Overall Thoughts
A new to me author , this book is a great introduction to the author’s writing style. This story is packed with drama, laugh-out-loud moments, suspense, and romance.
It’s an entertaining read from start to finish.
If you enjoy stories that go from a one-night stand to enemies-to-lovers and eventually a happily-ever-after, then I highly recommend this book.

Book Review
The story follows Oma, a young woman from an underprivileged background who is determined to escape a life of poverty and create a better future for herself.

During her journey, she meets Kachi, a wealthy man who rescues her from an attack outside a nightclub. Their unexpected encounter leads to a one-night stand, but what seems like a fleeting moment soon has life-changing consequences.

Things become even more complicated when Oma is forced to face Kachi again. He harbours resentment towards her after she took his Rolex in a moment of panic following their night together. Now bound together by an unborn child, they must navigate their growing bitterness, unresolved misunderstandings, and undeniable attraction.

Can they put their rivalry behind them and build a future filled with love, or will they remain enemies forever?

You’ll have to read the book to find out!

TIR is a captivating African romance that explores the themes of love, ambition, sacrifice, and the consequences of pursuing wealth at all costs. The story follows Oma, a young woman determined to escape poverty, whose life takes an unexpected turn after meeting Kachi, a wealthy and compassionate man. As their relationship develops, hidden secrets, social differences, and personal rivalries create emotional tension that keeps readers engaged.
The novel stands out for its relatable characters, engaging storytelling, and realistic portrayal of life's struggles and relationships. It effectively highlights how greed, pride, and misunderstanding can complicate love while emphasizing the importance of trust, perseverance, and genuine affection. I just finished Tangled in Rivalry, and it was quite a ride! This book has some intriguing tropes: surprise pregnancy, a one-night stand, a rich MMC, and much more.

The story follows Oma, who is determined to escape poverty by any means, only to get involved with a scammer and blackmailer. She then meets Kachi, a wealthy man seeking only a one-night stand—but things get complicated when Oma ends up pregnant.

The book explores the pressures of poverty, complex family dynamics, and the ways these shape choices and mindsets. Oma’s mother is infuriating—a true devil incarnate—while Osato is a standout character for always standing by Oma. Soso, on the other hand, is another annoying character.

Kachi, unfortunately, was frustrating at times, and the shift from hating Oma to wanting her felt a bit too fast.

Despite this, it’s a beautiful, emotional story. This is a 4-star read that I recommend for fans of dramatic romance with real-life struggles!

This piece stands as a notable literary achievement. The narrative flows with remarkable coherence, drawing the reader progressively deeper into its world with each successive chapter. The author demonstrates considerable skill in crafting an immersive setting, seamlessly weaving together elements of humor, emotional depth, and romantic tension. The protagonist, Oma, is rendered with vibrancy and authenticity, and her evolving relationship with Kachi offers a compelling, well-observed portrayal of romantic and interpersonal dynamics within the Nigerian context.

The novel achieves a commendable equilibrium between dramatic tension, comedic elements, and romantic narrative — the humor is genuinely effective, and the relationship between Oma and Kachi sustains the reader's engagement throughout. This is, on the whole, a distinguished and memorable contribution from a clearly talented author.
