A SOLID 3.5 STARS! THIS REVIEW IS BASED ON THE ENTIRE TRILOGY.
BITTERSWEET HEA!! Neither my first, nor last ARACHNID romance, though this would be featured in my the TOP 5 spider romances I've read so far. Sadly, we aren't spoilt for choice.
I liked SERRIK. Who wouldn't?
A mysterious, good-looking half-fae with a hidden agenda, speaks in riddles and reels you in with his aura of aloofness? Makes you want to get under his skin and see what makes him tick. Beneath the otherworldly handsomeness beats a heart that longed/longs for love and acceptance, though now clouded with rage, hatred and resentment for his own kind who mistreated him unfairly.
To get a better understanding of this world, I'd recommend reading VALROY and ABIGAIL's story - The Unseelie Prince and The Unseelie Duke. Trust me, you'll feel LESS LOST with all the characters' names.
AVA is an unwilling pawn who gets roped into a genocide tug-of-war between two half brothers, bent on destruction. It'll be race against time to save herself, and figure out what the hell is going on.
WEB OF SHADOWS felt like A DREAM WITHIN A DREAM. Sometimes I don't know what's real or not, and poor AVA was being tugged like a puppet on strings. Like her, the omissions and manipulations will leave you frustrated. Who is friend; who is foe?
While I enjoy a good monster romance, I didn't feel captivated by Serrik or Ava's relationship/chemistry. I could appreciate the third book when they were together, that was cute, but how they came to be didn't leave me anything memorable to go by. Their attraction felt "forced" in the sense that after so many centuries, Serrik conveniently has feelings for this particular human. It wasn't insta-love, but the build up wasn't natural either. IF ANYTHING, the entire plot and the villain in this story VALROY would generate more interest.
OVERALL the ending was a nice closure to the interlaced series. The plot was solid and it's nice to see old characters, however the romance didn't rock my socks off. I didn't have butterflies or squealed my lungs out from excitement.

What the Puck
Not going to lie, I'm always here for the morally bankrupt supernaturally villainous MMCs and the darkly broken women who own them. Thank you Kathryn Ann Kingsley for yet another fine story filed with more swearing and feist than my college dorm.
Hot, angst riddled, gleefully mad.
This story had everything for sexy spiderweb bondage to commentary about the human condition and existential soul seeking.
Do recommend.

This was such an intense ending I can’t believe its over 😭I finished it in one sitting and I just wanna start all over again!
I loved it so much and this book made me cry like a baby but it was so worth every emotion it rung out of me! I definitely recommend this book and all the others from this author!

I have complicated feelings about the end of the series. I was very not on board at the beginning of the book because the setting being more or less Earth really took away from the magic of it all. Tons of repeated dialogues and.. I get it.. entropy is a great metaphor (and literal definition) of chaos; but did it have to be used so many dang times?? Giving it a 4 star none-the-less because I did like the way it ended and was thoroughly entertained by parts of it.

The romance in this series was… weird. It almost felt like an after thought, and when it did “develop”, it seemed like it was there just because this is supposed to be a fantasy romance book, so we *need* to have romance, you know what I mean?
Even the spicy scenes felt forced and shoved there just because we need to have some spice, it did not feel natural at all for me.
Serrik is an intriguing MMC, I liked how cold and sometimes detached he was, but he wasn’t a villain. He was just… misunderstood, mistreated. I also feel like the romance needed more work, it all happened so fast, so randomly, so… forcedly (?).
As for the positives, the angst in book 3, however, was insanely good. I loved it, it was sublime.
I don’t know, I was so hyped for this series and I couldn’t wait for all the books to come out so that I could read it, but it fell short for me. Book 1 was a solid 3 stars, but book 2 and 3 have been a bit disappointing. I’m sad. 🥲
Now, don’t get me wrong, I love KAK. I’d go as far as to say that she’s my favourite author, but her latest works (that I’ve read, at least) don’t feel like her anymore, but maybe it’s me.

Este libro me ha dejado con sentimientos encontrados. Si nos sentamos para analizar JUST the romance creo que, aunque me han gustado mucho los personajes principales, Serrik y Ava han quedado cortos en química y desarrollo, ESPECIALMENTE en comparación con las parejas que hemos explorado en Maze of Shadows y Deal of Shadows. Pero, si veo este libro como el cierre de todo lo que es el mundo de Tir n'Aill… Solo puedo decir que me parece que ha cumplido muy bien y lo he disfrutado bastante.
La verdad es que no esperaba decirle adiós a Tir n'Aill de esta forma, aunque no se anunció como tal, creo que puedo leer entre líneas. However, I'm not mad about it. Siento que Kingsley se tomó el tiempo para orquestar un cierre sin perder el core de sus personajes y sin miedo a tomar decisiones difíciles. Let's be honest, cuando tus personajes son Unseelie no hay cortes limpios, pero ella supo guiar la historia para tener un fin satisfactorio sin perder su esencia.
Ahora, es justo decir que mi puntaje se basa mucho en mi experiencia de nostalgia frente a una serie de libros que me han acompañado por 3 años. I'm talking about my FIRST Dark Romantasy (Maze of Shadows), por supuesto que tengo un bias, but I'm not fudging blind, por lo que también creo que es importante decir que si tengo que calificar este libro sólo como un romance mi puntaje está más cerca al 2.5 que a las 4 estrellas.
Serrik y Ava me han gustado mucho como personajes individuales, pero como pareja no lo he sentido para nada. En mi opinión personal, funcionaban como equipo pero no tenían esa química que hace que el romance funcione. Podría ser también que los stakes de la trama eran mucho más grandes que el mismo romance, but I do believe que les faltó ese spark que han tenido las otras parejas Unseelie x Humano que hemos podido experimentar.
Either way, estoy muy contenta con el libro. No es mi romantasy favorito ni mucho menos, pero me hizo feel my feels y creo que ha cerrado las puertas de este mundo con la dignidad que se merecía. Estoy emocionada por seguir explorando los otros mundos que Kingsley ha ido creando, porque aunque no todos han sido hits, no me arrepiento de ninguno.
P.S.: Para los que leyeron la versión aracnofóbica de Kingsley (Was that even a real thing?) I judge you a little… Honestamente creo que eso es MÁS aterrador que el original.

Holy mashing! Kathryn has done it again, The Unseelie War was great from start to finish. I had plenty of moments throughout this book that I was thinking WTH, but thankfully they all worked out 🙌🏼. We picked up right where The Unseelie Court left off with Ava trying to make sense of everything she inadvertently caused.
While we don’t really learn that much about Serrik, you’re definitely able to understand him more and his reasoning, while also falling even more for him 😍. Ava was great, but the poor girl had a hard time catching a mental break from the rollercoaster she was on. The Unseelie War was great to read even when Kat threw some twists in there. It was nice to see Valroy at the (almost) height of his potential, although I wanted to smack him for most of the book lol. There was a LOT of world building and action along with some emotional moments and the spice 🤌🏼. I really enjoyed seeing past characters as well. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and this series over all, and this was a perfect ending! 100/10!

What an epic conclusion! This third installment had me on the edge of my seat right up to the very end.
Having already read Valroy and Abigail's books, I was so thrilled to see Valroy ultimately choose love (that stubborn, sexy oversized bat). The Tir Naill series has been with me since my early college days, so seeing it all come to an end leaves me feeling genuinely bittersweet. (Plus it was one of my first reads in English !)
I’m going to miss my fae red flags terribly... and I must dive into Alex and Izael's books to fill in the gaps!
Also, I absolutely adore Serrik—what a deliciously sugary, lemony spider of nightmares and dreams. In the end, we got a good old-fashioned happily ever after. Against all odds, everything turned out alright ! 🥳

This is the end! All the characters were wrapped up with bow. A part of me is sad over it but the other part is relieved. I adored the Unseelie Duke series, despite detesting Unseelie Prince. Valroy is the worst MMC. The concept of him being pure destruction was hard to follow. Now the ending, with no spoilers, was satisfying on that front. Serrick and Ava were not my favorite characters. Their romance felt rushed and choppy. There wasn’t a connection for me. Ava was as the first female he’s seen in over 2,000 years. It’d be hard not to feel something.
Idk, if you have read the rest of the 8 books you’re going to continue. Enjoy the finale.

I really enjoyed The Unseelie War! It was such an exciting and emotional read, and a fantastic conclusion to the series. Kathryn Ann Kingsley once again delivered a story full of tension, magic, and unforgettable moments.

“Oooh! We’re on a quest!” Puck cackled. “I love quests.” Ava figured it was time to place bets on how long it would take before Serrik murdered Puck. But she couldn’t really spend much time focusing on that. Because there she was, walking through a meadow full of living origami paper cranes and razor-petaled flowers, and trying to figure out how to un-fuck the universe. It was going to be a very long day.
I loved this series but I didn't love how this ended. I feel like this didn't match up with our characters and they all lost themselves a bit, other than Alex & her snake man.

Wow what a wrap up
I love the series.1-9 a must read. The characters are imagination gone wild. I am a fan of all things different and make you think out side of reality. The author grabs you and paints a vivid picture. The story is always filled with love, hate ,choas, and in self realized redemption. Ugly things need love too, especially if you find yourself looking in a mirror. Seelie and Unseelie and the humans that make them curious lead to a great read. Puck rukes!

I adored this series. It was the end of several story lines, brought in characters from several other series from this world. I loved the cross over of characters. Kathryn did such a good job twisting and turning her way through this story. The characters were so well written, I was so invested in this series. Sad to see it end.

Wonderful way to wrap this up!
I love this series!!! It started off a little slow for my liking, but it pulled me in. I like the 3 sets, and yet all connected at the end. And I absolutely Love Love Love the ending!!! Great way yo wrap this story up, with maybe even the possibility of future stories!!??!?!?

Lost for words? The merging of the three realities, Greek mythology, Celtic mythology, spider/fae romance, entropy maxing, a final battle of long lost half demi god brothers, and the finale of three stories. Oh and multiple timelines?? Roller coaster that I didn’t hate. But just a little too much happening too fast. Loved serrik. Wanted more writing on him and Ava.

just alright
It was a very quick ending. Not as good as the other books. Maybe because I find Ava annoying? I feel like Alex and Abigail were much better characters.

I had to think about it for a moment, but I have decided that it was quite a fitting end to the story of Ava and Serrik. It wasn't as great as Valroy and Abigail but it held its own. I have a tremendous respect for Kathryn Ann Kingsley managing to weave her stories together. She is a true Weaver.

I really do enjoy this series but the number of times things are about to happen and then just fizzle out is insane. It happens in every book! I don't like how Valroy gets essentially a happy ending after causing all of the destruction he caused and after hurting Alex & killing another main character. 💔
