Rate this book
In a London choked by The Great Fog, crime finds its perfect ally... and Sherlock Holmes finds his greatest challenge.

An unnatural, persistent fog blankets London, turning familiar streets into treacherous labyrinths and empowering the criminal element like never before. Seeking refuge from personal grief, Dr. Watson returns to Baker Street, finding Holmes invigorated by the unique puzzles emerging from the gloom, yet strangely protective of his old friend.

Join the world's greatest detective as he pierces the seemingly impenetrable shroud to solve some of his most baffling a physicist murdered in a room locked from within by an invisible force, deadly river pirates who strike from a phantom craft, an entire omnibus full of passengers vanishing into thin air, and a sinister betrayal that brings the danger chillingly close to home, culminating in a deadly game of wits played out in the fog's suffocating embrace.

Sherlock Cases From The Great Fog is a gripping collection of new adventures faithful to the spirit of Conan Doyle, where deduction is the only lamp against the encroaching night.

Such a pity. Most Sherlock Holmes stories written after Conan Doyle have a disappointing tone, but these are beautifully written. Sadly while the author gets the atmosphere and tone right the stories and quick and miserable. Someone comes to Homes with a case, he thinks about it and then gives the solution immediately. End of story.

This was a great collection of short stories from Mr. Tyne. I’m unsure if London ever did suffer a lingering fog such as this, but the stories were quite realistic in feel. And I enjoyed a new bad guy to challenge Sherlock on a high level. Good stuff!
