I really loved this book. From page one, Ember’s story had me hooked—the heartbreak, the danger, the feeling of being trapped in a world she never chose. But let’s be real… Orion stole the show.

This man was SO OBSESSED. Not soft or subtle—he was intense, feral, possessive, and completely unhinged over Ember. And I was all in. His backstory hit hard, and once you know it, his obsession makes total sense.

Their chemistry? Off the charts. The spice? 🔥🔥🔥. And that ending?? I gasped. I’m still recovering.

Also… f*ck Lucas. Seriously.

If you love dark romance with a broken heroine, a dangerously obsessed anti-hero, and a twist that hits like a truck, While She Sleeps is a must-read.

Okay, let me just say—Ember is one of those FMCs you just want to hug. The heartbreak, the emotional rollercoaster she goes through… it really hit me. That girl has been through so much, and yet she keeps fighting.🙌🏼

Without giving too much away, Orion’s obsession along with Ember’s sheer will to survive makes this such a gripping, emotional read. Their dynamic is intense, dark, and completely addicting.

I wish the second book comes out soon, I need to know how their story ends!

This is a delicious dark stalker romance. This book is the first of a duet and focuses on Orion and Ember. Orion lives a double life. And the first time he sees Ember, he decides he wants her and have her he will. Except he holding a very dark secret. Ember is in search of the man responsible for her brother's death and Orion's alter ego is the man she's looking for. This book was so good. It's suspenseful, keeps you guessing, and of course it ends n a cliffhanger. I will definitely be looking for more by this author to read.

I haven't read a good dark stalker romance in a hot minute and wow this one was just what I needed!!!

Orion?? Our creepy, stalker man 🙂‍↔️ there's actually so many things he did that should have freaked me out but didn't am I ok??? 😭 his obsession, desire, possessiveness and kinkiness had me sat I can't lie 😫 no the edging in this book is REAL like I could not handle it but I also couldn't get enough?? He frightened me but I loved it? I need help!!!

Our girl Ember, my baby 😭 she's been through so much. She's never TRULY had anyone to care about her in her whole life and has owed this horrible man a debt she's been trying to pay off since her teens. She can't believe when Orion takes interest in her and then she will always run away, but our man loves to chase 👀she's always worried about becoming a burden or terrified of losing someone she finally lets in while also desiring some form of love from someone that will truly do anything for her 😭 she just wants to be loved but has been burned so many times she can't trust it. To be fair, Orion comes on very strong which is very questionable LOL but they're honestly perfect together
She is also working through her intense grief of losing her brother a year before.

I will say that her character is described as strong and can take care of herself which I wish we got to see more of her revenge killing or fighting off the men that were after her because I would have loved to see that!!! I needed to see more of her badassery physically speaking lol


and UMMMM hello?? that ending?? I was not expecting it I FEEL FOR THEM SO BAD RIGHT NOW but I NEED BOOK TWO PLEASE!!!!

Montana has done it again with another incredible book. If you are familiar with her Frost Industries series, then you have met Orin before. He is our Mystery Buyer in Storms book. I have wondered about him for a long time and I’m so excited that we are finally getting his story.

Ember and her older brother were rescued from the streets by Lucas. He is a criminal with no morals and makes Travis and Ember pay off their debt by doing jobs for him. When Travis is killed by The Hunter, Ember now owes her debt and Travis’ debt. At this rate she’s likely to never pay it off and Lucius threatens to add more to her debt each time she talks back and doesn’t want to do a certain job. Orion is obsessed from Ember and plans to make her his, but when he realizes that Lucas is becoming a problem he has to speed up his plans to take Ember and convince her that she is his and he his hers. Only problem is he is also the Hunter and he did kill her brother Travis, but it’s not what you think. There is a secret Orion is keeping from Ember, will the truth destroy them before he can convince her that they are meant to be?

I legit devoured this book and could not put it down. The ending though, omg a cliffhanger, but it doesn’t look like we have long to wait for While He Sleeps!

If I could give this book 10 starts I would!

He has been following her for the past year. Never doing anything she would realize and make her suspect she had a stalker. He has always kept her safe. Ember is a girl who is barley surviving in this world. She is grieving her brother who was killed in a horrible car crash. She is depressed, self destructive, and haunted by her guilt. She is currently trapped under the control of a very violent drug dealer and it is ripping her apart piece by piece daily. She survived that wreck for a reason and she is coming for revenge. Her and her brother were raised on the streets and this is the how she ends up under the thumb of a man she despises. The things he makes her do to settle the debt that is owned are horrible and Orion knows it. He knows that the time has come for them to meet and when they do both of their worlds explode. But she has a guarded heart. She can't be hurt again. She has not heart left to get broken really. These two have some explosive chemistry and fiery passion. But Orion is holding onto a huge secret. One that could destroy both of them. If this secret comes out can either of them survive it? You have to read to find out. There is a lot going on in this book and I was hooked from the moment I picked it up. I was invested and had to know what was going to happen. This is the first book in a new series. So you know what is coming....and I can't wait to get my hot little hands on the next book. It can't come out fast enough in my opinion. This is a great dark romance. You need it in your life if you love dark romances as much as I do.

Montana Girl!!! You killed this book!! Holy Hell! From the first sentence, I was hooked. I devoured this book in 2 hours!! I could not put it down!! Orion is obsessed with her. He is intense, feral, and possessive!! I loved that you learned why he is so obsessed with Ember because of his backstory. These two have tragic backstories that make them the way they are. Ember, this girl, has been through the wringer and still is fighting. She lost her brother, and her asshole of a boss is making her find the man that killed him. She has been through so much, and you just want to hug her! The chemistry these two have is off the charts, like, damn. The whole time, you are rooting for them and wanting to kill Lucas!! The amount of times I wanted to throw my Kindle because of that man was high! I also want to say the whole entire time I knew it was a duet, and so once Lucas was introduced and he started having Ember look for the Hunter, I thought I knew what was going to happen! Then Bam! It was something different, but that I hoped wouldn’t be the case!! I balled and looked off into space on that cliffhanger!! Straight through the heart!! I need the second book. I need to know what happens with Orion & Ember!! Check out this book tomorrow on Kindle Unlimited!! You don’t want to miss it!!!

The Queen of Cliffhangers has done it again with this one… and this ending is definitely the roughest cliffhanger yet, in my opinion.
I really loved this story, as it broke from the typical formula of the MC starting out with a tough backstory and current situation, but that situation steadily improving as they fall in love. In this story, Ember does have a rough backstory, but her situation doesn’t improve as the book and her relationship progresses. If anything, everything outside of her love life gets progressively worse, and eventually implodes.
I also really liked that both MCs in this story are criminals, so one of them isn’t corrupting the other one or destroying their innocence. Both are tough, strong, independent characters who aren’t used to depending on others.
I also really appreciate the addition of realistic mental health struggles for Ember in this story. Too often we read stories about characters dealing with insane situations and more trauma than a real person would ever be able to healthfully manage on their own, and they’re supposedly fine. The author chose to write Ember more realistically than that, and has her using some unhealthy coping mechanisms to deal with her trauma and grief.
I think Ember and Orion make a great match, even if Orion has some big secrets that he’s keeping from her for the time being.

4.5 stars and don’t mind the cliffhanger

I need a hug … this book … I love Morgan Fyre’s writing and her Frost Industries series but this book is my new favorite. The roller coaster ride this book took me on had me all in my feels and many tears were shed. Ember (the FMC) and Orion (the MMC) are both so flawed they are absolutely perfect for each other. I just wanted to wrap Ember up in a hug. If there was ever someone who needed it, it was Ember. She’d been through so much throughout her 22 years and just when things finally started to look up for her, the proverbial rug was yanked out from under her. And Orion is so OTT obsessed with Ember and I was down for it. But at times I found I wasn’t sure if I wanted to hug him or slap him silly. But through it all, I understood it was because of his love for Ember.

Definitely read the trigger warnings because this book is heavy. But I applaud Morgan for her deft handling of the material. As the sister of a sibling who self-harmed and another sibling who suffered from PTSD and lost, I appreciated her portrayal of these mental health issues and felt she was spot on.

And while I am not normally a fan of cliffhangers, this one was perfect and left me in tears. Glad I saw it was a duet and waited to read it until both books were released. Better for my psyche. Off to read While He Breathes.

While she Sleeps is the first part in a duet but don't worry as Montana set the date for part B in a months time so we wont wait too long.
These books can not be rushed. We need the little details and nuances.

Ember and Orion are worth it!

There is so much happening underneath the both of their story lines.
Ember is such a tortured soul and she is so strong in her own way. I love her already and wish I could just give her the worlds biggest hug.
Orion .. I think I need to leave him to you to discover as its a multi layered sweet you are unwrapping there. Not sticky and sweet though! All Alpha Male gooey goodness.

“If there’s a gift-giving kink, I think I might have it.” (Not saying No to this …ever!! )

There is a lot happening that Im very scared to give away any of the plot.
Some things might be triggering around Loss and then your Dark Romance triggers you know if you read these they are there.

This book gave everything, and I mean EVERYTHING! You definitely need to check your triggers. I loved the MFC, although her childhood was no walk in the park, and she faced the ultimate tragedy. She never let that stop her from doing what needed to be done. With a debt needing to be repayed and a score needing to settle, she was so strong even when she couldn't be, and I can admire that. That fire attracted LA most eligible bachelor with Dom Daddy vibes with a denial kink. This book was spiccccyyyy. I mean, I was blushing and kicking my feet in the air!! But with all that this book gives, of course, Montana Fyre would give us devastation and apparently shes into O denial as well, because this book does end on a cliffhanger, and I all about threw my Kindle in the last chapter!! Be prepared. That last sentence was gut punching!!! With that being said, I am counting down the days until July

Ember lost her brother a year ago and is still trying to figure things out. The number one thing she wants to know is who killed her brother and why. She survived the crash and was rescued, but he wasn’t and she doesn’t understand why.

She lived on the streets with her brother after escaping their foster home when they were younger and although she isn’t there anymore she feels alone and stranded to her own defenses.

Orion is an extremely rich businessman and little does Ember know he is also the man behind the drug business. Orion gets his sights set on Ember and will do anything to protect her, no matter the cost.

Orior has many red flags, but Ember cares in one hand, but doesn’t in the other.

I loved the twists and turns in this book and cannot wait for part two of the duet!

Montana Fyre, you have ripped my heart out and torn it to shreds. But I’m here to beg for more. I absolutely NEED the next book, because that cliff was KILLER!

Ember and Orion are so cute and sweet, while also being full of red flags and angst. The entire book we know his secret identity, and we are waiting with anxiety for the moment Ember finds out.

Ember has been through so much in her life, and the hits keep coming. But her and Orion are so perfect together which makes the angst so much worse because we know what’s coming. It’s a train wreck you absolutely can’t look away from.

The spice is sooooo freaking hot!

mystery buyer is someone we've been waiting to learn more about since the end of Storm's book. so to finally get his story is a treat. him & ember are a really interesting dynamic, partially cause of how they met (or well how he met her) and partially cause of the hold double idenity bit. Montana really does not fail when it comes to plot twists in her books, this book is no different. like i had some suspicoons and theories as i was reading, and when it was revealed my eyes widdened. one of my theories got disproven, and the other is still up in the air til book 2. im not gonna say my theories, cause spoilers. i will also say, the cliff hanger did not go the way i was predicting it would, but oh it's so much better cause wow how book 2 is gonna start. holy idk if i can wait-

God! I love anything Montana writes! How can every story be so different but just as dark and twisted as the other?
I love me a stalker romance - just something about how depraved the MMC is for his girl and she doesn't even know it. I'll dive head first into anything if you say stalker... and give me all the touch her and die vibes!

My heart broke for Ember constantly. Her struggles with the death of her brother who is no saint and all the trauma of
being deprived of unconditional love. I think Ember is one of the most relatable FMC's l've read
I love the plot, and everything in between! There has been some laughs but also the fan your face type of scenes.

Please tell me Killian gets his own story.. I need him as messed up as Orion is for Ember for his own girl. 🙈

First off just wow the cliffhanger need the next book so bad. Orion "The Hunter" and Ember
"The Thief" really are good together once they get to work past all their own personal issues and the issues they have they need to work through together. Orion I like to call him the compassionate criminal falls hard and fast when he pulled Ember from a car accident that took her brother. The life that Ember has had makes me want to wrap her up in a hug. He very much stalks her because if he can't be there he needs to be able to see where she is and what she is doing, very protective in the best way and end game. Because he doesn't try to manipulate her into wanting to stay.

I am so mad (in a good way) The cliffhanger ending I figured there would be one as things weren't resolved and the book was almost over but what I did not expect was how intense it would be. overall this book is awesome the MMC is possessive and OTT everything you want in a book boyfriend and the FMC is NOT a damsel in distress type she is independent and fully able to take of herself but has a hard time fighting her own demons of mental health and grief. the mental health aspect was wonderfully written and was addressed in the trigger warning. I can't wait to read the 2nd part of this story so hopefully it comes soon.

This is the first part of a new duet, and this is Ember and Orion’s story.
Ember has had a tough life and is grieving the loss of her brother who died in a crash, which she barely survived from, while Orion “The Hunter” who is dangerous and obsessed, and who has stalked her for the past year.
This is a well written story which is intense and emotional, with angst, a stalker, loss, grief, touch her and die vibes, obsession, morally grey, twists and turns, danger, suspense, intrigue, trust, and entertaining, which leads to an unpredictable, dark mafia romance.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

This book had me hooked just wow! Ember I just wanted to hug her tight, her character was very emotional but when she meets Orion their paths cross this man oh my def deserves to be added to book boyfriends of 2025 He isn't the cocky billionaire that most tends to be , unhinged and obsessed yes but that's what captures you into wanting to read more, the spice in this book was hands down H-O-T for a man who lives a double life his heart & soul is dedicated to Ember and I abs love it 10/10 the authors writing, characters beyond chefs kiss can't wait to read more from this author Loved!!

Orion yum, he is dark, sexy and mysterious and will become your addiction. 

Orion and Ember have such a rollercoaster relationship, Orion is obsessive and relentless, and Ember is strong and guarded. They have such an intense chemistry that leaps of the pages its raw and magnetic. 

The story is gripping and emotional, which will have you unable to put the book down.


Sometimes, i think Montana hates us all with these cliffhangers. I am never okay after. 


Highly recommend and can't wait for book two.

This author has got to quit getting my hopes up with making it seem like he is going tk just kidnap her and yhe book will start with her hating him. Instead she falls in love with the guy and then finds out he’s the bad guy boring way overly done. He is so stupid foe not killing Lucas off immediately when he found out he planned kn buuing her the day he met her. He drags his feet and ao he leaves Lucas alive so everything Lucas does could have been aboided if he would have just lilled him like he should have

This book was incredible I literally devoured this book in 2 days and I couldn't put it down literally finished it at 2am going what the heck!
That ending though omg leaves you on a cliffhanger but it doesn't look like we have to wait long for While he sleeps to be released, thank god.

I love ember character and how she's been written and her mental health struggles are really raw and emotional to read.
Orion is living a double life he's king of the drug world and a masked killer.
