Brick

Rate this book
She thinks I'm a grumpy caveman. I think she's ‘trouble in skinny jeans’. But in close quarters, will her sass break through my walls?

This cabin was meant to be my escape. No MC drama, no cops, and no women with their complications. Just me, my wood carvings, and blessed silence.

Until Abigail crashes into my life with her useless designer boots and sharp tongue, fleeing from some catfish disaster. Now we're trapped together while the blizzard rages.

I came to these mountains to hide my scars. I never expected to find healing in the arms of a woman who challenges everything I thought I knew.

Brick is a steamy, mountain man, forced proximity, MC romance featuring a wounded hero with a heart of gold, a sassy heroine with trust issues of her own, and enough sexual tension to power through any blackout. This is book 3 in the Jagged Saints MC Romance that takes place in Serenity Hollow, but it can be read as a standalone, as with all other books in this series.

Brick and Abby

This was a different kind of MC but it was a love story of a city girl and a mountain hermit. Brick had built up all kinds of walls to keep himself safe and not let anyone near him be put in danger. Abby had other ideas and was determined to knock down those walls. This was a slow burn love story that gave me the HEA I was hoping for.

Abby and Brick . . .

Abby had thought she was meeting a man she had met on a dating app and even quit her marketing job to be with him. She has obviously reached a dead end without finding Jackson’s cabin. Then her rental car makes a grinding noise and something starts burning. She perhaps could walk back to civilization, but her fancy designer boots are not made for hiking. Rain starts pouring down and the gusts of wind make her car shudder. All she has to eat is a protein bar in her purse. But it’s obvious she has been “catfished”. And the disaster doesn’t end as the headlights dim and go out. Eventually headlines from a track pull up behind her and she searches for pepper spray. He asks if she has car trouble, and she gave a sarcastic answer. So he pointed out this was private property. Brick lives in the mountains for the solitude it provides for him. Meeting Abby Chen is definitely becoming a big annoyance , but Brick verifies that there is no resort there and no such person named Jackson Miller lives in Serenity Hollow. The land “off Mountain Ridge Road” Jackson said was his actually belongs to Brick. And Tommy Wilson uses that Miller name to catfish woman to send him money for investment in his “nonexistent” resort. And with her car now dead, she can’t even get back to town. The road will wash out soon, so he offers her a ride with him to a motel in town. But the road is already washed out and he heads to his cabin. She is not pleased to hear that, so he tells “the Princess” she can sleep in the truck but she is liable to freeze to death. Just then a tree crashes behind them and helps her make the right choice.

The cabin is clean and well-built. The inside is spotless and organized. He sends her off to the bathroom to dry herself with a big fluffy towel before she floods the floor. And then, of course, the lights go out. As they get to know each other better, Abby is curious about his past which he won’t share. But his secret is serious enough to him that he is ready to run rather than put her in danger. And that’s not the kind of life he deserves. Will she find a solution? Or will he give in to the risk to her and leave her behind?

OMG These tough guys who carry the weight of the world on their shoulders!
Abby comes to Serenity Hollow to find the guy she met online. Instead, she finds herself lost on a mountain road in a torrential downpour with a dead rental car and no cell service. When a big truck pulls up behind her, she's not sure what to expect. But she's got her pepper spray, just in case.
When Brick finds the car on his road, and the woman in it, all he wants to do is drop her off back in town. The storm has other ideas. The road is washed out and he's lucky they can even get back to his cabin. Once they're there, they're stuck. For days.
Brick has his reasons for hiding up on this mountain all alone. People have already gotten hurt because of him and his affiliation with the Jagged Saints MC. If the wrong people found out where he was, worse could happen. He couldn't allow that. And this woman who was quickly getting under his skin threatened to upset the solitude he was taking refuge in.
Ugh! The push and pull between them was so good! Brick wanted to keep everyone around him safe, and the only way he thought he could do that was by living his life alone, away from everything. But it was taking a toll. And when his past came to find him, no one was safe.
This was a satisfying read, with a loyal man who took the weight of the world on his shoulders, and the woman who found way more than what she was looking for.

She has given up her job in her apartment back home to go meet a man she has been corresponding with online, only to record her rental on a mountain road in the storm, and then find out she was catfished. Rescued by a gruff Mountain man, she is trying to regroup and figure out what to do. This mountain man is keeping secrets and trying to deny his attraction to her, but it is getting harder and harder as the days pass. He has been living as a hermit for a reason, mistakes from his past blew up in his face and he doesn’t want to be responsible for that again. The longer they spend together the more possible it gets to remain at a distance, especially when it’s not what either of them wants. This one is kind of like an MC/mountain man crossover. He was the member of an MC brotherhood, but has left the life to live as a solo mountain man. The author has written some compelling characters who easily quickly invest you in their story. They have a bit of a slow burn in the beginning as they both have things to figure out, but once they can’t deny their attraction things get steamy. The sweet epilogue is everything you wanted to be and wrap up their story and a happily ever after.

Abigail thought she has found the perfect man online, so she gave up her job and apartment and moved herself from Seattle to Serenity Hollow, GA, only to find out she was catfished! Abigail’s nightmare continued when she was caught in a flash flood on a mountain road without cell signal and her rental car destroyed. A reluctant Brick came to her rescue. Brick was hiding from his past and liked his secluded life just fine, thank you. Until Abigail. When danger came a knocking, this quaint and quirky small town came together.

The story, while predictable, was enjoyable. The MCs had a lot of chemistry that was obvious to those around them. There were a lot of supporting characters to keep up with, with my favorite being Martha, the sweet, matchmaking shop owner that took Abigail under her wing. There were plenty of twists to keep readers engaged from the first page until the end. The story was a mildly steamy, engaging suspenseful drama that was full of struggle, angst, and regrets. The book was a MC-lite, close proximity, mountain man romance. I really liked this book and recommend it.

She gets her mountain man, even if it is not the one she expected

Brick is the third book in the Jagged Saints MC series. This book is an entertaining addition to a wonderful series. The story is about Abby and Brick and what a story it is. Abby has been involved with a mountain man on a dating site and is in love. She ends up quitting her job, getting rid of her possessions and packing up her car to move across the country. What she does not know until she gets to town is that the man she is in love with and given everything up for does not exist. She has been cat-fished and now has no where to go. Brick is a mountain man who is a member of the MC. He lives alone in a cabin on the mountain and may be grumpy but he is good with that. When he takes her in and they are stuck in his cabin while a storm rages outside there also ends up being a storm brewing inside between them.
I loved Abby and Brick together. They are opposites, both prickly toward each other, but also they are a good fit once they get to know each other. It turns out that Abby gets her mountain man in the end, not the one she thought but the one she really needed.

Mountain Man Romance.
Abby is a young woman who has just left everything in her well-organized life in Seattle to find a man she met online. She didn't expect to get lost on the mountain and met a mysterious Mountain Man, who tells her that the man she met online didn't exist. She finds herself stuck in the middle of a storm with this Mountain Man table, full of secrets.
Brick, a man full of secrets, came to isolate himself on the mountain after a complicated past. When he meets the beautiful Abby, he sees her as a nuisance, but the more time he spends with her, the more he falls for her.
Will Abby and Brick have a beautiful story or will the past and Brick's secrets separate them….

Abby moved across the country for a man she met on a dating app. When she arrives in town on the way to his cabin, she finds out she is catfished, when the man who rescues her tells the man does not exists. Now she is stuck in a cabin with the grumpy mountain man due the inclement weather.

Brick is full of secrets, he has cut himself off from life after the death of Lisa. Abby stirs something in him that he thought long dead, but he cannot act on it as it would put her in danger.

Abby is not the type to fade into the background or ignore what is happening between them. Will she be able to convince Brick? This is a steamy read with a lot of angst.

In High School you couldn’t pay me enough to read required books, I could never really get into it. Maybe because I had to write essay’s right after. I actually like to read, it just took me a while to find the genre(s) that I enjoy reading.

The ups and downs in this book, along with the emotional growth, had me hooked. Without going too in depth and spoiling the book, I loved Abigail and Brick’s growth throughout the book. Bricks hides from his past, and Abigail is running from a catfish disaster. Their interactions in such a short time had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, I loved the ending, it didn’t come too fast or too slow, it was just enough time to keep me entertained 🙂.

Bick and Abby
Abby got cat-fished byy a local. She gave up her job, her condo, and drove across country for a man that never was. Her car gives out during a storm in the middle of nowhere. Brick takes her in and they get to know eachother, but Brick has dangerous secrets. He'll try with all his might to push Abby away, but Abby is more stubborn than he ever realized.

Lots of emotions, I felt bad for Brick. His past was awful but now he has a bright future. Abby is a force to be reckoned with and ne engage up on Brick.
Steamy, grumpy-sunshine, emotional, entertaining, MC bikers, found family, instalove and HEA.

Brick is the third book in the Jagged Saints MC series. It is an awesomely entertaining story. The characters are wonderfully authentic small town uncomplicated who fit well with the Jagged Saints MC personas. The storyline pulls you in from the first pages with a little weather disaster drama that leads to an unintentional much needed romance for the characters involved. What also makes it a page-turner are a little MC action, retribution, redemption, chosen family loyalty and bonds, and so much more that will make you keep turning the pages.

This was a good book from the very beginning. Brick is broody, and closed off and he runs into city girl Avery stuck in her rental car up his mountain. A big storm blows in causing her to do damage to Avery's rental and Brick has to take her to his secluded cabin to keep her safe. Roads are washed out and these two are stuck together. Avery has a big job ahead of herself to break down Brick's walls. Brick's past is a big obstacle to get over. I enjoyed this story and it is a definite page turner. The way the relationship develops between Brick and Avery keeps you on the edge of you seat. The way things all come together at the end was so much fun to read. Its a definite must read.

Abby and Brick, a slow burn romance. He rescues her from a terrible storm, takes her to his humble cottage where they wait out the storm. He then takes her into town and helps her find accommodation.
While this is happening Abby is trying hard to convince Brick they should give a relationship a go. As he is hiding from something he refuses to give in to Abby.
Some angst, danger, no spice, friends and a sweet epilogue.

Brick was isolated and grumpy, he didn’t want anything in his life or to complicate it. Abby blew in like a hurricane and everything changed. This book has love, steam, drama and a connection between people who weren’t expecting it. This is a real good book. The characters are full of depth and you can feel how conflicted things are. Looking forward to book 4.

While most people would stop at constant walls, Abby kept searching for an opening. She was persistent and persevered, demanding that Brick open up and listen to her.
This was an enjoy, very slow burn, push away, then pull close, love story.

Brick was at the cabin for solitude that is until Abby crashes in and everything changes. She is a whirlwind that caught Brick of guard and changed his life forever. This isn't your conventional MC stories, but it is a great story on its own.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Brick saves Abigail first after she gets stuck on a mountain road. When they get stuck together in his cabin, they fall in love but he is still in hiding. When Brick's past comes calling with danger, he wants to run again. I like how Abigail saves him with her plan and love.

Ms. Shaw continues to entertain us with another Jagged Saints MC tale. This is more of a Mountain Man book than a MC story with a strong female lead. I enjoyed the characters and the small-town setting, and I hope she writes another book in this universe.
