A raw and sincere book giving direct insight into the thoughts of one of the victims and hostages of the Bataclan terror attacks of November, 13th 2015.

Concise, precise and obviously— emotional. The author explores how he navigated the trial held in 2021-2022 and what it meant for his healing process.

A few days before the 10th anniversary of this terrible night, I felt like I had to commemorate in some way. I rarely engage with content related to this event because of the emotional charge but I am glad I chose this book to do so. David’s voice is full of humility and humanity.

Intéressant sur le rapport à l’identité : devenir acteur dans le procès pour s’échapper de l’impuissance de la victime. J’ai trouvé la structure un peu bancale et même si l’auteur m’est très sympathique, son besoin de devenir connu est exprimé de manière assez désagréable. Elle semble venir d’une insécurité identitaire qui n’a rien à voir avec le procès et qui semble n’être pas totalement consciente.
Le processus de deuil de David est transparent, franc, honnête, tourné vers l’action. Agir pour ne pas subir, définir pour ne pas être défini, être utile pour donner un sens à l’absurde. C’est le choix de l’autonomie, qui est au final très émouvant.
Je n’aime pas le narrateur audio mais je dois admettre qu’il fait un super travail avec l’acting des extraits audios du procès. 3 étoiles.
