I thoroughly enjoyed Big Girl Blitz! I think this was a great close to the Curve series.

Jazmyn and Lamar were so cute and felt so natural as they got to know each other through the friends while also yearning for each other as well. I think Danielle Allen has such a great way of showing why her characters actually like each other outside of their obvious sexual chemistry. The spicy scenes were spicy, but if there were none at all I would still believe in these characters love story. They bonded so well and got along great through their common interest of football. These characters were fun to read and I loved how they supported each other through their ups and downs. There were times when I got a little frustrated with Jazmyn, but only because I understood her concern for the situation that she was in. She had a lot going on her life and her past relationship made her hesitant for new ones, but it was nice to see her open up with Lamar over time. I was really happy for her as I continued to read. And Lamar's overwhelming support for her was so great to read. He was extremely understanding and lovable!

Thank you Bramble and Macmillan Audio for the ARC and ALC!

Now, I do not think I’m a romance girl. But I felt that I needed something fresh and something featuring a plus size woman as the main love interest! Even with some of the romance books I’ve read I was unable to handle the spicy scenes. The same is true for this novel, which honestly made me uncomfortable with some of the descriptions. However! If that is your vibe then this book is for you. Minus the spice, it was fun to see the development of Jaz’s relationship with Lamar as well as her relationship with her supportive aunt Addison who's in hospice care. She has strong friendships and her relationship with Lamar begins as a friendship over their bond for football. Wesleigh Siobhan kept me coming back to this really long narrative. She takes her time to envision the voices and pacing of the characters. Thank you Macmillan Audio and Netgalley for this ALC.

I loved this last installment of the series. Jazmyn and Lamar’s relationship was told so well. Becoming friends first before getting to the nitty gritty was appreciated. Did Jaz get on my nerves at some points? Absolutely but I’m glad she came around. Her and her aunt relationship was much appreciated too. Them being so close was a breath of fresh air. All the relationships in the book were told in the perfect way.

Thank you Macmillan Audio for the ALC!

What It's About
Jazz has been burned by past relationships and isn't looking for anything serious, just a little fun. But when she returns to her hometown to care for her terminally ill aunt Addy, life slows down in unexpected ways. That's when she meets Lamar, an up and coming pro Football player. What starts as something light quickly turns into something deeper, even as Lamar's rising career begins to bring new pressures and challenges to their relationship.

Why It Works
The emotional core of this story really shines through the relationships., Jazz and her aunto Addy share a beautiful bond full of care, humor, and quiet understanding, and the romance between Jazz and Lamar feels warm and genuine as it grows. I also appreciated the size-inclusive representation, which added another thoughtful layer to the story.

What Made Me Pause
I listend to this one as an audiobook during my neighborhood walks, which was lovely until some of the pretty spicy scenes popped up unexpectedly. Let's just sayI may have blushed a little while passing my neighbors on the sidewalk.

Thank you NetGalley for this ALC in exchange for an honest review.

3.5⭐️

Overall, I enjoyed this story, but it was far longer than it needed to be. The spice (which honestly wasn’t excessive) felt a little cringy in how it was written and expressed.

I listened to the audio ALC, which was very well produced, and I think Wesleigh Siobhan did such a great job that it actually amplified that cringe factor during the spicy scenes. That said, her tone and pacing were excellent, and she truly brought the characters and story to life.

What really worked for me was the story itself. I appreciated the size representation and the realistic portrayal of how women of size experience the world—especially when suddenly placed in the spotlight. I also loved that the romance unfolded at a believable pace. There was no insta-love here, which made the relationship feel much more grounded and authentic.

Because of the length, I’d recommend the physical book for most readers unless you’re ready to commit to a 16.5-hour audiobook at 1x speed. I imagine this would be a fairly fast-paced romp in print form.

This was also a great reading experience featuring characters whose ethnicity differs from mine. It was meaningful to see both the shared human experiences and the moments that invite us to learn more about one another across cultures.

I am thankful to have received a complimentary ALC from Macmillan Audio via NetGalley, which gave me the opportunity to share my voluntary thoughts.

I love Danielle Allen, and Big Girl Blitz just reminded me why. This third book in the Curve series is everything I adore about her writing: sharp humor, unforgettable chemistry, and some of the best spicy scenes you can imagine. Truly, this series would make an incredible lineup of Netflix romcoms. It’s that funny, that charming, and that full of heart.

The audiobook elevated everything. Wesleigh Siobhan is a force. The way she seamlessly switches between her female and male voices is unreal. Her male voice never misses, and it adds so much depth and chemistry to every interaction. She puts the icing on top of an already delicious cake.

Jazmyn’s story carries a more serious emotional thread than the first two books, and Allen handles it with so much care. The love Jazz has for her Aunt Addison is woven through every decision she makes, and you feel the weight of that bond from the very beginning. Her journey is tender, complicated, and deeply relatable.

And then there’s Lamar. Whew. I was rooting for him to break down her walls (in more ways than one!) from the moment he stepped onto the page. He’s consistent, patient, and the way he loves Jazz is evident in every interaction. Their chemistry is electric, but it’s the emotional steadiness he brings that really makes their connection shine.

This book made me laugh, made me feel, and made me fall even harder for this entire series. Danielle Allen writes with so much humor, heat, and heart and the audiobook brings every bit of it to life.

Thank you Macmillan Audio for providing this ALC & Bramble for providing this eARC for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Thank you to Bramble and NetGalley for the ARC copy of the 3rd installment in the Curve Series.

It was good to finally meet Jazmyn and learn more about her story. Danielle Allen is a master at making her readers feel like they are a part of the friend group and group chat. Readers will experience every emotion as you dive into Jazz and Lamar's Story. You will laugh because of the witty banter. You will cry because this was so much more than Romance. This is a story about pure love and true love, not just Romantic love. It's about friendship, it's about family. It's about life. Life is beautiful and meant to be lived-Unapologetically! You will get frustrated with some characters, their situations and decisions. You will get Very Hot and VERY BOTHERED. But in the end , you will be so glad that you read the 3rd book. You will root for Jazmyn. Big Girl Blitz has a cast of loveable and unforgettable characters. You will take away life lessons and have your faith in Love restored once again because love is out there and it is out there for everyone! Do yourself a favor and don't come into this looking for Aaliyah and Ahmad or Nina and Russ. But open up your mind and your heart for Jazmyn Payne and the blitz of emotions you will encounter as you read her story.

First, thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the ALC of Big Girl Blitz by Danielle Allen.

Right before starting Big Girl Blitz, I reread the first two books in the series because I loved them so much and wanted everything fresh in my mind. That honestly made me even more excited to get to Jazz and Lamar’s story.

I’ve been looking forward to their book and it absolutely did not disappoint. Jazz is such a fun and confident character, but we also get to see more layers to her in this story. I loved watching their relationship unfold. Their chemistry, banter, and emotional moments. It all kept me fully invested the whole time.

The audiobook narration (and narrator) was amazing and really brought the story to life. I found myself having a hard time stopping the audiobook when I had to adult.

Overall, this was a fun and satisfying addition to the series. I already know I’ll be picking up a physical copy to add to my bookshelf when it’s published.

I could not have asked for a better ending to this amazing series. This book was about so much more than romantic love. Platonic, familial, and self love are so beautifully written throughout this story. Learning how to be you and love yourself for you unapologetically so. I laughed and cried and kicked my feet while reading this. The moments with her aunt were so heart warming and really helped develop Jazz into the person she was and then some. The loss of her aunt was devastating and brought me to tears. Their entire relationship up until the end was beautiful, loving, heartbreaking and everything in between. I am so sad that it’s come to an end but happy I got to experience it! This is Black love in all it’s glory.

Thank you Tor Publishing Group for this arc 🫶🏾. Danielle Allen makes you instantly connect with her characters. She writes black and plus size women in a way that touches on how their walk through life is different and harder but she doesn’t make the storyline self deprecating. Big girl blitz is a romantic love story but the author also shows us the importance of a village and sisterhood with the friendship between Jazmyn, Aaliyah and Nina, which I resonated with.

Jazmyn is such a layered character she finds it so hard to rely on people due to her relationship with her mother & childhood experiences. She’s hyper independent which at times can make you want to just shake her 😂😂. But she’s a character you continuously root for we see her experience heartbreak and grief, and come out of the other side of it. I particularly liked seeing the healing of her relationship between her and her mother.

Now let’s talk about Lamar he was exactly who Jazmyn deserved they meet in a period of her life where she’s going through a lot and he’s a a steady presence. They build such a strong foundation for their relationship by being friends. You wouldn’t think he’s younger than Jazmyn based on the way he carries himself. He’s such a patient & emotionally intelligent man 🤏🏾

Overall this was an amazing ending to the series and I cannot wait to see what Danielle Allen writes next💓

Babyyyy… when I tell you this book had me all in my feels!!!!!

I mean I read Big Girl Blitz in 6 or so hours because there was simply no putting it down.

Reading this story, I felt every single emotion right alongside the characters
I smiled… I cried… I cheered…
and at one point I was ready to grab my Vaseline, braid my hair back, and take my earrings off because the feelings were that real.

My heart is so full right now.
Like… deeply, soul level in love with this novel.

Even though this was My Sistahs Bookclub Summer Read pick, your girl was blessed to receive an early copy from Bramble Romance before the 4/14/16 pub date and listen… I devoured it immediately.

And yes, I’m absolutely going to read it again, because it’s just that phenomenal.

This is one of those stories that doesn’t just sit on your shelf…
it lives in your spirit.
In your heart.
In your soul.

And once again…
My Bestie @Danielle Allen did her BIG one.

What a great way to wrap up this interconnected series! Big Girl Blitz was one of my top anticipated reads of 2026 and I was lucky enough to receive an ALC.

This book lived up to my expectations and I absolutely loved both Jazmyn and Lamar. Jazz is a teacher who visits her aunt for a week every Summer, but this Summer is different because her aunt needs additional help and care. As her aunt is navigating the drastic decline in here health, she decides to write a bucket list and pushes Jazz to do the same. Aunt Addy wants them both to live their life to the fullest for the Summer.

When Jazmyn ends up in a bar, she runs into Lamar. They bond over their knowledge and love of football. He helps distract her from all of the important things happening in real life. With her aunt's push and blessing, Jazz continues to see Lamar and their relationship continues to grow. Soon she realizes that he knows Football as well as he does because he's a football player and he's finally getting his chance to prove himself on his team. With the pressure of a public relationship, comes expected and unexpected challenges. These challenges along with Jazz prioritizing caring for aunt will either make or break Jazmyn and Lamar.

The relationship itself was really sweet. Lamar was incredibly understanding of everything that Jazmyn was going through, he helps her through as much as he can, and is very protective of her. I love an MMC who is sure in his feelings for the FMC and waits patiently!

As with the other two books in this series, our FMC is plus sized. I love that our FMCs find partners who love them for exactly who they are and are so sexily attracted to them. That being said, Jazz deals with a lot of fatphobia from outside forces in this book and it very much affects her. I wanted to yell EFFTHEMPEOPLE to Jazz multiple times and just wanted her to stand upppp, but I am fully aware that she has her reasons, fears, feelings, etc. There were very much some frustrating moments, but overall I really loved this story and I was cheering Jazz on from start to finish!!

Thank you to Netgalley and MacMillan Audio for the ALC!

And that’s how you end a series.

Danielle Allen delivered an emotional, romance-forward finale that gave me everything I crave: depth, growth, yearning, humor, and side characters who keep the tea hot while hyping up the FMC. She took it up 10 notches with spice too!!

Thank you to the author/publishing team for the ARC copy.

The book follows Jazz. Jazz returns home to care for her sick aunt, Addy, and unexpectedly falls hard for Lamar. What starts as comfort slowly builds into something tender, intentional, and deeply affirming. Their chemistry feels natural ; not rushed or not forced. Lamar doesn’t just desire Jazz, he sees her. And that matters.

As Jazz and Addy navigate this season of life together, they push each other to confront old wounds and take risks they may have once been too afraid to take. The emotional growth feels raw and real. Jazz’s instinct to shut things down before she can be hurt … broke my heart especially because you can’t help but root for her to finally believe she deserves love.

For fans of the series, Jazz has always been the strong “mama” of the group with Nina & Aaliyah — the anchor. Seeing her story unfold with this level of vulnerability was refreshing and powerful.

This was the most emotional book in the Curve series. Danielle Allen continues to center plus-size women with nuance — the confident ones, the overly sexualized ones, and the ones who had to grow into their confidence.
The Easter eggs for readers of Plus Size Player make it feel like a love letter to fans.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ALC. I listened to the audiobook for my review.

“I love that you see me.”

🌶️ Spice: 5/5

This sports romance was a really enjoyable read. Jazz, a plus-size teacher, meets Lamar, an NFL defensive player working his way from the practice squad to the active roster. What begins as a friendship after they meet at a sports bar slowly develops into something more.

As a plus-size woman myself, I really appreciated the representation and how the story explores insecurities around being seen, accepted, and claimed publicly. The banter throughout the book — especially with Jazz’s friends and Aunt Addie — added a lot of warmth to the story. Aunt Addie was easily one of my favorite characters.

Lamar was definitely a good book boyfriend. I loved the way he showed up for Jazz and the way he loved and protected her.

I received the ALC, so my reading experience was through the audiobook — and it was phenomenal! Wesleigh Siobhan truly brought the story to life and made the characters feel even more vivid.

Overall, I really enjoyed this read!

This book was everything that Kennedy Ryan wanted Can’t Get Enough to be. From taking care of a sick loved one to having a man who can give you everything this was executed perfectly. Even the epilogue gave me what I wanted … unlike the other book.

If anyone had high expectations for can’t get enough and those lacked, I highly recommend this book . Thank you to Macmillan Audio for the gifted copy :)

Ummmm did I just stay up to 6 AM reading this book?? Yes. Yes I did. And I'm not ashamed to admit that 😭

I'm sorry but I loved this book soooo much!! Like everything about it was just 🥹🥹

👫🏾 The Characters:

💜Jaz: first of all... I loveeee me a FMC with locs!! 😍 okay anywho- Jaz! Love her downnn, but sometimes I just wanted to take her and smack some sense into her cause ma'am.. F them people fr but I loved how real she was honestly. I absolutely hated her backstory and seeing all she had to go through but I'm so glad she had Addie to help her through everything.

💜 Lamar: listennnn! We love a man who speaks with actions and intentions then follows up with words!! I was not at all disappointed by him! The true definition of "whatever you want, it's yours" and I very much enjoyed seeing it.

💜Addieeeeee: probably my fave character in the story!! And that's saying a lot because I absolutely adore Nina but baby Addie was dropping gems the whole book!! Had me crying and taking notes!

📓 The Plot:
I loved everything about this plot in all honesty. Th beginning friendship to budding romance to undeniably in love 🤌🏾😍 I loved that their relationship progress felt real, and you could really feel the chemistry between Jaz and Lamar while reading. It didn't feel forced, it was all perfect! The side plot revolving around Jaz and Auntie Addie's relationship was so real and legit had me crying real tears!! I'm sure we've all had an auntie or older family friend who gave Addie vibes so the whole situation revolving her literally gutted me 😭😭

🥵 The Spice:
The spice was spicing honey! That's all I got to say 😂

🫶🏾 Favorite Quotes:

📝 “You have everything you need within you to thrive. You’ve existed for long enough. Now it’s time for you to live. You need to ignite that fire within you.”

📝 “You.” His eyes bored into mine. “It’s the way you look … the way you speak … the way you think … the way you make me think. I felt you, and I liked what I felt. I like being around you.”

Overall:
Definitely a 5-star read for me and I expected nothing less from Danielle Allen! This book was everything I needed! Definitely preordered my shelf copy and if you made it this far in my review then you should too!

Okay I'm finally going to bed now! Thank you so much Danielle Allen, NetGalley, and Tor Publishing Group for an early release copy of this book! This was one of my most anticipated reads for the year and I'm so glad I was able to read it early! All thoughts are my own!

Thanks to Macmillan Audio for letting me read and review this book early. All thoughts are my own!!

Wesleigh Siobhan deserves all of the awards, whatever awards you can give someone for a phenomenal performance as an audiobook narrator. Every time I see that she’s narrating a book, I know it’s going to be so good that I’ll end up crying at least once. This book is no different! (Except I cried a lot!!) She brings these characters to life in a way that makes the reader feel like they’re right there watching it all unfold. That’s TALENT!!

Jazmyn’s relationship with her aunt is the shining star of this book. Her aunt is her person and the one who was her safe space when her parents couldn’t be. She cheered Jazmyn on and made sure she didn’t let her life fall to the wayside while caring for her aunt. I did indeed sob for a while towards the end of this book, and I’m not sure I’d be able to reread that part specifically. However, the bond these two share will last beyond death, and it was so special to read about.

This friend group is one of my favorites in any series I’ve ever read. They’re truly so special to me, and I’m gonna miss reading about them now that this series is over. They care so deeply for each other, and they will drop whatever they’re doing when one of them needs it. I sometimes find that I love the female friendships in romances almost more than the actual romance, and it’s definitely a close call here.

Now for the romance?
Jazmyn and Lamar are a top tier couple!! They cared so much for each other and showed up for each other even when they weren’t dating yet. I really loved the way their relationship was built up. They had such a deep and loving connection, and I was constantly just in awe over how they cared for each other.

Lamar “ANYTHING YOU WANT” Anderson donated money to rebuild the gazebo at the library because she said it was her favorite place growing up, sent her an expensive journal that she wanted, and paid her rent. I was basically a mess every time this man did something for her, well before they were officially together.

Jazmyn was constantly uplifting Lamar and encouraging him before games and after hard losses. Their dynamic worked so well because they knew what the other person needed from them. They were each other’s safe place, and I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!!! They’re so sweet and caring and sexy and UGH I NEVER WANTED THIS BOOK TO END!!

Cannot wait to get a copy of this book for my shelves, and I will be impatiently waiting or whatever Danielle Allen writes next!!

Big Girl Blitz — Danielle Allen
Curve Series #3 • ARC via NetGalley

The Curve series has not missed yet. Big Girl Blitz is tender, sexy, and full of that grown‑folks emotional honesty that makes you want to hug the book when you’re done.

Jazmyn is the kind of heroine you root for instantly ... a woman who’s been through some things, carries old wounds a little deeper than she lets on, and is finally learning to choose herself without apology. The way Allen writes her journey the confidence rebuilding, the quiet grief, the soft reopening of her heart feels so real and so familiar for anyone who’s ever been underestimated or talked down to because of their body.

And then Lamar walks in like a walking green flag. He’s steady, intentional, quietly generous, and absolutely smitten in a way that feels safe and grown. Their chemistry is sweet and slow building, but when it hits? Oh, it hits. The spice is top tier not gratuitous, not rushed, just two adults who genuinely like each other finally letting that tension cook.

One thing I loved about this book is how it handles body image and public perception without making it the whole plot. Allen captures that very real pressure bigger-bodied women face the unsolicited opinions, the assumptions, the “you should be grateful” nonsense but she balances it with joy, desire, and a romance that feels affirming instead of corrective.

And listen… her friend group deserves their own novella. They show up for her in all the right ways giving her space when she needs to breathe, pushing her when she’s stuck in her head, and hyping her like it’s a salaried position. The banter had me laughing out loud.

Narration:
Wesley Siobhan? Yeah… she showed out. She voiced this entire book like she had a whole cast behind her. The range, the emotion, the way she shifts between characters — you genuinely forget it’s one narrator. It feels like fourteen people are in the booth giving you a full production.

She never misses a beat. Every time she narrates something, I’m listening immediately. No hesitation. She elevates the story, the characters, the tension — all of it. Truly one of those narrators who turns a good book into an experience.

This book is soft, sexy, emotionally grounded, and full of heart. I’m so grateful I got to read it early, because Danielle Allen continues to give bigger-bodied women the kind of love stories we deserve visible, intentional, and full of joy.

"Are you figuring out what you want or do you know what you want and are afraid to stand in it?"
"His sincerity and earnestness always managed to soothe my mind, endear my heart, and set my body on fire."

Big thanks to Macmillan for the ALC! It is always an amazing listen when Wesleigh narrates a story because she always pours so much emotion and feelings to the story that is always a cherry on top to the story telling. I was always curious about Jazmyn in the first two books of the Curve Series because she was always reserved and to herself. I am so glad her story was told last, because it was truly an emotional but powerful read! No one really talks about the journey of what it is like to see a loved one who is strong and vibrant in life, turn into a sickly person... No one wants to talk about the idea of mourning said loved one when the changes are so evident and preparing for the next stage of life they experience. I think the author did a phenomenal job addressing these sensitive topics surrounding grief, love, and living in the moment. Jazmyn and her Aunt Addy relationship is so so beautiful and felt like a warm hug. I admired the amount of wisdom Aunt Addy always instilled in Jazmyn and truly pushed her to live her life in the moment and bask in the happiness around her. Their time together and bucket list was so fun, emotional, and entertaining to read!

Oof! Now Lamar and Jazmyn's vibe was hot and heavy from the start and I LOVED that! I loved their banter and early reactions to one another, I was giggling and squealing with excitement. Their first encounter (along with every other encounter) always felt like such a good vibe. They meshed so well together and I like that Lamar was not playing around when it came to Jazmyn. The sports aspect was the perfect cherry on top and I love how the both of them helped the other and supported the other with their dreams and aspirations.

I love the way the author was able to distinguish and really differentiate the personalities of Jazmyn, Aaliyah, and Nina. Their stories are all so different and their thought processes are unique and it added so much depth to their own stories and how they support one another in their own journeys. I will miss this series and will cherish forever and ever!!

Danielle just keeps giving me more book boyfriends and making them better each time !!! I loved Ahmad in Curvy Girl Summer, fell hard for Russ in Plus Size Player, and now I'm ruined for all other fictional men thanks to none other then Mr.Lamar Anderson ! 😍😍

Jazmyn Payne is smart, intelligent, and down to earth, but people are too busy looking AT her that they can't see it. She has curves, she has thighs, she's a size 16 and thats all they see... Until Lamar Anderson! He didn't just see her beauty on the outside, he seen her beauty on the inside as well. He seen her beautiful soul! 🤭

Although her younger years in her home town were full of bullying and hiding herself away, she has managed to grab hold to an amazing group of friends ( Nina & Aaliyah) and finally have a new place where she feels she belongs. Not to say her adult years aren't hard, because she had a sad excuse of a ex-husband who doesn't even deserve my energy typing about him. 🙄Anywho... Over the last few years she also been mourning the unfortunate day that she'll have to say goodbye to her number 1 cheerleader, Aunt Addy! 🥹🥺

Lamar Anderson is humble, caring, and ambitious. When he first meets Jazz they bond over a football game on the tv at a bar. They click so well that it didn't even feel like they were strangers just a few hours ago. All it took was that one night and he knew he wanted more but he also knew if he didn’t want to mess things up he needed to patient with Jazz. And patient he was. I'm not going to tell yall too much about Mr.Anderson, but just know this man is anything but ordinary! 🥰☺️

I won't ruin this book for you, but just know I felt like Aunt Addy was talking to me throughout this book! As she was passing some of her wisdom and sass down to Jazz, I took it in too! I can relate to Jazmyn on multiple things, so to read a book and feel seen was truly beautiful! ☺️🥹 Istill struggle with some of the same fears and self doubt that Jazz did, but I feel as though I found a little healing through this book as well, so Ms.Danielle Allen.. Thank you!

Thank you to NetGalley and Tor Publishing Group for allowing me the opportunity to read the E-ARC of,Big Girl Blitz.

Title: Big Girl Blitz
Author: Danielle Allen
Gerne: Romance
Format: ebook & audio
Narrated: Wesleigh Siobhan
Star Rating: 5 stars

Because life’s too short, and mean girls ain’t sh…
Jazmyn Payne fled her hometown—and the fat phobes who made her life hell– the minute she graduated high school. Growing up, her haven was her Aunt Addison, and when her health takes a drastic turn, she insists that Jazz should spice up her life. Emphasis on spice.

Daniella Allen hasn't missed yet. This is my third book by her, and Big Girl Blitz makes it my third book. I must say so far this entire series is easily five stars in my opinion. I took my time with this book. Normally, I would have devoured this book in one sitting, but this book took me maybe two and a half days. I really didn't want this book to end. Jazmyn was that girl. I just wish she had the confidence she needed to show everyone she was, but I understood why she didn't. I also liked the representation from the young girl that was also in Jazmyn's corner. I understand she didn't want people at her job in her business, but I wish she had opened up to some of her coworkers that she trusted or something. The relationship Jazmyn had with her auntie really hit me in the chest, because that is the type of relationship I had with my aunt before she passed, so I think that is why I didn't want to rush this story and just wanted to sit in the moment. Lamar was a green flag and I loved that for Jazmyn he was rocking with her from the first time they met each other. The only thing I wish happened was that Jazmyn confronted the people that did her wrong, and showed them she wasn't that little girl they bullied back in the day.

The audiobook is narrated by my favorite, Wesleigh Siobhan. She did an amazing job, as always. Her male voice just does something to me. I always forget that she is a woman when she does that voice. That's just how amazing she really is. She is easy to listen to and also understand. I listened at 2x speed.

The Ending: Happily
Would I Recommend: Yes, Yes, Yes
Days Read: 2.5 days

Thank you, NetGalley, Macmillan Audio for the audiobook, and Tor Publishing Group for the ebook in exchange for my honest review.

This book is perfect for those who already love Danielle Allen's writing. This book tells the story of Jazz, who is struggling through her grief at knowing her aunt may pass away while also trying to put herself back on the dating scene after she meets and connects with Lamar who is a professional football player.

While I wanted to enjoy this story, the dialogue was a bit much for me. Usually, I love dialogue, but in this book, it seemed to make the book drag and I think it's because it was extremely repetitive and didn't advance the story in any way. Examples:

"...he came out the bathroom like a ghost, and it took everything in me not to knock his ass out", and later, "But he did come out that bathroom like a ghost."

"Wait you're going to be in Chance for two more weeks?", and later, "So you're still in Chance?"

"...the way he was on my voicemail begging for you to call him", and "...just thinking of the way he sounded on my voicemail begging for you to call him."

Additionally, the pacing of this book could have been better. By page 169, Lamar had met Jazz's friends, she'd met his mom, and they'd had sex several times. What else was left to explore in their relationship? The entire second half after that was an absolute drag because there was very little tension or conflict and it just became her day-to-day schedule. Go to work, come home, talk to Lamar on the phone, rinse and repeat for the next 100 pages. I was bored out of my mind in the second half of this book and soft DNFd at page 189. I skipped to the end, and it looks like Lamar and Jazz got their HEA, and we find out that Lamar paid for the gazebo to be fixed, as well as paid Jazz's rent through the rest of the year to prove his love. And I love that they were happy, so good for Jazz.

All in all, the Curvy series wasn't my cup of tea. I DNFd Curvy Girl Summer, and I DNFd this one as well. I haven't read the second book, and I don't think I will after DNFing the two other books in the series. I do think this series is perfect for those who like witty and elongated banter, and don't mind FMCs who are a bit male centered. Thank you to the publishers and Netgalley for this E-ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own

Danielle Allen delivers an emotional story about love, self-worth, grief & learning how to move forward from the things that shaped you. I ate this audio up!

This was my first Danielle Allen book, & even though it’s the third in the series, I never felt lost going in without reading the earlier books. The friendships & shared history clearly run deep, but Jazmyn’s story still felt complete on its own.

I really connected with Jazmyn. Her childhood trauma & the way returning to her hometown brings some of those feelings rushing back felt incredibly real. She’s such a strong FMC who constantly shows up for the people she loves, but watching her struggle to give herself that same grace was tough at times. She lets fear guide her decisions for a little too long when it comes to Lamar, but seeing her slowly work through that growth made the payoff worth it.

Lamar is absolutely a swoony, top-tier book boyfriend. Even though the story is told from Jazmyn’s POV, you can clearly feel how deeply he cares about her through the way he shows up & supports her. Their chemistry felt natural, & I loved how their shared love of football gave them another layer of connection. There were definitely moments where I wanted to yell at them to just talk to each other already.

Jazmyn’s relationship with her Aunt Addy added so much heart to the story & brought an emotional layer that really stayed with me.

I loved Wesleigh Siobhan's narration. She brought a lot of emotion to Jazmyn’s voice & made the heavier moments really land. The way she portrayed Lamar, as well, really had me fully immersed in this story.

My only real critique is that the story felt a little long in places, especially when Jazmyn’s fears about Lamar circled the same thoughts more than once. But overall this was a heartfelt, emotional romance with a strong FMC, a swoony love interest & a lot of growth along the way.

Hi all especially my queen @authordanielleallen who I hope always has a cool side of her pillow💚!

Incase y’all were wondering THIS is my new favorite book in the Curve Series (srry to my previous fav Curvy Girl Summer, you had a strong run).

FOREVER THANK YOU TO partner @macmillanaudio #MacAudio2026 for the gifted audiobook and @bramble for the ability to read and review before pub day.

This book had me alternating through every human emotion possible—sobbing, crying laughing, being furious, and blushing & kicking my feet. It tackled hard topics like end of life grief of a family member, fat phobia, small towns small town-ing, people who peaked in HS (eeeeeeehhhhyuck🤣😬), dating/ looking for love with intimacy anxiety issues and past trauma….and soooo much more! Deeply on so many levels this book was soooo relatable and soooooo healing as a 30-something Plus-Sized Black Gal from a small town who has intamacy issues and an avoidant attachment style😬😂😅🥹

While this was a long book, at just shy of 500 pages and 16.5hrs on audio (if you don’t speed it to 2x like I do with all my audios) I have absolutely no qualms and no notes about it. It FLEW BY, was engaging the entire time, and selfishly I could have listened to 16 more hrs of it, no problem! The audiobook was done fantastically (THE WAIT WAS WORTH IT)…like seriously PERFECTION! I can honestly say this IS my favorite audiobook I’ve ever listened to! For all my romance x audiobook peeps; YOU NEED TO GET YOU SOME OF THESE (the Big Girl Blitz audiobook).

If you are interested in the series but it feels daunting seeing that this is book # 3 in the series fear not. While I do recommend reading all the books in the series, the books are in an interconnected series, with characters from other books making appearances BUT they can exist as standalone books! SO JUST PICK UP ONE AND GET READING if you already haven’t!

This one is out ⭐️APRIL 14TH⭐️ so don’t forget to pre-order/ ask your library to stock plenty of copies of this one!!!!

This is the spicy sports romance with a plus-sized beautiful black FMC that you have been waiting for! Jazmyn is a teacher and has come back to town as her beloved Aunt Addison (who has been more like a mom to Jazmyn) is at the end of her life. Addison has had a stroke and Jazmyn wants to be here to support her and her care team, and stops into a sports bar to watch the Baltimore NFL football game where she meets Lamar Anderson. He is tall, dark, handsome, athletic, and seems to love football as much as Jazmyn does. Soon she finds out that he doesn't just LOVE football, it is his career also. Aunt Addison wants Jazmyn to start living her best life, it has been 2 years since her divorce and she hasn't dated at all.

First of all, this may be a *bit* too spicy for my own personal taste, but I know that is perfect for others! This is a romance that has a lot of substance, the grief that Jazmyn has for her aunt and how she fits into her family, she has really strong friendships (girlfriends chiming in with their loud opinion are the BEST) and stepping into her power after finding her next chapter. I was rooting for Jazz and Lamar ALL the way! I thought they had a great friendship and the relationship was more than just their physical chemistry, he was so respectful and thoughtful of her. She was so supportive of his career and wanted the best for him. I think what I loved best about Lamar was how he made her feel KNOWN. Isn't that what we all want?

Audiobook review- this is a top notch audio performance, I loved the narrator and the passion and sparkling personality she put into all the characters. It is well paced for audio and is well worth the listen. I just had to pre-order the paperback for my shelves as a trophy!

Thank you to NetGalley and MacMillan Audio for the ALC. Book to be published April 14, 2026.

Read This Book If…you’re down for an emotional and spicy story!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Big Girl Blitz by Danielle Allen

Genre: sports romance
Series: Curve # 3
Setting: small town Virginia
POV: single, 1st person, past tense
Spice Level: 5/5🌶, 5+ explicit scenes, kinky
Tropes/Kinks: pro football player, friends with benefits, bucket list, bondage, edging

Audiobook Thoughts: This book has a single narrator and she really brought the emotion to the characters! While there were many sad parts throughout this story, I thought the narrator sounded on the verge of tears too often.

My Thoughts:
I thought this was such a satisfying end to a series! While all three books start at the same time, we had only gotten hints of what Jazmyn was up to, so I was thrilled to finally get her story!

Lamar was a top-tier book boyfriend! I really enjoyed getting to see him be there for Jazz and show his support. She was so supportive of him, too - I loved her pre-game texts! These characters did have me screaming at the book quite often… Just talk to each other! Open up a little!! Stop being scared!!! But that’s what kept me hooked; there was some serious character growth happening.

This is definitely the spiciest of the series, both in number of scenes and the introduction of some light kink. And those scenes were hot, hot, hot!!

I found the pacing in the last act to be a little off. Social media is a big part of the story, but I wished there had been more in-person conflicts and resolutions. But overall, I found this story to be emotional and satisfying!

Memorable Quote: “Perfectionism is a flawed way to move through an imperfect world.”

Thank you to the publisher for my advance copy! This book will be available April 14!

4.75 stars!
Danielle Allen did her absolute biggest one with Big Girl Blitz. I loved this story so much because of how it blended important topics tackled such as end of life care for a loved one and facing trauma from childhood bullying with FUN and some really steamy scenes. The friendship between Jazmyn, Nina, and Aaliyah displayed throughout the Curve series has been so heartwarming to witness and I will truly jump for joy if this series gets any type of screen adaptation.

Big Girl Blitz was easily my favorite in the series because we got to really dive into Jazmyn’s childhood, deep connection with her ailing aunt, her passion for writing and football, and of course her budding relationship with Lamar.

Lamar was a grade A book boyfriend and everything that Jazmyn deserved. Watching the two of them spoil each other and constantly act as a reliable support for one another made me so happy. I won’t lie, I was feeling so frustrated at the height of their conflict because dammit just love each other LOL but it was so worth it in the end.

Now without a doubt, my favorite part of the reading experience was the audiobook!! Wesleigh Siobhan brought this story to LIFE. The words were already great enough on page but hearing Wesleigh perform each character’s distinct personality in my ear really allowed me to lose myself in this story and feel like I was living that book to screen adaptation I’m hoping for. I genuinely believe listening to the audiobook (or immersive reading like I did) is non-negotiable for this book. Both Danielle and Wesleigh did too phenomenal of a job for this to be eyeball read only.

This was such a great read and if I’m not mistaken, one of Danielle Allen’s longest. But listen… not a single page felt wasted. Lamar and Jazzy? Whew. I loved them down. Lamar was steady, intentional, and showing up in every way that mattered. And Jazzy? Let’s be real she frustrated me. Sis was constantly second-guessing a man who was literally giving her everything she said she wanted. It had me wanting to tap her on the shoulder like, “Ma’am. Please.” But here’s the thing that frustration didn’t take away from the story. If anything, it made it feel real. Jazzy’s doubts didn’t come from Lamar’s actions. They came from the noise. The comments. The outside opinions. And the way this book tackled social media bullying, especially in adulthood was sharp and necessary. The message of “don’t read the comments” rang loud and clear. Every insecurity was fueled by online chatter, not by what was actually happening in her real-life relationship. That felt intentional. And honest. I also loved how the story intertwined with previous books. It was like a subtle memory jog little moments that reward longtime readers without confusing new ones. That kind of continuity? Top tier. Danielle Allen’s writing continues to be elite. She weaves in current conversations and real-world commentary in a way that feels organic, not preachy. The dialogue feels lived in. The relationships feel layered. And the themes hit. Overall, this was emotional, frustrating (in the best way), romantic, and socially aware. Danielle Allen does not miss.

What a great way to end the Curve series. During the first two books I was always interested to know more about Jazmyn. I was happy to read a series about plus sized women as the main love interests. Danielle Allen has a great way of displaying that the characters are interested in each other outside of sex. Becoming friends first is always a great way to begin a relationship.

Jazmyn’s character touched me to much especially her relationship with her aunt Addie. Although I grew frustrated with her at times but I understand that she was afraid of what others outside of her circle may think especially with Lamar’s newfound stardom. I enjoyed reading about her getting everything she deserves.

Lamar was such a delight to read about, he was genuine from the start and he stood on everything he ever said to Jazmyn and I love that for the both of them. He was very patient and consistent with her, you could tell her loved her from the very start. The passion & chemistry between them is electrifying. I especially loved Jazmyn’s pre and post game messages to Lamar. That such a small detail of their relationship I enjoyed reading.

I loved Aunt Addie, we all have that one family member that we admire and all she wanted for Jazmyn was for her to spice up her like & be happy (on purpose).

Again, this was a great ending to the series and it was good to read characters from the previous books are still their crazy selves. I’m a sucker for a good romance with ALOT of spicy scenes and this book gave just that!

Thank you Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for this ALC 💚🏈💜
