Alexis Ferguson has been abandoned by every supernatural loved one in her life, and she can’t even remember why. In fact, she keeps having memory lapses. She’s sure that finding out why is the key to finding the others.
Meanwhile, she must live with her family, pretending to be human. She tries to ignore her basic paranormal needs, and begins to waste away. Alexis nearly takes out her entire family at a holiday meal. She knows she needs to take care of herself, but can’t find the motivation until another supernatural steps in, concerned for her well-being. He’s gorgeous, so what could go wrong? Other than the fact that he’s a werewolf …and her teacher.
Silent Bite works as #3.5 because it takes place during the time of Forgotten – during the time Alexis was having multiple memory lapses.
Stacy Claflin writes about complex women overcoming incredible odds. Whether it's her Gone trilogy of psychological thrillers, her ongoing Transformed paranormal saga, or her Seaside Hunters sweet romance series, Stacy's three-dimensional heroines shine through.
Decades after she wrote her first stories on construction paper and years after typing on an inherited green screen computer that weighed half a ton, Stacy realized her dream of becoming a full-time author.
When she's not busy writing or educating her kids from home, Stacy enjoys watching TV shows like Supernatural, Pretty Little Liars, and Once Upon a Time.
I have been provided with a copy of Silent Bite by the author for an impartial review. This book is best read between Forgotten and Ascension the third and fourth book in the Transformed series. Silent Bite goes back before Forgotten takes place and shows the several months that Alexis is back at her human home with no memory of her 9 previous months at the castle. Even though this takes place before Forgotten happens it is better to read this story after just because what’s so good about Forgotten is the mystery and not being aware of what’s going on if you read Silent Bite first it ruins some of the anticipation of Forgotten. I really enjoyed getting to go back and read this and see how some of Alexis memory lapses took place and getting to see if she can move on from her vampire friends and family. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
It's crazy about that stupid spell she has over her but it's a good thing that she has Toby even though he's a werewolf. His body guards seemed like they didn't care 4 a vamp 2 b anywhere around him 4 his own protection since they were more enemy of the species. But it's in a way good that she knows that the other's r still looking 4 her even though she still has lapses but it's more temporary than permanent. So that's a good thing.
I received this book from the author in return for a fair and honest review.
This book fills in some of the gaps that are in Forgotten. It takes place after Alexis has returned to Delphic Cove but before she starts regaining her memory.
It gives you an idea of what Alexis is going through and how she feels about being 'cast away' by the vampire kingdom. Now, if you've read Forgotten you know that there is a happy ending, but this quick read explains how Alexis and Tobias got together and some of the issues that they faced. It also shows how Hailey and Alexis became friends, something I never thought I'd see happen.
This was a good read for a novella but really it must be read as part of the series for it to make complete sense. Another wonderful series to read if you are a fan of Young Adult and Paranormal Romance.
After completing the transformed series I am reading all side short stories. This was the first one I choose to read. It's creative, brilliant and expressive. A must read for any transformed fan. On to my next one.
What a great story. The budding romance between Alexis and Tobias is sweet. Looking forward to seeing where it goes. I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
( I received a digital copy of the book. Thanks to Stacy Claflin! )
......it was so wrong that it was right
The book was pretty good but after reading the third book in the series I felt like I knew these parts. Yet it felt good to read it and get a better insight into her memory lapses and see how the spell worked. Even when Cliff and Alrekur were actually talking to Alexis, they couldn't recognize her. That's pretty intense and scary!!
Excited to know what happens next. The last book has left me curious and this book just fills in the gaps but gives no clue as to what happens next....where the last book left..
