OMG what a shocking book. A crazy thriller, President Frump, really!!!

In the not-too-distant future, a President announces that he is going to implement a plan that will put the us in harm's way.
Enter the Knoxate, a pharmaceutical company that has stumbled upon a drug that makes you susceptible to suggestions. Any suggestions. All you need to do is drink the tasteless drug and be zapped with a laser, and you now have a person who will do your bidding and have no knowledge of what transpired.
Jane, the CFO, comes up with a plan that will change the outcome of the elections. And now the real suspense begins.
Did I mention the murder that takes place, and the old CFO suddenly takes a long-deserved vacation?
I enjoyed the book if for nothing else than wishing to see the drug given to everyone in the US and suggest that they respect their neighbors and be pleasant for the rest of their lives.
So much for dreaming while reading this story.
I will definitely read the next novel.

I didn’t read Book 1. The Memory Candidate is about a new drug that restores memory for dementia patients but can also cause a hypnotic state when activated with a laser. When the president states his intention to bomb a new strait between Mexico and the US, the company’s executives wonder if they can sway the presidential election. This is a dark farce. None of the characters were likable, except perhaps Ian. The book needs editing and formatting. Triggers for language and other crude content. This was a great premise, though I didn’t really find it funny or enjoyable. I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway.

The Memory Candidate continues the story of The Meaning of It, but this time, the young scientists' journey shifts toward the president's re-election campaign. While the first book was more of a medical thriller, this one is more of a political thriller. Very interesting.
