DYING WAS THE EASY PART. STAYING ALIVE IN THE PAST? THAT’S WHERE THINGS GET COMPLICATED.
Ren Rousseau thought being the only werewolf who couldn’t shift was her biggest problem. Turns out, dying at the hands of the man she loved was worse.
But death wasn’t the end. It was the beginning.
Now thrown back two years before her murder, Ren has one figure out why she died… before it happens again.
It should’ve been simple. Keep her distance. Watch from the shadows. Gather the truth. But the past has a pulse, and it’s racing faster than she remembers.
Her ex—the vampire heir who stole her heart—is begging for forgiveness, completely unaware he’s the one who killed her in the future. Her best friend is the only person who knows her secret. And her bodyguard—the fiercely loyal, maddeningly protective wolf who’s been by her side since childhood—is suddenly looking at her like she’s more than just a mission.
The closer Ren gets to the truth, the more tangled her heart becomes. Because the line between duty and desire is blurring, and she doesn’t know who she’ll be when it finally snaps.
Things are messier this time around. Because there’s a mark on her shoulder blooming like black fire, and whispers of a Demon Child whose existence could unravel the world. A child everyone’s hunting. Just like they did in the past. Before, Ren never paid attention to Supernatural politics.
But this time, she’s paying attention.
Time doesn’t heal all wounds. But maybe it gives you the chance to stab first.

This is the first book in Karina Espinosa's new Shadows of the Crescent series. The plot is intriguing and gripping, keeping me turning the pages. The setting, New Orleans, is described in such rich detail that you can feel the city's vibe. I loved Ren, the FMC, who is a werewolf unable to shift. After she is killed and travels back in time two years, a lot changes. The way Ren evolves is also fantastically written, as is her second chance in life. After reading the ending, I can't wait to read the second book in the series!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The cover is quite dark, it has a very mystical, mysterious feeling to it. Theres the crescent moon in the sky, and a broken glass type effect around the cover. Thers also the wolf and face on there too which make you question who they are and their significance on the book. The cover definitely does its job well and captures your attention as well as making you want to learn more!
I think the line from the blurb “Time doesn’t heal all wounds. But maybe it gives you the chance to stab first.” is an absolutely brilliant, a great by-line. It certainly fits the kick-butt young woman Ren sets free when she is murdered in 2025 and transported back to 2023.
After being murdered by her long-term boyfriend, vampire Atlas in 2025, Ren wakes up 2yrs prior 2023 from being knocked out at a softball game. Ren quickly decides she's been given a second chance to do things differently. Obviously, she wants to find out why Atlas slit her throat and hopefully prevent it from happening again. As time goes on, Ren decides to make some more changes to how she lived her life and reacted to others around her.
Ren maybe be 'pack royalty' as the granddaughter of the current Alpha Matthias Rousseau & younger sister of the next Alpha Gabriel Rousseau and should be respected but because she has yet to shift and displays no supernatural powers she's is looked down on by the pack. Affectionately referred to as 'Little Wolf' by her grandfather she is called other, hurtful names by others, told she's weak, and a drain on pack resources, Ren basically keeps quiet and takes it, but after being murdered by her long term boyfriend who is a vampire called Atlas who is the son of the Vampire Clan leader in 2025 and waking up in 2023 where she had just been knocked out at a softball game. Ren has changed and has decided she is going to be no ones doormat anymore and starts as she means to go on by picking a revenge fight with pack member Nolan & Felix, she may not have fangs or claws but she has her knives and she certainly knows how to wield them! Her long-time bodyguard, Bellamy senses something 'different' in her but doesn't push the issue. Her boyfriend Atlas is confused as to why his previously devoted girlfriend has now broken things off and is avoiding him. Ren turns to her best friend in 2023, Winter, who happens to be a witch for help.
Ren is making changes in her life, she's going to stand up to the pack, she is a Rousseau and should be treat with the respect the name demands, she doesn't understand why Atlas betrayed her and murdered her whilst asking her to forgive him as she died but she wants nothing to do with him yet, she'll get her revenge once she has more details. Ren also wants to keep a closer eye on her Grandfather who fell ill between 2023-2025, she soon comes to believe her dear grandfather could have been poisoned.
Ren has made theses decisions to change herself, and naturally, that has its own repercussions. Some are changes that Ren welcomes, others complicate her second chance further. Ren's feelings and chemistry around Bellamy her bodyguard has totally changed, there's a spark of something more, especially when he is tending her wounds from her first battle and touches the black-red lotus flower her grandfather dismisses as a birthmark of no meaning.
Last but not least of the changes is she's not taking any more hassle/angst at work from current 2023 Head Chef Raul. She took far too much from Raul before he was fired & she was made Head Chef by 2025.
When Ren attends a council meeting, something she would have never done before she hears about some missing, presumed kidnapped human children. Though Lazarus Vampire leader seems reluctant to get involved in 'human issues', Alpha Matthias reprimands the vampire leader, Lazarus, and graciously offers that his pack will look into it. Things rapidly get out of hand when first a young wolf pup/boy is found murdered in Treme witch territory, then a young pure born vampire is found murdered on wolf pack land.
Ren rightly presumes that someone is trying to pit the different supernatural factions against each other to end the peace treaty and cause a war. The 'new' more confident Ren steps forward and says what she thinks and for a change, her pack listens, the vampires listen.
I adored Bellamy! It's quite plain to see he is besotted with Ren. He loves Ren. Is it just brotherly love, though, and why has Ren never noticed before? Though I have a feeling perhaps Bellamy always had this chemistry with Ren, maybe she either could see it or chose not to. Ren has to be very careful as people notice this new kind of closeness, Winter, teases Ren asking if Whitney has finally fallen for her Kevin Costner - a great example of Karina Espinosa's humour and referencing current/past movies and TV shows. Rens brother, Gabriel, warns Ren to stay away from any relationship with Bellamy other than him being her bodyguard. In fact, he goes so far as to threaten Bellamys life should Ren become involved with him. However,'things' become heated between Ren & Bellamy, it's Bellamy that steps back and tells Ren quite bluntly that he doesn't think of her like that, he goes on to say they could never work etc etc. Ren storms off, insisting on being alone and is kidnapped!! The people that have her seem to be performing some sort of ritual with her at the centre and it's then she meets 'someone' who has been missing her whole life until now!
Theres lots of different characters from different supernatural races within this book. I instantly liked the human Nun Mary Lucille, who quietly talks to Ren about her parents. I couldn't help liking the strange, friendly yet probably extremely dangerous Warlock Malaric Ashbourne and I'm not sure what he is yet but Mr Thompson & his dog Brimstone are giving me supernatural vibes, could Mr Thompson's dog be a he'll hound? I immediately loved Ren, Bellamy, and Winter. The quirky friendship between Winter & Ren and how when they want to talk privately when Bellamy is about, they use 'female issues' to embarrass him into stopping asking them questions. I can't help wondering what or who came between the great friendship Ren and Winter have in 2023, could it have been Atlas? Or some supernatural Unrest maybe? I could go on forever about Ren & Bellamy, I hope things end well for them both, even if they don't end up together! I'm intrigued by Maddox. Could he end up having feelings, friendship, or love for Ren, or will he just want to control her. Another character i liked was Theron, I feel he may be more misunderstood as he is set in the old ways of the pack. He may turn out a good friend or source of information for Ren. Finally, the one giving me the 'one to watch vibes', even more than Vampire leader Lazarus, is Ren's very own brother Gabriel! Theres just something i can't quite put my finger on but he seems to prefer 'doormat Ren' than Ren who wants to know whats going on. Gabriel is very dissmisdive towards his younger sister. I'm still unsure about the Dragon King and Queen, where their loyalties would lie. They seem very 'fae-like' in that they reveal only what they want to.
My immediate thoughts were 'why did it have to end there?!' Then WOW! What a build up, what an ending or should I say beginning? Can't wait to read more!! Love, love, loved it!!
Summing up I really loved Fangs Of Fate. There is so much going on, and so many questions for the rest of the series just from this first book! Theres the secrecy around Ren's parents death, her mysterious 'birthmark', the fact she seems to have no wolf, the murdered children, the Bayou issues, the wolves at the Bayou, the cause of Matthias Rousseau's illness, the question of why Atlas murdered Ren along with all the other things going on in Ren's work life and personal life. I also think it's going to be interesting to find out who has been keeping secrets from Ren and why. With so many fantastic characters there are so many directions this series could take. I'm definitely very eager to read more!!
A tightly packed story that has just begun. Ren Rousseau was from a highly respected family of wolf shifters; Matthais the Alpha, was her grandfather and Gabriel, her brother, the heir apparent. She was on the other hand was a chief. A very good one. What she wasn’t was a shifter. She had long ago that she was an outlier, practically human, since she didn’t have a wolf. She had never shifted, a disgrace to the pack leaving her vulnerable to those who wished to see her disappear. Bellamy became her bodyguard when she was five and he ten. He was her best friend, her shadow for over twenty years. Since she was eighteen, she had been in love with Atlas Deveraux, a vampire, and believed he loved her. There had been peace between the wolf shifters and vampires for the last thirty years, so she believed that one day they would wed. Until the night she left her phone behind, so Bellamy wouldn’t follow her to a late-night meeting between her and Atlas. The night Altas took her life. When she woke with a throbbing headache, at first disoriented she didn’t know where she was. Told she had been hit by a softball, she suddenly remembered everything. Atlas professing his love as he cut her throat and left her to die. But that was on a night in 2025. This softball game was in 2023. How had she gone back in time? Why? But a bigger question was why had Atlas murdered her. She needed to find answers. There were serious problems in 2025. Her grandfather was dying, sickening from some unknown cause. In 2023, at this time, he wouldn’t become ill for another six months. Then she remembered that Atlas had said that her family had been keeping things from her. This time around, Ren decided she would stand up to her family, her pack, she’d take an active part in everything going on between the wolves, vampires and witches. And she would start by breaking up with Atlas. Knowing what the next two years has coming, Ren attends pack meetings, as well as a meeting with the dragon King Drake and Dalinda, his wife, at her grandfather’s side. She fears telling anyone of her death and trip back in time. However, there is one who knows, who has seen the future, Dalinda, who warned her of what she had seen. Altas wasn’t alone when he took her life. Then children begin to go missing. At first two human children, then a wolf child, and a vampire child. All found dead, brutally murdered and let on the doorsteps, in territories of the supernaturals. They had to find out who was killing the children and trying to lay blame on the witches, vampires and wolves or there would be war. Ren learns of a tale of demon long ago defeated but still not totally destroyed that hinted at a group of rogues wishing to release it in order to take control of the territories. Could the children’s death be part of this? There is also the question of the inverted blooming lotus marking on Rens shoulder, which she had always been told she was born with. There are several rogue wolves living in the bayou, as well as whispers of dark secrets surrounding the area among other mysteries to solve. And Atlas isn’t the only man who loves Ren, Bellamy has long cared for her but never allowed her to see his feelings. Why? The story is filled with sensory imagery that made me feel like I was walking the streets of New Orleans. I enjoyed the descriptions of kitchen of The Vieux Carrè Kitchen, with its bustling cooks, their banter, and smells of their cuisine. The way she laid out Bourbon Street with happy drunken tourists with colorful beads draped around their necks and the music of jazz heard in the streets. While picturing the atmosphere of Royal Street with its soft lighting given off by the antique gas lamplights. I thoroughly enjoyed this book; I loved the feel, sights, sounds and smells of New Orleans. My heart broke for Bellamy since his love for Ren was easy to see in the way he watched over her. But always hidden in shadows. There were other characters that I am not certain how they will fit in but who intrigued me, none the less. One was Mr. Thompson, an old street beggar that Ren spoke with at night while, often bring him food left over from the kitchen. The story ends in a cliffhanger, and I am looking forward to more of this story. I recommend this urban fantasy for those who enjoy being immersed in an intriguing story with romance, mystery, supernatural beings, sites and sounds of New Orleans and demons that never die. All the while, wondering what you might do with a second chance.
The story is set in the vibrant city of New Orleans. I swear the city is a character in and of itself. Karina Espinosa really sets the stage with rich details, interesting characters, and a killer plot.
MFC Ren Rousseau is a wolf shifter who can't shift, and even being the granddaughter of the alpha doesn't save her from the pack's taunting. Nevertheless, she eventually found her place, in a kitchen as a professional chef. Before she was (maybe) murdered and traveled back in time, Ren was a doormat and kind of passive in the supernatural community. I love that with her second chance, she's got a little fire in her belly. She's not taking the same abuse and shrug-offs that she did before. In fact, this time around she's right in the thick of supernatural politics.
This is just a werewolf story; there's a gambit of supernatural creatures that call New Orleans home. There are werewolves and vampires, nymphs and dragons, and so many more. A lot of different factions and complicated politics. Something is stirring and creating an upheaval. Ren has taken it upon herself to stop it. I loved the mystery. Who is behind the unrest? What's their goal? Who will they target next? Slowly, it all comes together, forming a picture I'm not sure anyone will believe. It was so good. I kept wondering what would happen next.
There are two (kind of, maybe) love interests. Bellamy, the childhood friend and bodyguard who's shifting into something new. Then there's the (possibly murdering) ex, Atlas. I was so conflicted. There's chemistry and history with Bellamy, but he comes with his own issues. I didn't like his excluding Ren even if he thought he was protecting her. Then there's Atlas, who I liked (almost) from the start. From what I learned about him, this whole murdering business seems out of character. There has to be something that we're missing. He's way too devoted to Ren; it's out of character. The man was like a kicked puppy for the entire book, and I couldn't help but feel for the guy. I can't wait to see how this plays out. The romance is almost as interesting as the mystery.
Holy crap! I did not expect that ending. Like. What?! Fangs of Fate rocked my freaking world! I want more. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book. If you're a fan of urban fantasy, this is a must-read.
Okay, Fangs of Fate by Karina Espinosa? Yeah, that book straight-up grabbed me by the throat and dared me not to feel something—and I failed spectacularly. In the best way. Ren Rousseau is my kind of heroine: broken but bold, wounded but wicked smart, and with enough sass to make even the alpha-iest alpha think twice. She died, y’all. At the hands of the vampire heir she loved. Let me say that again for dramatic effect—the man she loved killed her. And now? She’s back. Two years before it all goes to hell. And this time, she’s watching everyone with new eyes and sharper claws (even if she still can’t shift). This isn’t your typical supernatural romance. This is messy, layered, high-stakes angst, with enough emotional tension to light a match just from the heat between Ren and her two very complicated men: • The vampire ex who makes my trust issues scream. • The childhood bodyguard wolf who went from loyal to lord-have-mercy overnight. Ren’s torn, not just between them, but between who she used to be and who she has to become to survive this second chance. And baby, the world she's in? Full of whispers, betrayals, ancient prophecies, and a mark on her shoulder that’s burning its way into something very not normal. There's talk of a Demon Child, supernatural politics heating up, and more secrets than a royal bloodline’s closet. And through it all, she’s not here to play nice. She’s here to win. To rewrite the ending that broke her. And I was right there with her, page after breathless page. This book gave me everything I crave in supernatural drama: ✅ Fated messes ✅ Second chance revenge arcs ✅ Protective wolves who look at her like she's it ✅ Forbidden, slow-burning tension that left me screaming internally ✅ And a heroine with a spine of steel and a heart that’s still learning how to heal. Karina Espinosa, you did that. You gave me a book I couldn’t put down and a heroine I’d follow into the flames. Ren’s story is just beginning, and I already know—when that mark ignites and the world burns, she’s not going down without taking the liars, the traitors, and maybe fate itself with her. Book two? I’m already pacing.
💭 Thank you, Booksprout, for the ARC copy. I am writing this review voluntarily and honestly.
I have to admit that I'm not a fan of books with werewolves or vampires, but this one really caught my attention because of its synopsis. The plot structure, characters, and locations are well-crafted and constructed. It's a short, quick-to-read novel that immerses us in the life of Ren, a werewolf who cannot transform. Everyone rejects her and thinks she's weak, but Ren has so much more inside. Something powerful and incredible. And as the dragon queen said, Ren is both inside and outside of time itself, endangering his own existence by being a paradox.
There are some details that didn't quite convince me. The book is quite short, but it doesn't end with a compelling read-along. In fact, I don't understand why everything doesn't happen in the same book. Among other things, Ren seems to me to be a very annoying protagonist and even unbearable or childish at times, but Bellamy saves everything.
I liked Bellamy from the start, more than anyone else. I can't help but grow fond of him. I found him very funny and endearing, although I still have a feeling he's going to be the bad guy and not Atlas. 😂 Honestly, I'm going to wait for the second book. I want to know what happens to him and how he reacts to Ren's transformation.
The author handled the tense scenes and the mystery Ren has to solve very well. At times, it seemed a bit heavy-handed because of her attitude, but I love how everything led to more confusions and misunderstandings between the characters and the supernatural races. It's a monster romance that, although it's not one of my favorites yet, I'm going to recommend in every Bookstagram post because it has lovely characters and a very good plot idea.
I wish the author of this book every success and hope it reaches the full audience he intends. Best of luck!
Fangs of Fate by Karina Espinosa completely pulled me in with its mix of time travel, political intrigue, and paranormal drama. I couldn’t put it down once the story really got moving!
We follow Ren Rousseau, who dies—and then wakes up two years in the past with the rare chance to prevent her own murder. That premise alone hooked me. What followed was a twisty, layered story with supernatural factions, betrayals, romance, and characters that felt incredibly real. Ren is such a strong and complex heroine—fierce, emotional, and determined. I loved that we also got a dual POV with Chance, her vampire ex, which added tension and insight into the plot.
At first, the pacing was a little slow, but I’m so glad I stuck with it because once it picked up, I was all in. The world-building is immersive—vampires, shifters, fae, even demons—and it all felt well-developed and original. I was constantly surprised by where the story went; it was full of twists I didn’t see coming, and I mean that in the best way.
There’s also just the right amount of spice, emotional stakes, and action to keep things interesting. And the chemistry? Whew. 🔥 Let’s just say, I already need book two, like… yesterday.
If you’re into paranormal fantasy with a badass female lead, intricate politics, and a “can’t-trust-anyone” kind of tension, you’re going to love this. It reminded me of the feel I got reading Fourth Wing—just darker and with more fangs.
Highly recommend for fans of fantasy romance, shifter/vampire worlds, and second-chance dynamics.
‘Fangs of Fate’ is creative, original, unpredictable, and well written. I am the one everyone sitting on my sofa during movie hates because about halfway through I’ll ‘tsk’ and ‘sigh’—they know that means I already figured the whole plot out. Not with this one. Author Karina Espinosa has successfully kept me guessing the entire time.
With loyalties continually questioned, surprises popping up around every corner, and questions repeatedly left unanswered ‘FofF’ kept me on the cusp of knowing without causing frustration—All I feel is anticipation for Book 2.

I inhaled this book like Cookie Monster tearing through a fresh batch of chocolate chip delights. This is a story about Ren, a shifter who can't shift. In an act of betrayal, she's murdered by the love of her life, a vampire named Atlas. She wakes up two years in the past, completely confused. Knowing she has a second chance, she realizes she has to unravel the truth behind her death before history repeats itself.
She uncovers the early stirrings of a supernatural war, tangled alliances, and secrets far deeper than she ever imagined. As she navigates through this, she has to reconcile her feelings for past Atlas and the man that k** her in the future. You can feel the distress & grief for Atlas when is forced to k***her and there in the past when he is absolutely heartbroken when she breaks up with him without so much of an explanation. There is a bit of a love triangle with Bellamy, her bodyguard. Sadly, I'm assuming this is not a reverse harem or why-choose. Will she figure everything out and stop the war?
If you have read The Blackened Blade by Isla Davon there are similarities in plot. Both heroines are thrown back in time after they are killed in the future.
Fangs of Fate by Karina Espinosa explores that oft-posed question - If you could go back and change the past, would you? Ren Rousseau, granddaughter of the pack alpha and member of the ruling elite in New Orleans, is wolf-less and the black sheep of her pack. Her boyfriend, the son of the vampire leader, coldly murders her one evening while begging her to forgive him as her world fades to black. Ren wakes up and finds she has been transported back 2 years in the past, but retains her memories. She is determined to figure out what is going on in New Orleans and prevent her murder in the future.
This story is very original and imaginative. The worldbuilding is outstanding and I felt like I was in New Orleans with Ren. The secondary characters are great, too. The brooding bodyguard Bellamy, the handsome and charismatic ex-boyfriend Atlas, and her best friend Winter all add depth and complexity to the story. The action is non-stop, and the mystery of what is stirring out in the swamp is very compelling. The cliffhanger ending was very well done and I can't wait to see where the story is headed in the next book. This is definitely a recommended read for all paranormal romance and urban fiction fans.

Fangs of Fate is a story about a wolfless wolf shifter who is murdered by a loved one and sent back in time 2 years earlier. She decides to do things differently this time around. It made sense that she wanted to do things differently but I found it surprising that she wasn't more heartbroken by what happened to her, especially considering who do it.
Overall, the story was interesting but I didn't agree with all the heroines actions. I also didn't like that her family and possibly Bellamy are hiding things from her. I do think that Bellamy was on her side though and felt she should have confided in him. Lots of secrecy going around in this book. I found it frustrating. The romance was pretty non-existent. There was some sexual tension between her and Bellamy and I I think he has feelings for her but nothing came of that.
This book ends in a cliffhanger. I'll probably read the next book to find out what happens next.

Karina definitely knows how to tell a story. I was hooked from the beginning and sucked in until the end. This first book in the SHADOWS OF THE CRESCENT series was so interesting and intriguing, I knew that this would quickly become a favorite series
Ren, the granddaughter of the alpha, is a fabulous chef in the French quarter but never got her Wolf. As a dud, she is not thought very well of by the rest of the pack, but she does everything she can to be the best of whatever she can be.
When her boyfriend Atlas, who is actually a vampire, kills her one night, she wakes up to it being years prior. Now she has to figure out why she returned to this point, who she really is and why are other factions are trying to kill her (especially the man she loved), and how to stop things from happening. Her best friend and shadow, Bellamy, is trying to help her, and things are definitely not what they seem.
Gaaaahhh, I don't want to ruin the story, so just read it!!
I am excited for this new series from Karina Espinosa and be warned the story ends on a cliff hanger and I am going to have bitten nails to wait and see what happens next. Karina writes great feisty, strong and vulnerable female protagonists that, for me, I enjoy getting to discover, connect and engage with and on this occasion, Ren is a lovely, complex and intriguing woman. Another bonus to the book it is set in one of my favourite cities, New Orleans with the background details and description of the sights, sounds and smells drawing me in and bringing me right into the heart of the narrative and city. I enjoy books that set supernatural elements in current times, have a good, decent sense of humour to the banter of the characters and in general, add in some magic and the trios of witches, werewolves and vampires and I am sold. Enjoyable, entertaining, engaging and excited for next instalment.

Book one of incomplete series. This paranormal fantasy follows the trope of reincarnation revenge. Our heroine is murdered by her lover and returns to life two years ago. She is the granddaughter of a wolf shifter pack's Alpha but has never shifted, so she became a chef in New Orleans. Her lover of 8 years is the Vampire prince, and she has a loyal hunk of a wolf bodyguard. Her best friend is the Witch princess. Once she wakes up two years before her death, she decided to pay attention to politics and figure out mysteries and why she was killed. So far the story was somewhat predictable, but maybe it will turn into a reverse harem and become interesting. She has a potential vampire, wolf and a dark witch and together they can unite the factions and save the world from the evil demon.
This is a clever story with so much going on. Ren Rousseau is a female shifter unable to shift. She is in love with a vampire named Atlas who betrays her trust and kills her. When she regains consciousness, she has ended up two years in the past! This will give her a second chance to investigate and find out what happened and why. Can she find the truth this time around by involving herself in everything going on around her? Or is it impossible to change the future?
There is so much more in this story, but I didn’t want to add another full chapter to the book trying to tell you all about it. The book will easily hold your attention and give you much to think about.
Okay I'm addicted! I loved Ren and the revelations she goes through. I loved Atlas & Bellamy and how this story unfolds. The world building is so good with each chapter I got even more invested then the next! And the last few chapters had me gasping and crying. It had my hope and heart in my throat at the possibility of what could be then my heart broke and shattered into a thousand pieces. I hope Bellamy has some redemption because what he did broke me. And I'm rooting for him and Ren!!!!!! That tension was EVERYTHING!!!!!! And that ending I'm still trying to pick up my jaw and my heart! There's so much going on! This book was perfection and more so!!!! I can't wait for the next book!!!!
loved it !! a great start for this new series !! love, love, love Ren !!! and Bellamy and Winter.. Atlas ? not so much !!! but, you'll see... this is their story... a fast paced action packed drama... Ren is the black sheep of her very important family and her ex is very important as well and he kills her... she comes back two years before her death and must find out why and stop it !!! and it all comes out but... is it ? only her bestie Winter knows the truth of Ren's situation and Bellamy is there to guard her and maybe a bit more ? and what made Atlas kill her ? or who ? he didn't seem to want to do it... hummmm... so good !!!.

At first, I couldn't get into the book. I think I made it to chapter 5 before taking a few hours to decide if I should go ahead and read the book. I'm glad I did.
This is a fast pace that is quite confusing due to the inability to keep the time line straight but it is slow enough to pause and think about it to get it right.
The characters are well written - enough to be able to picture them in your head. Though, it is really tough to figure out the alpha heir.
This series is promising to keep you on your toes - unable to figure out the plot until the end. I had so many plots running around in my head and it turned out to be 2 mixed. Very well written.
Amazing - read in 1 day Seriously, this story had me from the get go. Love the microtrope where they travel back in time for a do-over. When her boyfriend is the culprint, she wants to stay away this round, but it's not always easy. There are a lot of secrets being kept and Ren is no longer willing to keep her head in the sand. Now that she's back 2 years in the past, we've got a bit of a love triange situation as well. Ren is busy trying to stop the factions from infighting, but there's something deeper and darker that she can't escape from. Definitely ends on a cliffhanger and I can't wait for the next book.
This paranormal fantasy captivated me from the start. The plot very intriguing and had me quickly turning pages to get questions answered. The writing and world building were remarkable, in a way that made it easy to visibly see the story unfold.
We have our FMC who is a wolf shifter, who is unable to shift. She was murdered by her boyfriend and time traveled back in time and needs to figure out why he did this to her as well as keep it from happening again. Or are we missing something? Did he do this?
The storyline was unique and the suspense made it hard for me to put down. The ending caught me off guard and has me in dire need of the next book. So good!
I absolutely hate that this left off on a cliffhanger with no idea when the next book comes out. Ren is a werewolf without a wolf. Her entire life she's been walked all over and overlooked by her pack. Then she was betrayed by the one person that she loved the most Atlas her boyfriend. And just as she starts to open her heart to Bellamy her bodyguard he breaks her heart. After being murdered and waking up 2 years in the past she's trying to figure out what brought on the Betrayal. But she really doesn't know who she can trust.

I loved reading Fangs of Fate. The characters are interesting and extremely well developed, especially Ren. I enjoyed the atmosphere from the book being set in New Orleans, and the scenes in the restaurant kitchen were just as engaging as the scenes involving the supernatural world. The storyline was engrossing, and the ending just left me saying "wow." I can't wait to see where the story goes from there. I highly recommend this book to urban fantasy readers.

Fangs of Fate is the first book in the Shadows of the Crescent series. It is an interesting tale that starts in the present and then takes us back two years in the past of the main character, Ren Rousseau. She has a mystery to solve and her life depends on it. The past is the same, yet it is not, and her future depends on her figuring out this mystery.
The book is entertaining with a storyline that has magic, paranormal supernatural action, a love story, intrigue, a life or death mystery to solve, and more.

This is the first book in the Shadows of the Crescent series and I have to say, I didn't have any expectations going into this book, but boy... it flipped me upside down. What a great start to a new series. The concept of the book was fascinating and the way the story was told had me in it's grip firmly. Highly recommended.

This book was FANTASTIC!! I was intrigued right from the start! Lots of humor and banter as well as some angst. But the mystery is what kept me reading! One thing I have to say is that I never really like cliff hangers but this one was GREAT!! lol can’t wait to read the next book!!
This book is amazing! I would love a sequel! The setting is New Orleans, LA with the supernatural folklore that weaves throughout the entire book. I love how the characters play off of each other and the twist ending leaves you wanting more to find out what happens next in Rens life.
