All Jesse wants is to serve killer brisket from his food truck and finally live life on his own terms. But fate has a spicy Beck, the annoyingly charming wolf from a neighboring pack, rolls into town with a rival food truck - and a truckload of sass.

Beck’s dream of culinary independence doesn’t include bickering with the gruff alpha at the food truck next door… or noticing how good Jesse looks in an apron.

Just as their flirty rivalry starts to simmer into something deeper, a body is found in Beck’s truck. With their budding romance and businesses on the line, Jesse and Beck must walk away before anyone gets hurt, or risk it all for a love worth sinking their teeth into.

Jesse is the sixth book in the Pecan Pines series.

This is book 6 in the Pecan Pines series and each book can be enjoyed as a standalone read. This is the story of Beck and Jesse. Beck is the youngest son of the Silvercrest pack alpha. He has been chafing at being under the families control. He is planning on showing everyone that he can succeed on his own by winning the the food truck competition at one of the biggest food festivals in the region. Jesse is a member of the Pecan Pines pack. His family has been enforcers for generations. But that is not what Jesse wants to do. He loves working the food truck and coming up with new creations. He is excited to compete at the food festival. Beck is happy to compete until he finds his truck worker unconscious and a dead boy in the truck freezer. That warrants a call to his big brother for help. Now Jesse's alpha assigns him to keep Beck safe while at the food festival. When Beck's truck is broken, the two join forces and combine menus. They will work together out of Jesse's truck. And hopefully figure out who wants Beck dead before it happens. This is their story. The book is easy to read and written well. I enjoyed it. Going from adversaries to mates during the food truck competition makes it a fun read.

"Not everything needs to be perfect or special. Sometimes, being happy is enough."

This is book 6 in the Pecan Pines series by Fel Fern and Kara Kitt. I love this writing duo and when I saw this pop up on Booksprout I grabbed it. I've read and reviewed each book in this series and I've loved them all.

A killer is on the loose and he's got a score to settle. This book's main characters are Beck, who is Jackson's brother from The Silvercrest pack and Jesse, Colton's cousin and the self-declared king of one-night stands.

We still need Ethan's book, hopefully that will be coming soon.

Fated mates, a mystery to solve, food truck competition, smoked brisket is the best

'Maybe it was the adrenaline. Maybe the way the golden light hit his face, made the green in his eyes more vivid.
Or maybe I’d just run out of reasons not to.
I wasn’t sure what pushed me to lean in. I’d thought about it a lot, but never acted on it. The timing had never felt right. Until now.
So I kissed him. Softly. Quickly. Just enough to let it happen.'

I really loved this book. It was a fun romance. I loved the food truck rivalry to romance. The competition was a fun treat. The dead body- not so much. I loved both Jesse and Beck. Loved the way their relationship developed. The killer on the loose was suspenseful and tense. I couldn't wait to see what would happen. 5 stars.

Outstanding! Jesse, alpha and Beck, omega were food truck rivals. Jesse just wanted to live his dream serving his amazing brisket. Beck was looking for independence. Their cooking skills was not the only thing smoking hot. Their budding relationship was on a straight collison to absolute happiness when a tragic event caused them to have to make serious decisions. Someone is dangerous not happy with them. Fel, has done her usual fantastic job with an amazing mated couple with a bit of adventure thrown in. Nice cover art! Well done! This is book six in the Pecan Pines series and it is another great addition to the series, this is Jesse and Beck’s story and we get a great mix of action, adventure and romance as a killer comes to town during the food truck festival which both Jesse and Beck want to do well in so when Beck’s truck gets damaged they work together and we watch their relationship grow as they realise they’re mates and Jesse will do whatever it takes to keep Beck safe no matter what. Great read looking forward to Ethan’s story next.

Beck runs a food truck with Preston as his helper from the Silvercrest pack. They are competing in Pecan Pines with numerous other pack food trucks. Jesse a member of the Pecan Pines pack also has a truck. When Preston is knocked unconscious and they find a dead body in the freezer things get intense. Jesse and Beck join together to compete using Jesse’s truck. Someone is after Beck and Jesse needs to protect him. This story is full of suspense, pack drama, love and humor. So much fun to read.

Jesse and Beck had an intriguing start and it didn’t help when Jesse made remarks about Beck’s food.

A great story about a killer who is already circling his next prey and two wolves who end up finding so much more than friendly competition.

Jesse and Beck run their own food trucks and at the festival in Pecan Pines they find gentle rivalry. A dead body is found in Beck's food truck leaving his friend unconscious so Jesse is assigned to find the killer. The story gets going and they discover they are mates. This is a must-read.
