It's been 100 years since the extinction of alphas and omegas. These genders now only exist in textbooks. Ayase, who was born with an "Omega mutation" in this world where only betas exist, has to labor as an AV male actor in order to secretly obtain expensive suppressants. "I would never be able to have a normal love life" is what Ayase thought, but one day, a fateful encounter with a man named Inukai left him with an uncontrollable desire. However, when they tried connecting their bodies for the first time that night, 'that' happened?!
A 100 years have passed since alphas and omegas went extinct or so they thought. Yutaro Ayase is an omega in world full of betas. He spends his days working as a gay porn actor in order to pay for the expensive suppressants he secretly takes. One day he meets Ryo Inukai and they feel an immediate spark and attraction, but they're unsure why. Until they get intimate for the first time and Ryo reveals he's an alpha.
The pacing of this was extremely off. I kind of set myself up to not liking this because the premise itself isn't my jam. I gave it a shot because it's omegaverse and the art is cute, but the whole last alpha and last omega aspect of it really just doesn't appeal to me and it also made the story make less sense. Like why is this lab wasting time and money to develop alpha and omega medication if they're supposedly extinct? The relationship was pretty cute though and the art was nice, but the relationship didn't really have much to offer other than being cute. They talk about liking each other beyond their instincts, but they hardly spend too much time getting to know each other and a lot of their attraction is based on possibly being fated partners and being alpha and omega. I did like that the alpha was determined not to give into his nature and protect the omega from himself. I think there was a lot that could've made this a really cute story, but it ultimately fell flat.
Review moved over (old) Felt short maybe unfinished or rushed. Needed to be longer But super cute and great character developments Liked the different take on the omegaverse, just a cute couple no r*pe or abuse or pregnancies
This has a different take on the omegaverse. There's no pregnancy, and no rape, and is just about how you can still fall in love regardless if you are an omega or alpha.
Oh LORD, I don't remember why I gave this 4 stars. I do remember that it was super cute, and I liked the dynamic between the characters. I thought the character development was actually pretty decent. I appreciated Ayase, the omega character, worries that the only reason he and Inukai have a connection is because they are an alpha and an omega. It's a legitimate concern, and I thought the way that it was dealt with was pretty good.
I'm inclined to say I didn't really like it but the art style was good and I don't really see any faults with the story itself. Personally I just prefer omegaverse for what it is, going along with their animalistic instincts and follow fate. The author's point of view was still valid and the conclusion was plausible.
Have a read if you'd like to see how the "last" omega and alpha would react if they met in a world dominated by betas.
