My Mother, the Butcher is one hell of a debut poetry chapbook. This book wells with urgency and heartache, a poignant new voice continuing the esteemed tradition of visceral, confessional poetry.

The one titled, How to Raise a Poet, gutted me. If this is not the purpose of art, I don't know what is.
