When my husband chose divorce over having a child, I fled to Haven Point.
My aunt Margaret and her friends welcome me with open arms. I’m embraced with love and strong faith.I find strength and comfort in my growing friendship with Dr. Zeke Whitcrest.
A former Army doctor with wounds of his own. He possesses quiet strength, a cautious heart, and an honest faith.
A fierce storm leaves me trapped alone and in labor. When floodwaters rise and darkness presses in, it's Zeke who risks everything to reach me. He teaches me what it means to lay down your life for a friend.
I never intended to let my guard down. Or to fall in love again. But through Zeke’s friendship, shared laughter, and whispered prayers, God is healing both of our wounded hearts.
Zeke says there could be a future for us here in Haven Point. Can I find the courage to trust again, or will fear hold me back from embracing the blessings waiting for me?
Perfect for readers who love clean romance with Christian themes and inspiration. This is Book 1 in the Haven Point series, creating small-town Happily Ever Afters. The books are connected but can be read in any order.
I don’t even remember how I found out about this book but I’m so glad I did. Is my first book by Grace Jordan and it absolutely will not be the last.
While this is listed as a romance and that’s true, it is so much more. In fact, the romance is an extremely slow burn and really doesn’t come to fruition until right at the end of the book.
The story is a faith journey for both Rachel and Zeke individually and eventually as a couple. And it’s a strong faith story. It’s a story of healing from past hurts, and being willing to take a chance and open your heart again. And it is the most beautiful story of love for a child.
My one negative is not about the story per se. I read this one on my Kindle and there were a number of grammatical/type of graphical errors. More toward the last third of the story. I pressed through because the story was too good to stop, but I will say an annoyed me and distracted me. I feel this is strictly a matter of poor proofreading on someone’s part. And while I didn’t like it. It did not lessen my rating or my enjoyment of the story.
I received an ARC from the author but was not required to post a review. This is my honest, voluntary reaction and feelings I experienced after reading it.
Grace has written a story that completely captivated me and pulled me in! It comprises hope, joy, then brute reality as she finds the person she married doesn’t want the news she shares with him! Shattered she goes to see her Aunt Margaret where her life takes her in places she only ever imagined but never thought she’d ever be!
Through an outpouring of love not only from her aunt but from everyone she meets, especially one man and his family she finds what she has been looking for and the faith they all share which strengthens the bonds even more!
When the storm of the century comes bringing with it stress and anxiety as she is cut off from everyone she loves, she feels she is going to have to face the upcoming delivery alone, but help arrives at the last moment to see her through this special experience!
This story will touch your heart as it did mine! It’s the story of courage, determination and perseverance to rise above what obstacles she has to overcome! Finding acceptance from everyone in the town she’s calling home surprises and humbles her and her faith adds to helping her accept it!
I wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend this wonderful book as one I know you’ll enjoy as much as I did! It’s inspiring and leaves you feeling with a peacefulness and satisfaction of reading such an inspiring story!
I would hope you will not only read and enjoy this book but share it with your family and friends who need a book such as this to brighten and enliven their day! We all need to believe and have hope and this book delivers both!
You won’t regret reading this book I can guarantee you! You’ll be happy you did!
After four months of marriage to Chris, Rachel is pregnant. She is not prepared for his reaction to the news. He tells her to terminate "this." He leaves. The next conversation that if she is unwilling to terminate this, then they will get a divorce. She leaves and goes to stay with her aunt in Haven Point. There, she finds a community that cares about her more than Chris ever did. Zeke is a doctor there and a good friend of her aunt. He immediately becomes protective of this pregnant woman who has been through a lot. When her OBGYN tells her she has twins, the whole town becomes her caretakers. She is amazed at how everyone gets involved, but none more than Zeke. Her delivery during a terrible storm is very difficult, but Zeke and his brother Elijah get through to deliver the premature babies. This is a story of love that grows from best friends to a family. It's a beautiful story of God's working all things together for good.
What a gorgeous novel to read! This was a slow burn christian romance, so be prepared to have some heavily religious references. The 'romance' happened quite late - this was definitely focussed on developing the characters first. There was some back and forth and wondering what would happen, a lot of heartache and a beautiful story of a found family. I found a few sections that I had to suspend belief a bit more than I expected, but without it, the drama wouldn’t have reached the point that it did. It worked within the story line, so I can forgive it.
I read it across every spare minute - an engaging read, and definitely an opening for more books in the town.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A shocking beginning as well as an eye-opener to how some people in the world only think of what is beneficial to their needs. In the workplace and their perception to colleagues and the world at large. When Rachel falls pregnant to the dismay of her husband, she moves to Haven Point for her pregnancy and birth. Zeke's attention is immediately caught by her personality and humour after a rather different first meeting. So much happens in the town between families and storms. This is not just another romance, but a building of a township, congregation and family. One minute you feel up in the clouds, the next terrified of a situation, then celebrating new birth. I now look forward to a release from this author.
Rachel finds out she is pregnant after only being married for four months. She is thrilled. Her husband however is very much not thrilled and gives her and ultimatum... terminate the pregnancy or divorce. She retreats to her aunts to collect her thoughts and figure out what to do. The small town slowly becomes home. She finds family and love and a chance to start over. I found this very charming. However due to the inconsistent timeline I couldn't give it the 5 stars it deserved.
An amazing story which I totally enjoyed. Rachel has been hurt emotionally and needs an escape. She goes to stay a while with Margaret who lives at Haven Point. This was a place of good memories for her. The authors descriptions of the place are great. The characters are very generous and kind. A great community of very special people created by a talented author. Double Blessings is an excellent title for this book. HEA ending.
Another story in New Haven and it is packed full of gold nuggets of truth, grace and mercy. Enjoy the story of Zke and Rachel. Like every good story packed with twists and turns. One of my favorite quotes: “I’ve found a place where i don’t have to pretend to be perfect.” Truth you will find that place also.
This was a truly wonderful read. It had great characters that you fell in love with. It had a truly compelling storyline. The book flowed smoothly and swiftly. There was quite a bit of suspense. It also had a happy ending. I highly recommend.
This was a story about a husband who did not want children. He divorced his wife, knowing she was having twins. The story does not end there. Joy can come out of misery with loyal family and friends, enjoy her story.
Beautiful story of recovery from a devastating marriage to a future bright with hope. Mercy , forgiveness, love, peace, and an abiding hope to a future blessed by God.
A touching story of loss, a husband’s betrayal. Returning to family, faith renewed. Tragedy, birth and love reborn, home at last for both Rachel and Elijah.
This book truly touched my heart. Rachel doesn’t realize what she’s escaping when her husband walks out. His inability to accept her pregnancy is truly a blessing and escape from his control and abuse. Zeke is indeed a blessing sent by God. I loved this story and look forward to more books by Grace Jordan.
