Usually clear and well written. Excellent illustrations. However, a good editor should have picked up the typos. The section on the White Wagtail is confusing and doesn't explain that the illustrations are of two separate subspecies, one of which is found here and in Britain (Pied Wagtail), the other, continental, variant (White Wagtail) being a rare visitor.

Excellent, beautiful reference book complete with strong, easy to follow descriptions and the Irish names of birds thrown in. Lasair choille - the 'flame of the woods'. Great, easy, well laid out informational book, perfect for beginners.
