times.
➡️ the story was told at the reader and not shown to the reader. As a reader I did not feel a connection to the story or characters
➡️ they “love” each other. Automatically. No real relationship or relationship building

Gabriel and Summer. Her boyfriend cheated and he says it was her fault. Yeah right. So for revenge she falls into his best friends bed. Now shes pregnant with the future alphas baby. Shes been living off the grid for six years and she and her son are doing fine. Until she gets a call her father is dying. She returns to her pack of hellhounds.
Suspense. Shifter. Cant put down. Entertaining. Emotional. Indulge in their journey that jumps off the pages.

The story has a lot of potential and it gets better towards the end.
The beginning feels unpolished and like it was written by an untrained author.
I like the characters and I feel like they are pretty well thought out.
The writing style is a bit unpolished and at times it made me wonder if the text was edited at all or if the author was very young.
All in all, a pretty good book with a lot of potential but some need of polishing.

Wrongful Rejection

Complicated by the fact that Gabriel had to watch the woman he loved date his best friend set up the plot in unexpected ways. Summer not only comes across the pain of a cheating boyfriend but a bigger betrayal than runs deeper. While the reason for her rejection was confusing, the rest of the story was exciting and suspenseful. Grayson was a wonderful part of this book that added a layer of charm that I could not resist.

A wonderful story about second chances. Summer and Gabriel have a history together and through circumstances and the actions of others they were driven apart. Can they now years later get a second chance and accept it? And can they come to terms with the past when they get the information they didn't have then? A great story with enough tension and attraction, drama, romance and enough steam.

I'm sorry to say it. But I did not like the rules of this world.

Get your destined mate pregnant, and you risk getting exiled as a rogue wolf.
Really?
Also, wat is it with the bad communication between mates or even their parents?
But then again, it all comes back to those horrible pack laws in this shifter world!!!

It does have a HEA ending to it.
That might be one of the only redeeming points for this story 😐

Mine for a price

Entertainment pure and simple! Every page gave you a scene that grabbed your emotions and wrung them dry! Chaos, miscommunication, mischief and misconduct run amok with love and romance struggling to find its niche and succeeding admirably!

HEA

Gabriel breaks the mate bond with Summer to keep her safe. Her parents take her to her Aunt's for the same reason because she is pregnant. Five years later they have a second chance. Rogue attacks, traitors and corrupt people make this interesting.

The Alpha 's stolen mate

The action and thrill of everything going on with Brindle Creek was awesome . Summer and Gabriel were going up against everything that was getting in their way. The war with rogue wolves and dealing with pack laws . Great book.

Stolen mate

Easy read, wolf shifter, rejected fated mates for protection, secret baby, fighting evil, reunion. All the tropes, no surprises. Not great, not terrible.

Boring

Started out cool but fizzled. Overall boring. The story line needs more development. Maybe some character development and better writing. Idk it was just missing something.
