I really wanted to like this a bit more than I did. Very nostalgic to be sure, but I wish there was more to this. It is basically a print version of the cut scenes. But in black and white and the art isn't as good. It's cheesier. Although it does make some of the amusing scenes a bit more comical. Like's Sora's "happy" face becomes a goofy one. I wanted more to the characters or behind the scenes shots but we don't get much. I tiny bit with Riku and his expressions added a level but otherwise I felt it the same pretty much.

I actually played this game. As much I want to buy and read this, maybe I will buy it but not read it, why? Because it's just the same story.

It's pretty much impossible for me to judge this objectively because this was such a delightfully nostalgic read for me.

I never had a PS2 when I was a kid, so I never got the chance to play the game this manga is based on. However, when Kingdom Hearts became the hottest and newest thing in my circle of high school friends, I needed to find a way to keep up with the conversation without breaking the bank for a brand-new console. This manga came to my rescue and gave me what I never knew I needed in my life: Disney characters on a collision course with Final Fantasy.

There’s something to be said for going through an extremely familiar story in a different medium, with the author both being extremely faithful and also taking some wild ass liberties to fit said new medium at the same time.
