I have been really trying to get through this one, but I finally had to quit. I received this as an ARC, so I feel bad that I couldn't get through it to give a full review. I just wasn't seeing any character development or advancement with the plot. I had no clue what was going on overall, and the characters just didn't click with me. I normally like a captor/captive trope, and I'm all for being in the middle of a twin sandwich, but I wasn't getting anything out of this one.

When I first read the summary, I was hooked. The beginning was strong, and I couldn’t wait to find out what would happen to Chiara and who these madmen really were. The suspense was gripping at first.

However, Chiara ends up being a classic damsel in distress throughout the entire story—constantly trembling and seemingly overwhelmed. Personally, I prefer an FMC who pushes back or shows some resistance to the situation she’s in. Chiara, unfortunately, felt extremely passive. I don’t know that she actually had a thought of her own.

There were also parts that left me confused. For example, I’m still unclear on how Mikhail and Nikolai’s mother died. The timeline also felt muddled—at one point, Chiara couldn’t remember a period of time, but it wasn’t clear which period. I even thought she was still wearing the same dress from when she was first taken… for way longer than made sense then she brings up wearing trousers some time later. I was grossed out for a while 😷

Once the secrets were revealed, the plot started to drag. The characters’ internal monologues became repetitive, and everyone seemed to be thinking and feeling the exact same things over and over again.

Overall, it was just okay.

Got to read this book at a Beta reader and honestly it wasn't what I was excepting but it turned out to be an amazing story!
2 hot Bratva Twins brothers who steal a mafia princess....but the truths they ALL learn and have to deal with blew my mind.
Chiara had no idea about all the secrets that her father hid, neither did her brother.
Same goes for the twins...
All I know is that it is a slow burn and slow building but worth it.
These 3 fit together and eventually everyone comes to accept them... although it takes Chiaras brother a while and her dad is a little reluctant.

It has a lot of potential but ultimately fell flat. Some changes would need to be made. There's not much development going on with the characters or world. I kept reading to see if it would get better but sadly it didn't.
