Dear Benjamin is a BL Omegaverse Manhwa that features a relationship between an Alpha Italian arms dealer and who we are led to believe is JUST a regular Omega florist, pretending to be a Beta. They met 4 years prior and an accidental pregnancy during a Heat led to a baby that the Alpha doesn’t know is his, nor does he know that he’s even met the florist before. So already there is a lot of depth and even more secrets between them.
There are a lot of mysteries and plot holes left to be filled that I know will come later, but I’m a needy **bleep** that always wants answers immediately. 😭😭😭 I’m getting 50 Shades of Grey meets Mr & Mrs Smith vibes atm, but set in an Omegaverse world. I’m excited for volume 2 to see how it progresses and to see what else is about to happen to these hot hunky men!

This was such an entertaining omegaverse. Aside from a few distracting editing errors, I was riveted throughout. The plot was well thought out, the steamy scenes were firey, and the characters were likable.
Felix amused me because of how quickly and extravagantly he became a total goner for Isaac. He's a bit of a spoiled brat at times, but he means well for those he cares about.
Isaac is a harder read for understandable reasons. He's been on the run and how can he feel a sense of belonging when he can't settle? How can he open his heart when life has taught him that he can't be with the people he loves? I'm most excited to see his growth in volume two.
The novel has some gorgeous pictures throughout in addition to the story. I'm eager to see how this all wraps up, especially with Isaac's biggest secrets yet to be revealed to Felix.

Please note I read the novel version (I had scanned the isbn with the goodreads app and it brought me to this. This is not the cover for the book I had read. So unsure if correct version tbh.)
SPOILERS BTW
The writing was not superb by any means, but still interesting and written well enough for me to keep reading and keep me intrigued. Also mind you I am not versed in ANYTHING omegaverse related at all. I don't know anything besides what I read in the beginning of the book (and some stuff I obviously have read online.)
So, I am left with a lot of questions that have no been answered YET
- who stole the envelope with the paternity/dna test results from tony? i'm kind of guessing isaac's dad or some one who works for him but that has yet to be revealed.
- how can felix and isaac have sex with no mention of lube/foreplay etc. just going straight for it WITHOUT felix finding out isaac is an omega. when isaac is always worried about felix finding out?
or is it just a magic assumption they used lube and are magically prepared? (cause wouldnt felix be able to tell isaac's already like ready down there?)
- did felix actually bite isaac in the very first chapter? because it was pretty clear it was felix and mentioned throughout the book that felix and benjamin (isaac's kid) look similar. AND this could also explain why felix is ridiculously attracted to isaac?
I'm sure I had more questions but I can't think of them right now.
Anyways to my review, since I am not informed on omegaverse dynamics at all. This was not mentioned super often, and did not have a ton of aspects that I am aware of. It was just mentioned sporadically that certain characters were an alpha, beta or omega etc. And ofc slick was mentioned with Isaac, and Felix when he had his rut and Isaac when he had his heat in the first chapter. But it really was pretty sporadic. So I feel like it was kind of a good introduction and I wasn't thrown into reading something I was not sure if I would enjoy.
There was ofc sex scenes, but not SO many I got the ick. Cause it's just a personal preference I don't like a ton of sex scenes.
It could be a translation error or maybe the author really did write like this - but why does Felix always basically try and eat Isaac's face every time they kiss? He is so aggressive it does not sound appealing AT ALL.
Anyways to the plot, this was pretty interesting though some parts kind of feel like it dragged on a bit. There was a lot of stuff that happened in the plot regarding like Isaac's son, Felix and Isaac's growing relationship and things like that. The mafia bit seemed more like a subplot like oh yeah Felix has mafia ties but there was way less drama from that than I was expecting. Unless that was the point and he is trying to lie low? I just need more back story on Felix actually.
In the last few chapters Benjamin and Isaac's mom get kidnapped, and Felix's cousin basically throws all this info at Felix about Isaac's life cause he is a hacker and found out all this top secret information. And it all felt like it kind of escalated quickly, but at the same time felt like it matched the pace of the story.
But the ending?! Big cliff hanger of course. And I wasn't even expecting myself to get so invested in this book and was pleasantly surprised. I am definitely going to read the next book.

This story is a really interesting mix of tropes and genres. The omegaverse setting pairs really nicely with the romantic suspense housing, where we have two interesting, powerful men who are strongly drawn together despite the very good reasons that they shouldn't be. In addition to this push and pull between the two main characters, there's also a strong external villain/enemy that adds urgency and suspense to the story as the reader wonders who Isaac could possibly be running from who could be worse news than Felix, a dangerous arms dealer with his own grudge against Isaac.
The opening chapters make it clear that Isaac is a lot more than the simple florist he is pretending to be, otherwise he wouldn't be raiding Felix's island wearing full tactical gear as some kind of police/military/mercenary mission. But this opening volume doesn't give you much information to start solving this mystery.
In general, the plot is fast-moving and paced well. There's a good amount of secondary characters to make the universe feel more realistic, and there's some good humour around Felix's lack of awareness about dating and how to make Isaac into his boyfriend rather than a contracted partner: trading sex for security does not equal dating.
The art is also really smooth, though it's a shame the artist had to change with only 10 or so chapters left in the story. It's always a little off-putting when you get used to one style and vision of the characters only to have to change it.
Overall, I enjoyed this, but there were elements that felt very cliched and the romance developed with less chemistry and drama than I was hoping for. It felt a little too smooth sailing between Felix, who is supposed to be a pretty volatile arms dealer and bad boy, and Isaac who has his own strong will and secrets. Nevertheless, a good story with sufficient drama to keep in interesting, just nothing mind-blowingly original.

Given the mature warning on the cover and the omegaverse setting, the explicit nature of the story is not surprising. What is surprising, however, is the world building with the secret services and missions that start off the story. While it hasn't been confirmed, everything points to the original encounter four years before the main story also being between our two main characters (Isaac and Felix). For all that Felix claims to hate omegas, especially after that first encounter that he doesn't realize was also Isaac, he makes several suggestions and comments that hint he wouldn't mind Isaac actually being an omega, especially if it means that he can claim him. With all of this piled up, it's surprising that Isaac would even want to consider continuing any sort of relationship with Felix after potentially needing to pull up all of his roots yet again. We end on a rather tense cliffhanger however, with no idea who is now holding the gun, which is a pretty good hook to wanting the next volume in order to discover what is going to happen with all of this cloak and dagger, let alone their tentative relationship.

Finalmente lo tengo en mis manos... Después de leerlo en digital me propuse adquirirlo en físico.
Las escenas íntimas entre los protagonistas fueron muy candentes...... La historia ya la conocía pero aún así me emocionaba en cada escena que me gustaba.

If you’re into Omegaverse as a genre this was great. The writing (or maybe the translation?) was distracting at times but it didn’t take away from the story. Probably a 4.5 rounded up.
