This book is very well written. It has plenty of action, particularly at the end. And yet ... and yet it's missing something of a spark. My six year old mostly listened politely, but for whatever reason the story doesn't quite capture the imagination. Sorry, Mom.
2 1/2 stars. It wasn't bad. The writing was quality and the read was quick. It was written very tongue in cheek. The problem was the characters. They felt like mere caricatures with no real depth or relatability. I finished reading it and thought, so what? There was nothing to learn or gain from the read.
