This is a book I found at Argos book store in Grand Rapids back on 7/26/2008 and around that time I got into the chapter on Waiting for the Sun. I stopped for some reason, maybe life or another book intervened, but I picked it up again this summer and plowed through it. Major Doors fan and author Doug Sundling provides the most detailed analysis of each Doors albums and songs using what was going on in the world of politics, entertainment, and mainly the life of Jim Morrison as a back drop setting the table.
My favorite quote in the whole book came early on page 30 when Morrison tells Lizze James in an interview "When others demand that we become the people they want us to be, they force us to destroy the person we are".
