I will have him. No matter what I have to do to get him. Manipulation. Misrepresentation. Murder. I will do it all. To take what is mine. Jasper Marcelo may not know it yet, but he is already mine. Mine to take. Mine to kill. No one will touch him but me. I will make certain he never leaves. He is my possession and I will consume him. Til death do us part. —SINN'OUS
Sin had me addicted the from his first interaction with Rogers. His unapologetic darkness and the way he gets what he wants and satiates his needs, I could not get enough. Then you add in Izzy's innocents. The way their relationship grows and they themselves change throughout the book keeps you coming back for more.
This book has introduced me to a new author and a different type of darkness I cant wait to get more of.
No stars because if you know my reviews you know I don’t like stories written in the same timeline with no change. This was just Sinn’s perspective and not much else—which was good of course don’t get me wrong. He was a lot… probably an understatement but it’s late and I’m tired. And yes I had to read it because for everything it didn’t have it was at least captivating and had me thinking about this second book for months, so I read it!
It lacked a storyline, a plot, that’s probably my one main issue with this series. It didn’t go anywhere?
ARC Reader I have never heard of E.P. Writer before getting the opportunity to read Caged Killer as an ARC. This is book two of the Caged Prison Series. Though it can be read as a standalone. This book follows the POV of Sinn'ous (Sin). It is a mild dual POV, with most of it being written in Sinn'ous' POV and some parts being written in Rogers. This is the exception for the last couple of chapters that are written in Jasper's (Izz) and Zayne's POV.
I very much enjoyed this story as my first glimpse into this twisted world that is the Caged Prison Series. This is not Sinn'ous' first appearance, as he first appeared in SKhorpion House of Blood, which is part of A Serial Killer's Life Series. I have not heard of either of these series before becoming involved in this ARC. Caged In (book one) gives the story from Jasper Marcelo's (Izz) POV. I do very much plan on picking this book up and read it as well.
The story is a prison romance, complete with a psychopathic "serial killer" who is a satanic worshipper. The story is told from the POV of Sinn'ous, the psychopathic in question. This is a journey of going from one goal that involves murder to somehow grooming a pet (Izz).
I wasn't sure what exactly I was in for, but I have to say I loved every twist and turn that was given. It is a very spicy book. The romance between Sin and Izz can be compared to a very twisted Ash and Eiji (Banana Fish). When first being introduced to Izz, I couldn't help but see this parallel. It is different, but the dynamics are sort of similar.

I’m more excited to see Izz and Sin OUTSIDE of the prison but luckily that’s coming in book 3! I can see why the author wrote this POV. It gave some important insight on Sin’s perspective throughout the events of book one, although i felt like Roger’s brief POV was unnecessary. Over all, it was really jaw dropping to realize that the gestures we thought were sweet and romantic from book one were all manipulation. i was shook to learn that Sin is lowkey just trying to end jasper the entire time lol. the author captured that twisted psychological manipulation very well. Stuff like that really puts the darkness in romance! BUT Sin is changing and doesn’t seem to fully grasp that he’s falling hard for Izz, and that’s what makes his character fun to read. Can’t wait to see what character arcs they go through in book 3!
Because it's a second POV, its not as fun of a read even though I read the first book. Also, Sin's POV was not as enjoyable to read, liked his character less here.
