Tainted takes everything that hooked me in Kinked and turned the tension, emotion, and heat all the way up.
The authors delivered complicated characters, deliciously messy relationships, secrets, possessiveness, and enough emotional tension to keep me turning pages when I should have been sleeping.
If you loved Kinked, you absolutely need to keep going. Like I did. Just do it.

Back for more Ledger!
The story is good; continues to be smutty but loses a smidge of the kink aspect that pulled me in in the first book. This one leans more into Irie & Ledger's developing relationship, their trauma and how they grow through it. Ledger is still a delightfully jealous and obsessed mess the whole time though. Loved the epilogue as well, without spoiling anything it turned out exactly the way I hoped it would!
The story is fantastic. The unfortunate part is that the editing still leaves much to be desired. There are more grammar/spelling errors than in the first book. Notably, Chapter 37 is completely duplicated - it goes Chapter 36, 37, 37, 38. I thought was super tired and had accidentally scrolled back somehow. Genuinely enjoyed the story itself, but the errors increasing in book 2 is disappointing. It makes it hard to read through. Hoping Book 3 comes out soon and perhaps gets a second set of eyes on it.

Good story
I think I enjoyed the first book more than this one. I just feel that all of the things that were meant to be hurdles for them to jump were more like speed bumps. Without giving away details, I would have like the issues that were brought up (like her realizing who Ledger really was at the end of book 1) to have been explored more to make the story more compelling. I do love a happy ending though.
