Rate this book
For years after their father’s death, brothers Ian and Sawyer Pendleton drifted apart, but now find themselves living in their hometown once more, in the heart of coal country in southeastern Kansas.

Ian, a fearless man of heroic action who toils in a dangerous world underground, is besieged by a difficult secret he can no longer keep to himself. If he does not reconcile the scars of the past, he will lose the most important person in his life.

Sawyer, a young lawyer with extraordinary talent, represents the families of miners killed in a terrible explosion. But the case, and indeed his very life, are soon threatened by a sinister and callous force that will stop at nothing to prevent the case from moving forward.

Lucius Schofield, an incorrigible ruffian who runs the Crystal Ball Saloon, watches over the boys in his own way, fulfilling a promise he made long ago. When a dark and ominous threat emerges with murderous intent, he must summon a dangerous beast from his past to save his godson’s life.

Highly recommended.
My wife read The Crow's Omen, loved it, and told me I had to read it, too. I absolutely agree with her enthusiasm. Mr. Potocnik's novel was a true page turner for me; I could not get to the next page fast enough. Well researched, great characters, a thrilling plot, and great writing, I simply could not stop reading. Self published but needs to be available to a much larger market. (Hint to any publishers!!)
