Rate this book
IMPULSE should be read after the complete PULSE series, which is available now.

From New York Times and USA Today Bestseller author, Deborah Bladon, the continuing story of Nathan and Jessica.

Nathan Moore had everything any man could ever dream of. He was a successful attorney in Manhattan, he was in love with the woman of his dreams and he could see his future planned out before him. All of that changed when he took a trip into his girlfriend's past.

Jessica Roth has only shared the details of her life that she wanted Nathan to know. She's been careful and diligent in presenting a past that she believes will help her fit into his future. She doesn't realize that he's about to discover the one secret that she's worked hard to hide for the past six years.

He can't let anything come between them. She won't let him love her the way he needs to. Will they be able to finally have the happily-ever-after they deserve?

Deborah Bladon had never read a romance hero she didn't like. Her love for romance novels began when she was old enough to board the bus, library card in hand to check out the newest Harlequin paperbacks. She was a Canadian by heart, and by passport, but you could often spot her in New York City sipping a latte and looking for inspiration for her next story. Manhattan was definitely her second home.

She cherished her family and believed that each day was a gift for writing, for reading, and for loving.

Yes! Finally Nathan's POV. I love Nathan. And Impulse made me more exicted about him. He is as always a sweet territorial guy. On Pulse series, Miss Bladon developed Nathan character as cocky, manwhore mysterious and enigmatic.

In Impulse he is sweet and loving. His love for Jessica is endless. He stood by her through all the heart ache. Love him. Now he is my book boyfriend.
Miss Bladon once again proof herself to be talented writer.

** 2,5-3 STARS **

I'm not sure why the author felt like Nathan and Jessica's story needed to be prolonged.

I personally was very satisfied by the way their's ended.

This one was confusing.

The new information we get from this book about Jessica's past made me think back to all these scenes from the Pulse books, trying to remember how she reacted to certain things.

I mean, those books were from Jessica's POV and we didn't even get a little clue about any of this.

Yet, we get all this new stuff dumped onto our laps in this book, which is from Nathan's POV.

And when the hell did Nathan get so goddamn p*ssy-whipped?

JESUS CHRIST, there's nothing sexy about watching a man practically becoming a woman!

Being "romantic" doesn't entitle a man to turn into a clingy, whiny teenager.

And the constant use of the words "always" and "forever"... Over and over again.

Just... Please, don't do that.

I used to ADORE your books, Deborah Bladon.

What happened?

P.S: I didn't highlight a single line from this book. And I always...ALWAYS find memorable quotes in my books. Just sayin'.

I really enjoyed this series at the beginning and I even liked this book, but I didn't really understand what the author was trying to do in this book. It seemed very scattered. I don't like the chapter transitions. One minute here, next minute a week down the road with no completion of the last chapter. This novella series was similar to others because most of the books ended on a cliffhanger.
I thought this book would be more about their situation, but only his POV. It's continuation from his POV. They have their HEA, thank goodness and you're even going to get another down the road. I love continuation of stories.

Dragged on

the book was good, but the secret that Jessica kept from Nathan dragged on to long. Jessica was all about no secrets. In the other books she made Nathan spill everything. In real life Nathan should have said get out and don't let the door hit you in your ads. Love or no love.

It is the final, the secret of Jessica, together with Nathan n building their family.

The book is not necessary, no need to write the rest of their life, sometimes imperfect can get us remember all the time

You could almost just read this & skip the Pulse books. It sums up most of the important stuff from Pulse & has a much better story line.

yeah, even though I enjoyed getting a sneak peak into our H's head, all this book did was make me dislike the h a whole hell of a lot. This extension to the story seemed unnecessary and any 'alpha' cred the H had was sucked out with how clingy and needy he was. All the h does is cry and run away. Could have done without this read.

Deborah is a very gifted writer who weaves these characters together so well that you cannot help falling completely in love with them. The challenges that Nathan and Jessica have faced and worked through together and even separately are intense. I love the way they draw you in and make you a part of their story.

3.5 stars completely unnecessary sequel. Jessica’s secret didn’t make sense to me after she gave Nathan so much shit in the first four parts. I did read the free novella and it was cute. Happy they got their hea.

This is the follow up to the Pulse series but this is through Nathan’s point of view rather than Jessica’s and I truly felt for Nathan in this book and certainly got irritated with Jessica at numerous times. Loved the epilogue.

Loved it

I loved getting to see this couple again. Even though the news was hard to handle I’m so glad they pushed through and finally found what they wanted.

beautiful story.

Such a complicated but beautiful story. The characters are so different but go together so well! It’s not your typical story and that’s why it’s good!

I understand him more now. I love how obsessed he is with her. The other books made him seem like and asshole but he seems to be a good guy

Having read the PULSE series I felt compelled to read this book. And while their were some interesting points, overall the book felt like a sloppy piece of fanfiction complete with the typos/misspellings and the plot twists from left field.

This was an easy read, took a little less than 3 hours though I actually found myself skimming some of the sex scenes. They just became so incredibly repetitive. That is one of the 3 major issues I had with this book:

1. This couple is supposedly having "amazing" "earth shattering" sex everyday. Yet they have basically 3 moves, slight variations on each of them, but there is no creativity (or foreplay) here. The scenes overall felt really fake and over the top. They would kiss then boom they were both on the brink of their umpteenth orgasm that day. There were points throughout the series where I felt like Dr. Drew about to diagnos these two with sex addiction the way it completely dominates their thoughts 24 hours a day. They treat orgasms like they were a food group, "gotta have at least 1-2 servings of orgasm with breakfast, lunch, AND dinner". In addition to walking around in a constant (and I mean connnstant) state of arousal, hosting screaming coitus sessions with your girlfriend in your office is probably the worst legal advice from a lawyer. Lastly, they always cuddled face to face - after a sweaty love making sessions (where both parties have spent significant portions of time with their faces in each others nether regions) do they never feel like spooning back to front? No they would rather lay with their faces mere inches apart...makes sense.

2.Minor Spoiler alert: I have a hard time believing a would attend a poorly (both in taste and budget) thrown together in a school gymnasium. I'm not even going to touch the extreme unlikelihood of an open bar at a HIGH SCHOOL...give me a break. I have an even harder time believing the attended this event and nobody mentions it, so much so that another attendee is completely unaware that a person (who likely has a multi-person security detail) of his prominence was even there???

3. Flimsy plot overall. The main conflict was overwrought and unnecessary.Since moving in with Nathan has Jessica completely abandoned any friends outside the relationship? I guess her and Rebecca never made up after the first book? In one scene her mother is standing there practically manhandling and groping her boyfriend while Jessica is either willfully ignorant or chooses not to react. What purpose does that serve to the plot at all? The only reasons I can come up with are sexist slut shaming ("that's where Jessica learned her frisky attitude towards sex") or insulting to cancer survivors ("after surviving breast cancer and a double mastectomy her mother became a predatory cougar to recapture her womanhood/sexuality"). Nathan and Jessica talk in circles around each other as if they purposefully want to drag out these fairly simple conflicts forever. The major conflict in this piece does not draw on any of the background we have on either character from the previous books and was very obviously chosen after the original series was published given that there is no previous evidence of this internal conflict before.

Overall I wanted to know how the series ended and was interested in reading Nathan's POV and I didn't end up wasting more than 3 hours on the book. It just felt like a wasted effort that was very poorly executed on.

Ok I keep saying I'm reviewing at the end and now the end is here.

This book was the best in the series imho because there were serious challenges and love was really tested. The previous books annoyed me enough to cost the fifth star because the non issues were annoying. Too many times Jessica refused to listen to Nathan and chose instead to judge him practically with her fingers in her ear while she screams lalalalala....I can't hear you!!!!! So juvenile.

Nathan got himself in some stupid situations and had lousy excuses considering his station in life. He did manage to dig himself out each and every time which only made Jessica seem dumber and more gullible than ever before. After many eye rolls I settled with "this is fiction... It's the only way the author knows to create drama.

Impulse had a better story line than the rest of the series but the sex got really really really repetitive!!! I was rolling my eyes and remembering my friends who prefer bdsm because of the variety!!! How many different ways can you suck a cock or lick a clit? Apparently not many is this book is to be believed. I'm no prude, I love erotica... But the sex needs to add to the story not take away.

I was happily surprised with the character development and storyline of this book written from Nathan’s mature point of view because the first two series by this author were frustratingly rudimentary. Nathan and Jessica final book shows how much their relationship has evolved with actual in depth conversations, a realistic storyline, and a supportive and loving relationship that I could root for.

Jessica Roth didn't want to attend her sister's wedding. She didn't want a trip down memory lane. She'd moved on. She was happy in New York with her job and her man. But Nathan Moore has a way of getting what he wants. Except this time, what he wanted was to learn more about her past and all she had buried. The kicker? Her past was threatening her and she was pushing him away. When they were so close to their happily-ever-after, Jessica and Nathan become worlds' apart. Told from Nathan's perspective, Impulse tells the story of how they manage Jessica's past from breaking them apart and how the future can be happy if you let it. Sexy? Hell yeah! Nathan is one hot male. Definitely a fun read, but read the Pulse series first!

4 mystery-&-drama-stars! **** this was a sweet ending to a great story. However i didnt understand why jessica's secret had to be so freaking weird and stupid. I dont know why she did it...yeah yeah...to help her mother but still there must have been other ways to get money or help. I did like that 'Impulse' starts where the last book left off, but from Nathan's point of view. It wasnt a repeat of everything with a slightly different point of view. I hate those books. The other weird this is that the main character's name is Jessica (my name) who has a kid named Aiden (my cousin's name) and is involved with Nathan (a guy's name who i dated) what a coincidence!

Waited for this book until I fell asleep! Got up and saw an ARC in my email. Thank you so much Deborah. Let me say it was so worth the wait! I absolutely loved the way Nathan story was told. I loved that Deborah still stuck to the "hotness" that is Nathan Moore but I love how much he has evolved in his role within the relationship with Jessica. Their story is such a beautiful one and as usual you have the unexpected WTF moment you never saw coming but remains true to Ms.Bladon style. Loved this book to pieces excellent ending to a great series!!! 5+++++++
