The Lost Letters #3

Until the End

Rate this book
Ginny

I didn’t plan on being a runaway bride…but when I caught my fiance banging one of my bridesmaids on our wedding day, my world got flipped upside down.

In my panic, I called the one person who wouldn’t ask any questions—my best friend, Carson James. He took one look at me and got us out of there fast.

Unfortunately, I can’t just run away without consequences. As country music’s biggest star, people have a lot to say about my life and the choices I make.

When someone begins to send me threatening letters, Carson becomes one of the few people I trust to keep me safe. The only problem is, I’ve gone and fallen in love with him.

How am I supposed to hide my feelings from the only man who has ever seen the real me?

Carson

I’ve been in love with Ginny Miller since we were kids.

She has no idea. I’ve never told her, and I don’t plan to, especially since she’s supposed to marry someone else. At least, that was the plan—then she asked me to help her run away from her own wedding.

I thought that would be the end of it. We’d hide out until the frenzy died down and things would go back to normal.

Instead, some lunatic starts stalking Ginny, and in my quest to protect her, I’ve only fallen more in love with her. I didn’t think that was possible.

There’s no way to hide how I feel about her, but what happens when those feelings are the reason she’s in danger

Before walking down the aisle, Country music’s sweetheart, Ginny walks in to find her fiancé with one of her bridesmaid. She locks herself in a room and calls the one person she can count on, Carson. The childhood best friends jet but it doesn’t take long her trouble to find them.

My heart, Carson and Ginny stole my heart from the beginning. Childhood best friends to Lovers is one of my top tropes and Shelby Gunter delivered with Until the End.
My favorite part will always be the adorable nicknames [Duck & Goose] and childhood letter throughout this book. From the mutual pining to the adorable and playful banter, I ate this book up! Carson and Ginny melted my heart and the spice was everything!!!

The suspense in the book was 10/10 – I don’t want to give too much away but I was flipping my kindle at record speed to see what would happen!

I love the Lost Letters Series! That sneak peek.. I cannot wait for book 4!

Special thanks to Shelby for allowing me to read Until the End early!

I started reading this series and fell in love with the way Shelby Gunter writes a story. With this friends to lovers you get a little suspense sprinkled in this story. I love a friends to lovers especially with the way you know Carson and Ginny are meant to be.

Ginny is a star and has worked hard for what she has become. But when she walks out of her wedding with her best friend, you already know where this story is going. I loved that she had that one person to go to when she needed them.
Carson is the friend you want by your side when things go wrong. He is loyal and I loved him from the start. He has this golden retriever vibe that is so lovable.

I really loved these two together and couldn't imagine them with anyone else.
Theo Sinclair and Chloe Ryan have narrated the first 3 books in this series and I think they did just as great with this one. I thought both narrators brought this story to life in a great way that will keep you listening. I felt they had the emotions in their voices where needed. I really looked forward to listening to them both more.

Now to wait for the next book of the series..

I received this book as an ARC. I usually avoid the “rockstar” troupe. But I am so glad I didn’t this time. Ginny is a country music star that has been pushed and pulled (manipulated) into a version of herself that she no longer recognizes. When she finally takes back control it’s with the help of her childhood best friend, Carson. But not everyone is happy with her changes. Someone seems out to ruin her happiness. Carson is determined to keep her safe. The more time they spend together the harder it is to stay just friends, especially when they have always loved each other. Expect a golden retriever boyfriend that will stop at nothing to make all her dreams come true. And spoiler, it doesn’t take much for them to admit their feelings. You will also see lots of the second generation of found family from the Sonoma series.

I am loving this second generation series. Ginny and Carson are best friends who became lovers.
Ginny is not in a good place, getting ready to marry a man she is not sure she even likes, a successful country singer, and not enjoying that life either. Carson is headed to a wedding of his best friend marrying another man.

Carson successfully helps her run away from her wedding, and as she relaxes and adjusts to a new normal, her safety is now in question as a stalker is now in the picture. With Carson by her side, they grow closer, and feelings are addressed.

This was an easy read for me, I was hooked into Ginny and Carson’s story. There is a hint at where we will be going next. I am looking forward to the next book.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

I really liked Carson. He's a great guy. I liked the way he and Ginny moved from friends to lovers. The two of them are perfect together. I enjoyed the stalker mystery. I had no clue who it was. The overall plot was good and I like all the characters. This was a good book I read in a couple of hours.

This is a friends to lovers small town romance. This book can be read standalone.

Ginny is a runaway bride and a world famous country singer. Carson who has been in love with Ginny since they were kids helps Ginny escape her wedding. As Ginny and Carson grow closer they have to worry about their safety.

If you are looking for a sweet cinnamon roll MMC who puts his woman first Carson is your man. It was nice to see Ginny and Carson give in to their feelings for each other, Ginny finding love after running away from her wedding. And Carson stepping up and finally telling Ginny he feels and doing everything to keep her by his side.

I appreciated Shelby had the characters address how the relationship could seem one sided since it was a concern of mine also. I also enjoyed all the characters new and from Shelby’s previous books coming together and seeing what they were up to.

The series called The Lost Letters, but the letters seemed secondary to the story. In my opinion they really didn’t add or takeaway from the story they were just there.

I have been in a book mood where Carson even being protective of Ginny he was a bit too sweet for me. I’m in the mood for more of a bossy/rude jerk. Carson and Ginny are perfect for each other, and this is a good story. I was just in mood for something a little darker, but that’s not the book’s fault.

This is a sweet friends to lovers story. Ginny and Carson are perfect for each other. Shelby did a great job of making a relationship with a famous singer work when that lifestyle is not the easiest to write a romance around. This story epilogue hinted at another story with Michael, and I am intrigued and looking forward to it.

I was honored to receive an ARC.

Carson and Ginny

FMC: Ginny Miller
MMC: Carson James
Spice: 🌶️🌶️
Pages: 250
Tropes: Celebrity Romance, Friends to Lovers, Runaway Bride, Romantic Suspense, He Falls First, Rockstar Romance, Only One Bed, Mutual Pining, Small Town Romance
Setting: Las Angeles, CA; Sonoma, NC

Thoughts: This book was nothing like I expected it to be. I really enjoyed the development of Ginny and Carson’s relationship as it turned from a friendship to a romantic relationship. I loved how Carson forced Ginny to communicate and think about what they were doing before they jumped right in. He may have loved her from afar for years, but he refused to be a rebound or a fling, if he and Ginny were going to change their relationship, it was all or nothing for him. I was pleasantly surprised with the fact that Ginny and Carson didn’t just jump into a relationship the night she fled her wedding. Ginny needed time and distance to wrap her head around the life she thought she’d have changing and Carson gave her that. They had a great group of friends and a large chosen family that supported them in their relationship and the problems they encountered with Ginny’s celebrity status. This was a great addition to the series and I cannot wait for Michael’s story next!

Ginny is a famous country music artist and an escaped bride. With Carson's assistance, who has cherished her since childhood, Ginny flees her wedding. As Ginny and Carson approach, they need to be concerned for their safety.

Carson is a kind cinnamon roll MMC who puts his women first if that's what you seek. Following her escape from the wedding, Ginny discovered love, and it was heartwarming to witness her and Carson express their feelings for each other. Moreover, Carson stepped up, finally expressed his feelings to Ginny, and did everything possible to keep her with him.

As it was a concern of mine too, I appreciated how Shelby had the characters acknowledge the relationship's potential one-sidedness. I enjoyed seeing all of Shelby's characters, both familiar and new, unite and observe their actions.

It's a delightful story of friends becoming lovers. Carson and Ginny complement each other perfectly. Although crafting a romance centered on a relationship with a famous singer is challenging, Shelby succeeded remarkably in making it compelling. This story's epilogue contained a hint about a different tale featuring Michael, and I'm thrilled about it.

Adored this book!
I have fallen in love with these characters after reading their parents love stories in the first series. I couldn't wait to read Ginny and Carson's story.

Best friend to lovers, Carson has always loved Ginny but didn't want to hold her back from her dreams of being a singer. While away, Ginny gets engaged, and as much as it kills Carson, he attends her wedding. Until he's told she needs him and will only talk to him, when he goes to her, she asks him to help her get out.

Some things I loved about this book:
- How much Carson loved her, he would do anything for her
- How their relationship was still a friendship underneath, beautiful to watch them both navigate how to tell each other their true feelings
- How even though Ginny was a star, she still cared for Carson and wanted to make sure he pursued his dreams as well

Loved the teaser for Michaels book, I can't wait!

Best-friends-to-soulmates. 🥹 Until the End is tender, emotional, and quietly unforgettable — the kind of romance that sneaks up on you and stays. Shelby Gunter perfectly captures the sweetness of falling for someone who’s been there all along. It’s about growing up together, falling apart, and finding your way back, not perfectly, but beautifully. There’s something about friends-to-lovers stories that always feels earned — and Until the End delivers that in the most heartfelt way. Shelby Gunter captures the sweetness of shared history and the ache of crossing that line into something more.

Shelby Gunter has a gift for writing love stories that hurt and heal at the same time and it’s wonderful! Add in a stalker mystery twist and this romance becomes a suspense/thriller romance that is Shelby Gunter’s specialty!!

Until the End by Shelby Gunter is the third installment in the Lost Letters Series.

Rating: 4.5/5

I’d like to thank Shelby Gunter for this ARC copy.

If you enjoy friends to lovers, this is a great one!

Tropes:
Small town
Friends to lovers
Runaway bride

After Ginny finds her fiancé making out with someone that isn’t her, on her wedding day, that was it. She needed out and she called the one person that would always be there for her, her best friend!

Carson has been in love with Ginny for years but didn’t want to hurt their friendship so he kept it to himself. Even when she was getting married, he buried his feelings because all he wanted was her to be happy.

Ginny and Carson find that they can’t hide their feelings from one another and all they could hope for is that they both felt the say way!

Just a few of the tropes you’ll love about this book. I’ve been reading the Sonoma series since the first generation and love getting to see how they’re all growing up.
Ginny and Carson have been best friends forever and after rescuing her from her wedding day they begin to realize how they both feel and that they can make things work between them. The suspense will keep you on your toes throughout and the love and banter will keep you wanting more. And that sneak peek at the next book-Shelby, you have rocked it once again! After getting little snippets in book 2 of Ginny being unhappy and keeping things from her friends and family, I was ready to read her story. I loved that she knew she could call on Carson no matter what. Getting to see these two get their story and their happily ever after was so good. Ginny and Carson were perfect!! I loved how Carson was there for Ginny and showed her that he wasn't going anywhere. He would follow her to the ends of the earth. LOVED ever second of this book.

I’m a sucker for small town romance + friends to lovers. Shelby did an amazing job reconnecting Ginny and Carson when Gin needed it most. The nicknames, the history, and the chemistry was off the page with these two!!! I loved watching them transition into a romantic relationship and learning what the other likes and dislikes. My favorite part would have to be their first date!!!

Ginny and Carson were so cute. They were set up really well at the end of book two and I FULLY enjoyed that we did not have to suffer through the lack of communication trope - the does he like me, does she like me, they were adults, said what they said and went for it. Small Suspense which is appreciated and HEA - all around pretty good.

Friends to lovers perfection

Shelby Gunter does was she does best: romance with a splash of suspense. After the first two books in the series, I couldn't wait for these two to finally be together, and the drama and twists were just right.

i am 2000% living for this second generation. carson was *just* the right man to pull ginny from the rubble. i've also been waiting on ginny's story since everybody seemed to be worried about her.
these two were the definition of childhood bffs-->lovers. years of behind the scenes pining. and don't even get me started on how protective carson is. this man. him literally being the only one ginny trusted to get her away from her wedding. the hiding out. him showing up day after day. the nicknames. his letters thru the book were a++ and whoever was after ginny. it all just kept me flipping.
i feel like by the time ginny and carson finally acknowledge that hey, they want to be together then a huge weight was lifted off ginny's shoulders. and her being home and surrounded by her girls (and crew) was something that she desperately needed so she could find herself again. ginny was a fighter. once she exploded her life and realized that things weren't at all what they seemed or what she wanted them to be, she didn't take any of that lying down. she definitely made things clear and used her voice.
i love that they're still trying to figure out who's letters were in noah's house. 'the scooby doo gang' will always have my heart and i love that shelby put this in this second gen. thank you, Shelby Gunter for putting these two together. they were great as characters apart but perfect as a team in their relationship. true testament that no matter how long the wait, that if they're meant to be then they'll find a way.
