Wellness isn't a destination - it's a dance between your choices and your consciousness.
Overall, this was a fun book to read. It popped up on my library's list of new books and the premise sounded interesting enough! Some of the tips were great, some were basic, and some were downright interesting. Overall, though, I liked the Inflammation Code. It approaches wellness from not just what you eat, but really a whole body, mind, and spirit shift.
A few things I looked up while reading this book: - When/where can I go to an Ayurveda retreat in India... because it now needs to happen. The more it pushes me, the better. Do I want to suffer in the name of whole body detox? Absolutely. - I need to switch my cutting boards ASAP. Which ones should I get to replace my current plastic boards? I have already switch to glass storage, metal water bottles for the family, no more tin foil, new ceramic pots/pans, and other switches to align with a safe and healthier home. - If I am Vata, are there cookbooks just for me? The answer: oh yeah! Note that this book contains a few recipes and tips for success, but not many. Also, I definitely need to increase my consumption of Indian food because, not only is it delicious, obviously the seasonings and spices are KEY to health. - I cannot find Shivani Gupta's 14-day detox on her website or the complete toolkit, but it contains a lot of other interesting things!
