How do you start over when the past won’t stay buried?
Rebecca Wilder’s life is about to implode. Again. The first time, she was a naive young woman with terrible taste in men. Her mistake was leaving town with a man who turned out to be an abusive son of a bitch. Her undoing was allowing curiosity to get the best of her. Bad things happened. Very bad things. Years later, when the whole sordid mess is behind her and she’s finally comfortable with the choices she’s made, the police come knocking. Someone is dead, and Rebecca’s life is about to implode for the second time.
Corporal Sunny Bronson and her partner, Sergeant Roscoe Pratt, are working on the fringes of a federal investigation into an international human trafficking ring with ties to the city of St. John’s. They’ve been tasked with finding a key player who goes by the name Fidget. When a house bust doesn’t go as planned, Sunny finds herself entwined in a different investigation, and her boss has ordered her to stay clear of it.
But for reasons she isn’t willing to share, Sunny can’t walk away, and she’s willing to risk both her partnership with Roscoe and her career to find the answers. When she seeks help from an unlikely source, Sunny unknowingly begins the unravelling of a secret, one Rebecca Wilder desperately wants to stay buried.
One thing is for certain—everyone involved has something to hide. The question is how far they are willing to go to protect someone else’s secret.

Wish it was possible to give this book more stars because Natalie Carter-Giles deserves them for Someone Else’s Secret!!!!! I anxiously awaited the second book in her Sunny and Roscoe series and it didn’t disappoint!! When you pick up this book, you will be lost to the pages and engulfed in a story so well written that your heart will break for the characters and forget about trying to figure out who’s guilty, because her ability to make you suspect everyone is truly done by a very gifted and talented writer. Her books are that good that you don’t want to put them down, just one more chapter, one more page, have to keep going to see what happens. The only disappointment in finishing this book is having to wait for the next one!!!! You know when you have finished a great book because it always leaves you wanting more. Thank you for sharing your love for psychological thrillers with us, you have gifted your readers with hours of gasps, disbelief, and shock!! Keep writing, we will proudly keep reading the stories you dream up.
I loved this book. I had a hard time to putting it down to do other things. Looking forward to learning more about Corporal Sunny Bronson and her partner Sergeant Roscoe Pratt. Love this book for it's fast pace, easy to read, hard to put down. Leaves me wanting more. I would recommend this book if you love a book that leaves you with I can't wait to read the next one feeling.
I think this was my favorite book to write so far! I love being the creator of Sunny and Roscoe, and seeing them grow and develop on the pages of my stories. Being as this is the second installment in the series, I got to show much more depth to both these characters. They have lives beyond their work; they have personalities with all the quirks and annoyances of normal people; they have families beyond their work family; and they have secrets. It was exciting to intertwine this part of the story with the main storyline for Someone Else's Secret which is about four women, a missing man, and a deadly secret, pun intended. When I start a story, I always know the beginning and the ending. It's the middle I'm left to fill in. This time, however, the ending changed. I know most of us like happy endings in the books we read, but sometimes, happy endings don't make for an exciting conclusion - they just make us feel better. I won't give away the secrets to this unexpected ending, but I'm betting it will be a shocker! I'm giving myself five stars because let's face it, writing a book is hard and I deserve to reward myself for the dedication and perseverance it takes to see a book to publication. You on the other hand, are free to tell me exactly what you think of this story and I can't wait to read your reviews, whatever they may be. Happy reading!!
Wonderful second book in the Sunny and Roscoe series. The story keeps you on the edge of your seat and keeps the wheels turning, trying to figure out what is going to happen next. The book brings back characters from the first book. Oh, and that ending, mind-blowing, threw me for a loop for sure!! Love this series and can't wait for it to continue!!
Absolutely loved this book! Really enjoyed the story about human trafficking and how real life the story felt. Also, I love reading about character development in novel series, especially Sunny. Can’t wait to see how Sunny’s life evolves in the next novel! Great read.
