This is the greatest cookbook I own. Everything's easy and delicious, no freaky vegan-y ingredients so your father-in-law will eat it too, but not all weird fried bbq sauced for normies either. Just good, slightly fancier than you would have thought of on your own, low fat, low sugar, but not in a diet-y way, just good. Plus it's made by this lovely lady in Portland and published by a small press. Support!
I've read through the recipes and stories cover to cover, but - since my significant other does most of the cooking - I haven't been able to try out any of the recipes. I hate to write a review of a cookbook before making several recipes from it, but I have to explain the beauty of this cookbook. All the recipes are simple, vegan, AND - since the author is from Texas - some kind of Texan sensibility. Love that. I trust this author completely, and now that I have a moment or two to cook more I am sure this book will be put to good use.
I got this cookbook this spring and so far I've really liked everything I've made from it. My absolute favorite so far is the zucchini muffin recipe - it makes both the best vegan muffins I've ever had and the best zucchini muffins I've ever had!
