Risk Capital: A Dark Billionaire-Nanny Romance

Rate this book
The empire was secure. Until love becomes his most dangerous investment.

Alessio is a man who knows what he wants… And that’s me.
Yes, we shared a night together.
Yes, he lit me up like the Eiffel Tower.
But that’s where it was supposed to end.
Now, I have to get close to him again.
Because someone’s holding my little brother hostage,
and forcing me be a governess for Alessio’s nephew.
This job is supposed to give me access to Alessio’s secrets.
Not his heart.
When the truth comes out, I don’t know who will end me first.
The people threatening my family,
or the man I’ve come to love.

*** this is a dark romantic between a morally grey billionaire MMC and a nanny trapped in his dangerous world. It contains dark themes.

Almost better than her fantasy

Wow, so good. I loved shark bait and I love this one too. I'm hard out to pick which is better.

So I am following this author. I know I had to have really liked a book from her, because I don’t follow many authors. That being said I couldn’t get into this book as it wasn’t making any sense and that was irritating me to no end.

So the MFC is doing a review of the island for her job. She goes to a high end bar on her last night there and has a one night stand with the owner of the island. Upon returning to her hotel goons break her nose and hit her in the face. They then show a video of her brother that was taken yesterday. The fact the video was taken from the day before when she didn’t even know she was going to be sleeping with the guy makes no sense. Add in that they already have a scheme to get her to be a nanny when it’s been maybe 12 hours at this point since she had her one night stand, and they still decide to mangle her face? Yeah makes no sense. And who is going to hire a tourist that’s beat up and is probably stinky for a nanny instead of a native? The goons burn her passport and take her money and cards, then she has to leave the hotel and is living on the beach drinking from a flask she found by a dumpster? I couldn’t continue.

I don’t write but I could come up with some better ideas and reasoning to make this story believable. One possibility is that instead of a one night stand, maybe she met him on the first night, and they met up each night to get down and dirty. That would’ve given the bad guys time to develop an plan. They could’ve been waiting at the hotel when she got back. They could’ve made the threat and had her quit her job(so she isn’t reported missing), had her call her family(so she isn’t reported missing), not messed up her face, and put her in a place of their choosing to keep an eye on her till she gets the job as the nanny.

Yeah I couldn’t read this one.

Quite the game of cat and mouse…with a side of passion. Alessio is just as intense and controlling in all aspects of his life. He is also a deadly billionaire, and I don’t mean he is deadly because he has people for that, because he does, but he himself is also very deadly. He doesn’t need to have anyone else, he was in the military and knows how to take care of business. She’s a happy go lucky writer for a travel magazine that meets him one night, and gives into their chemistry. They share a night together, and as soon as she sneaks out she’s kidnapped and made to spy on him and his family in his own house…oh yeah it gets all kinds of messy….messy, messy, messy.

Safe read with a couple that was bringing the passion. A good fast paced storyline with plenty of what the moments. We get to see our favorites from book one, including the lollipop theif, and gained some new favorites like his adorable nephew. I also loved, loved the shout out for The Unseelie King and I…so much fun. An epilogue and a hea.

I don't usually read Billionaire romances

But I very much enjoyed Ms. Jack's foray into the genre. The MMC, while an intense, powerful man, was emotionally mature and didn't doubt the female main characters'love for him (at least not for long). It was such a breath of fresh air. All of the characters were charming, their interactions and motivations read as authentic and understandable. The spice is "chef's kiss". This is top shelf escapist literature, just like the equally charming Shark Bait

Worth the Risk ~ This is a Voluntary Advanced Reader Copy review of Risk Capital. Read Shark Bait first. It will set the stage of the why and the subsequent path this story took. I enjoyed the way the story started. I loved the subtle reference to another book. Loved all the descriptions and details that led this story on a very intense and specific journey, full circle to where it started. Loved their epilogue.

I think this is my favorite book of hers yet! I loved the characters and the storyline, although I wanted to yell at Lake several times! Good stuff! Can’t wait to see what’s next!

Another googy

Good read starts out a little slow. Lake seems to passive at first then pick up later. All together a good read.

I wasn't that keen on the previous book but thought I would try it. Didn't like the FMC off the bat and in the few chapters I read it felt like there were gaps and too much skipping ahead.

I enjoyed this one, but it didn't hit like Shark Bait did. Alessio is a much more complex character, so this book made sense ... sort of.

Lake is in a tough spot, and her choices are made in fear.

There's a HEA, but it wasn't as satisfying as Miro & Troy's book.
