Katie Plainbottom always dreamed of being a respected leader in her small hometown of Godot, WV. But when a charming and charismatic new player threatens to take everything she's worked for, she enlists her former childhood best friend, Jeremy Blackwell, for help.
Jeremy, on track to become the youngest police chief in town history, still harbors guilt for his role in their adolescent falling out. With Jeremy's strong community ties and renowned reputation, resolving to become her best friend and helping her secure her leadership role should be easy.
But as they embark on a journey to complete an old "Teenage To-Do List" they never finished, Jeremy struggles to keep the lines of friendship firmly in place. Not just because he's vowed to keep his own heart guarded, but because he refuses to be another man in Katie's life who lets her down.
While the two explore the boundaries of their friendship and its benefits, their common enemy threatens the future of everyone in Godot.
I loved being back in this world again! The author’s writing is so captivating and she perfectly captures what life is like in a small southern town. It’s so funny because I hated Katie and Jeremy in the first book but loved getting to know them in this one. It goes to show that you can be the villain in someone else’s story but that doesn’t mean you’re the villain in your own.
Loved this story of Katie Plainbottom who always dreamed about being a leader in Godot until her dreams are put into doubt and asks her childhood best friend Jeremy for help.
Jeremy Blackwell is on track to become the towns youngest police chief but when Katie asks for help his feelings for Katie resurface. Together they fight the board while trying to fight their true feelings for one another.
This is a tense fast moving story which keeps you willing Katie and Jeremy to succeed.
Would highly recommend.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I loved being back in Godot, and I enjoyed Circle Circle, Dot Dot just as much as The Tomorrows After You. Annie Ritter has a talent for writing mysteries, suspense, and creating a believable world with well-balanced characters. CCDD has a friends-to-lovers romance at its core. I wasn't a fan of either Katie or Jeremy in TTAY, so it was nice to have my opinion completely changed. The last few chapters were intense and completely page-turning. More from this author, please.
