Kuno, a former soldier, is searching for fortune. But not just as any ordinary adventurer. True power comes from making alliances with the alluring dungeon goddesses. Armed with a mysterious journal, his trusty axes, and no small amount of courage, he must navigate treacherous dungeons and prove his worth.
The prize? Exclusive access to the goddesses' domains.
With each goddess offering unique challenges and tantalizing rewards, will Kuno forge the alliances he needs to uncover a legendary hidden treasure?
Outwit his foes. Win the goddesses' favor. Assemble a band of powerful allies to become the ultimate Dungeon God. This omnibus contains all four books of the Dungeon God series.
Frankly, the whole thing feels......vapid. There's these goddesses that guard "dungeons" (big caves, apparently) for...uh....reasons? And also you can only bargain with the goddesses by sleeping with them. Because reasons. And of course the main character is very attractive to all these goddesses. AND the two women he met to go into dungeons with him. Because reasons. More than a hundred pages in and there's literally no backstory or motivation and the characters are paper thin.
It's also very what I'd call "m'lady" coded. As in, the two female companion characters seem to lose all their agency and capability as soon as they hook up with the main character to do dungeons. One of them is supposed to be very experienced about getting to and from the caves and navigating the early bits, but the instant they shake on it the dude becomes the one in charge. There's also a whole lot of "don't worry I'll protect you from the scary stuff" and it seems to be the MC's only character trait. Also the dark haired one instantly wants to jump in bed with the MC after knowing him for literally a day and despite him having all the charm of an unlabeled tin of beans.
Give this series a pass. There's so many better options out there.
This fantasy story is days full of action and adventure! The characters are fleshed out so that you will feel like part of them. The magics are wonderfully solid, not given to everyone, just hero, crew, and the antagonists. I really enjoyed everything in this series. If you enjoy great fantasy, you will enjoy this one.
If you enjoy fantasy involving dungeons , monsters , romance then this series is just right for you. I am hoping the author continues this series , would love a book # 5
I was a little surprised to see that we got to read all four books together, but it was a great way to get through the entire story. This book doesn’t have a lot of lit RPG stuff in it, but the flow of the story is very good and it’s not too risqué.
A very shallow story. The repetitiveness of the character’s thoughts is as if the author is targeting readers that can’t remember what they read a few pages previously.
I have enjoyed reading this and look forward to similar books becoming availiable,it's just the way the stories never became predictable, but the story line flowed,
