She runs a cupcake shop. He’s a wolf shifter with a badge. When sweet meets savage, sparks fly, and danger rises.

I don’t scare easily. Not when my gourmet cupcake shop, Sea Salt & Sugar, is the hottest spot on the strand. Not when I’ve built everything from scratch with a whisk, grit, and stubborn dreams. But lately, things aren’t adding up—employees quitting without notice, orders going missing, small “accidents” that feel anything but accidental.

I should’ve known telling my best friend would lead to trouble, especially when her big brother is none other than Gideon Bonham. Former military. Texas Ranger. And the man who once starred in every teenage fantasy I ever had. He shows up with a wink and an application to be my assistant baker. I rip it up. He bakes anyway.

Turns out, he’s not just Kari’s older brother anymore. He’s a wolf shifter on a break between assignments, and now he’s in my kitchen, under my roof, and way too close to the parts of me I’ve kept carefully locked away.

But the threats are escalating. The saboteur is getting bold. And every time Gideon’s near, my heart beats louder than my KitchenAid mixer on high.

When the case is closed, will he walk away or stay to claim his mate?

Maggie owns a bakery but all of sudden her employees are quitting for no reason, she can't get supplies, nothing seems to be adding up. When Gideon her best friends older brother shows up applying for a job at her bakery she tears is application up. But he bakes anyway and he's a great baker. Gideon knows that Maggie is his mate but she doesn't know he's a wolf shifter. Can he solve her problems at the bakery and claim her too? Gideon and Maggie are great together. This is the second book in this series and has romance, and mystery and it's suspenseful too. I loved this paranormal romance.

This book is the second in a series but can be read as a standalone. I thought the story was good and it held my attention well, although there were some slow spots. I liked the characters and I think Gideon and Maggie pair well together. The Chas Warren character could have used better background and context. He was introduced into the storyline like there was some back story between Maggie and him, but we aren’t given the details. That felt incomplete to me, but overall I thought it was a pretty good read.

FIGHTING FOR JUSTICE

The story is an addition to the series, Lone Star Wolf Rangers. It will revolve around five men, all wolf-shifters, all former military. The men, Zane ‘Rush’ Rushton, Dalton Calhoun, Navy SEAL, Gideon Bonham, Marine Raider, Deacon Winslow, Marine Force Recon, and Gage Remington, SOAR Night Stalker, all recruited by the Governor of Texas and made Rangers.

“Five men with no family. Five men who bled for this country and came back to nothing but ghosts.”

“We need something different. Something stronger. Something that doesn’t play by the rules. You’ll be Rangers. Officially, you’re Company W—an experimental unit focused on borderland crimes. Unofficially? You’re ghosts. You answer only to me.” Texas Governor

Galveston, Texas, Maggie Tate, owner of Sea Salt & Sugar Bakery, is plagued with multiple mishaps, order discrepancies, issues with her equipment, and a revolving door of employees, and now, Kyle, her assistant baker, has left, leaving her a note. When Maggie shares her problems with her best friend, Kari Bonham, she never expects Gideon Bonham to show up. While she tries to ignore his presence, she is relieved to have him and his protection.

“Each time I glance at my staff, the words echo—unfamiliar faces, different vendors, a revolving door. It isn’t just gossip.”

Gideon is part of the special unit of Rangers, known as Company W. When he learns of all the issues Maggie is having, he drops everything to head to her location in Galveston and investigate. It is apparent that something underhanded is taking place, and he plans on finding out who and why.
The story has the good, the bad, and the evil in people. It is part mystery with romantic suspense, along with solving crimes and righting wrongs.

Businesses closing all around Maggie is key that more is in play, and Company W Rangers will be working behind the scenes to uncover who, what, why, when, and where. The story is multi-layered, with the mystery in the wharf area near Maggie, and all she has endured. It is also two people, Gideon and Maggie, who have known each other for years, are secretly in love with one another, and are now working together, sharing her loft, and allowing their relationship to progress. The chemistry between them sizzles, and Gideon knows she is his mate, but he wants to be honest with her, telling her he is a wolf-shifter, something she accepts and even embraces.

As a reader, I was immersed in the character, their interactions, and the storyline as it unfolded. It was a page-turner. I always cheer when good wins over evil—and yes, evil does get its comeuppance. But it is even better when two people find love. The next story has an intro at the end of this story—so be ready for Deacon.

3.75stars-RANGER’S CODE is the second instalment in Delta James’ contemporary, adult LONE STAR WOLF RANGERS erotic, paranormal, romance series focusing on a group of former Texas Rangers Team W: Rush, Gideon, Dalton, Deacon and Gage. This is wolf shifter and Texas Ranger Gideon Bonham, and bakery owner Maggie Tate’s story line. RANGER’S CODE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Gideon and Maggie) RANGER’S CODE follows in the wake of sabotage against our story line heroine. Maggie Tate owns and operates Sea Salt Sugar bakery but in recent weeks deliveries are missed, wrong, and vandalised; staff has quit, and supplies have been tainted and sabotaged. Someone is targeting our story line heroine, and Gideon Bonham has declared himself guardian and protector of the woman he will claim as his mate.

The world building focuses on greed and vengeance, and the protection of our story line heroine. Gideon is determined to protect Maggie, all the while , take down the people taking aim, but they will quickly discover betrayal comes from many angles.

The relationship between Maggie and Gideon is a frenemies to lovers. Maggie is best friends with Gideon’s sister Kari but Maggie is unaware of the siblings supernatural powers. Gideon knows immediately that Maggie is his mate but Maggie’s protection will coincide with his need to claim. The $ex scenes are seductive and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are reintroduced to several members of Team W: Gage, Deacon, Dalton, as well as Gideon’s sister Kari.

RANGER’S CODE is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, fate and family. The character driven premise is fast paced, engaging and captivating; the romance is once again limited but seductive; the character are determined and desperate.

Though I liked the wolf shifter Texas Ranger who bakes to relieve his job stress, I found this book to be pretty boring. Gideon is roped in by his sister to find out what is going on at her best friend's bakery in Galveston. It seems that there are suddenly a whole lot of events that appear to be designed to shut the bakery down. Problems with ovens, walk-in freezers, and even frosting pipers. Workers are quitting without notice, product orders are wrong, and Maggie is having a hard time keeping up with the work since her assistant baker suddenly quit. She doesn't want to believe it is sabotage, but it is increasingly obvious that someone wants her to close for good.

Maggie is suspicious when her best friend's brother shows up out of nowhere and applies for the assistant baker job. In fact, she shuts that idea down immediately, but then Gideon rescues her in the ally behind the bakery from two men who appear to be there to accost her. She relents and lets him show her what he can do in the kitchen. She is amazed that he can actually bake, but he is also there to protect, and his wolf is determined to do just that.

While this premise is interesting and the characters are engaging, the story drags. There is too much repetition and oodles of unnecessary descriptions, and not enough action. The heated interactions between Gideon and Maggie slowly rise, but then seem to suddenly go into a rolling boil.

I'm sure I am describing it badly, but I don't want to give away too much. I'll let you decide for yourself. I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

a gripping exciting story i enjoyed it very much. this series has been terrific to read. Maggie has always had a crush on Gideon her best friends brother but never felt her saw her or paid her any attention. She hasn't been able to shake her feelings but she's moved on in life opening up her bakery which is her entire life. However, things are going weird, stuff is happening that shouldn't be and her best friend asks her brother Gideon to help. so Gideon who bakes in his off time to control his emotions that overwhelm him after missions as a ranger, steps in to become her assistant. He recognizes she's his mate that he's pushed away all these years but she doesn't know about shifters being human and he has to get to the bottom of what is going on with her bakery and who is out to get her.
This is a well written and highly detailed book with excitement, danger, resilience, determination and much more. Maggie refuses to give up or give in and lose her bakery despite what is happening the businesses around her. Gideon is trying to keep her safe and hide his true nature and his feelings yet is pushed by his wolf to protect her at all costs. He ends up staying in Maggie's apt which pushes them together even more and causes more and more feelings to rise to the surface and forces them to deal with them while the situation with the bakery escalates.
Together they can either rise to the challenge, meet fate head on and overcome whats happening or they can continue to fight each other and butt heads and lose everything precious to Maggie. u will have to read to see how things play out.
I received an arc copy from book sirens and this is my honest voluntary review.

A baker with trouble at her bakery, failing equipment, no show staff and faulty deliveries. It will take her medaling best friend to get her the help she needs in the form of a gorgeous Texas Ranger, who incidentally is a wolf shifter, and a best friend’s brother. While uncovering the source of the trouble at the bakery, Gideon will finally come to terms with his long held feelings for Maggie. While Maggie’s ever growing crush that began as a teenager finally gets the change to fully bloom.
There is a bit of mystery about why Maggie’s bakery has been targeted but is soon figured out, taking the combined forces of a couple other rangers along with them to try to turn the tides.

I enjoyed this paranormal tales where the character’s shifter ability isn’t at the center of the story but is an intricate side that adds to the introspection that swirls throughout the tale. “It’s about honoring what we’ve become together. Something wild. Something earned. Something permanent.”

There are alternating POV’s and a good deal of introspection on part of both of the main characters letting the reader draw a clearer picture of them. There is spicy romance and some side kicks with at least one getting his own tale in the next book. With descriptive language that draws pictures we can visualize what is happening. “The mist comes fast, rising like breath from the belly of the earth.”

Interested in a good paranormal romance with a touch of action and characters that make you smile , check this one out.

While this book had potential, it didn't blow me away. The plot was slow and repetitive in places; I thought Chase Warren’s character and his past relationship with Maggie could have been explained more. What I did enjoy was the relationship between Gideon and Maggie. Their chemistry was real and undeniable. I also liked the intrigue, danger, and plot twists throughout.

Maggie was strong and determined, but it was hard not to fall under pressure when everything around her had folded. Someone was trying to sabotage her bakery, Sea, Salt & Sugar. Maggie was on edge as her world started to unravel. Initially, Maggie did not appreciate Gideon’s calm presence, but his keen eyes soon identified those responsible for trying to ruin Maggie.

Gideon is a member of Team W, a unique group of men with special abilities who are all wolf shifters. They have no rules or one to answer to, just get the job done. Gideon does not believe in fated mates. They are a myth, or so he thought until he met Mggie, and she was a game changer. Kari, Gideon’s sister and Maggie’s best friend, pleaded with Gideon to help Maggie by working in her bakery. Gideon is an Alpha male, but was not over the top in any way.

I have to say the image of a tough, former marine wolf shifter up to his elbows in flour tickled my fancy. Maggie’s response to Gideon’s wolf was a pleasant surprise. Yes, she was shocked, but soon she was in awe. This book is worth a read.

4.25 stars for me - a shifter PNR with suspense

Ranger's Code was the first book I've read in the Lone Star Rangers series. I did not feel like I was missing anything, so it felt fine as a standalone, for me.

I like the collaboration between these authors. I've read a large number of books by Delta James and enjoy her style, but Ranger's Code felt different.. better.. in style and tone. Still Delta James but more and very enjoyable. Almost poetic in the awareness of the characters in their inner worlds, but authentic at the same time. The romance feels solid for this reason. More focus on the romance and a tad less emphasis on the shifter part of the storyline.

That said, the story also felt simplistic in it's focus on the two main characters. We only touch on other characters in so much as they affect the plot. This approach works well in shorter novels in this genre, both assisting the standalone nature and reducing extraneous elements to the story.

I really liked Ranger's Code. We grow to truly like Gideon and Maggie. I enjoyed the preface to the reconnect of the two main characters. Just enough backstory to set up what was to come. And the connection to baking [for each of them] was fascinating to chew on without being told what to think about it all.

I will happily read more of this series.

A captivating read, great characters and wonderful plot that kept me guessing to the end
I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this read and am sure that other thinking of reading this book will find it as entertaining. The main character Gideon has decided to try his hand at baking as a relief for his stress and this has caused a certain number of noses being put out of joint as his team are used to him baking for them and only them and now this is no longer the case.
Maggie is aware that something is happening but is not sure what is the best way to deal with it and Kari who is her best friend is one of those folks that has a knack for finding the solution before you even know what it was you were looking for.
Kari and Gideon have been hiding the fact that they are both wolf shifters and they have been doing this for a number of years, it seems now though that now the wolf is out of the bag it no longer wants to stay there and the way they are finding each other and themselves makes this a really great read.
I am not going to spoil the read for others but as usual there is someone that is trying too stop this beautiful friendship, so you will have to read this book yourself and find out the outcome.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.

This is book two in the series. I really wanted to like Gideon because I liked Zane. For some reason, he just never made it to like but was tolerable. Alpha? Nope. Maggie started off well but faded fast and became forgettable. Both main characters did.

I did like that the other rangers made an appearance but for as close knit as they were, Zane was mentioned but not Cassie. It felt like once mated then forgotten. The name for Maggie he had for her was perfect. I really hope his sister is sassy and strong in her book because the characters wimping or fading out is tiresome. The rangers had strong interplay between them and ribbed each other in the first book. This one the only time they said anything to each other was business. It felt like they no longer liked each other but simply tolerated each other. Gideon supposedly liked baking and did so for the rangers but never really helped much at the shop. Maggie needed help because her assistant quit but Gideon simply brooded & counted exits. There was a scene teased were they both were kneading bread but that was a dream. I don't know if the author tried to do a 180 in this story with the feedback regarding the last but (it pains me to say it) she failed miserably. We want strong willed fleshed out sassy characters. Gideon Bonham gets his story in this thrilling story with bakery owner, Maggie. He has been attracted to Maggie, who is his sister Kari’s best friend, for years, but has never acted on his feelings. What he doesn’t know is that Maggie has been attracted to him even before he joined the military. Kari is concerned that someone is tampering with the bakery, Sea Salt and Sugar. Gideon has been baking to relieve stress from his time in military. He and his three friends have established Company W, which was requested and approved by the Governor. When he realizes that someone is trying to sabotage her bakery, he asks her for a job. This allows him to protect Maggie while investigating who is targeting her and why? Discovering that an outside group has forced owners to sell or abandon their businesses, while Maggie seems to be the only holdout. She had no idea that he and his sister are wolf-shifters, but now he needs to find a way to tell her without scaring her. Maggie surprises him by accepting him as well as the love he declares for her. As they continue to battle various threats aimed at the bakery, will Maggie accept the changes ahead, for her, and a new life with Gideon? Great second book in this series! "Ranger’s Code," the second installment in Delta James's "Lone Star Wolf Rangers" series, is every bit as compelling as the first book.

Gideon, a wolf shifter and former Marine, is tasked by his sister to investigate the strange happenings at Maggie’s bakery. The chemistry between Gideon and Maggie is undeniable; their passionate encounters are just the tip of the iceberg. This story dives into the emotional depth of their connection, exploring the question of who is truly claiming whom. At one point, I found myself reaching for a tissue, and you might do the same.

Maggie is facing significant challenges as the owner of her bakery: employees are quitting without reason, and she can’t procure essential supplies. When Gideon, her best friend’s older brother, arrives to apply for a job, she reacts by tearing up his application. Despite her dismissal, he steps up to showcase his impressive baking skills. Gideon knows they are fated mates, but Maggie remains unaware of his true identity as a wolf shifter. He’s determined to resolve her bakery issues while claiming her heart in the process.

Gideon and Maggie are a captivating pair, making this book an exhilarating mix of romance, mystery, and suspense. I wholeheartedly recommend this engaging paranormal romance!

OFF THE GRID OFF THE BOOKS

Gideon and Maggie. Hes a wolf and part of a team that operates off the books for the Govenor. She owns a bakery. Sea Salt & Sugar. She enters her perfectly timed bakery that starts before she gets there and its all chaos and shes about to have a meltdown. Her emotional description is just as real as Gideons. Shes had too much bad luck. Sabatoge. So happens her best friends big brother is none other than Gideon a wolf shifter with a badge and he bakes.

OMG cant say enough about Delta James. The way she brings a story to life like you're there. Just in the prolouge of this book you are dragged into what Gideons feelings are and how hes handeling the rollercoaster of those emotions. Hes tiptoeing a fine line of balance and you feel it. How his missions pull the wolf to the surface to where he cant keep it at bay. What he does to keep it at bay and calm him. The description is so real, you can see it. The teams banter is spot on.

Wonderful story. An exciting intruging suspensful thriller of a romance.

DNF'ing at around 80%. It's a nothing sandwich in a very non-offensive way. There's a modicum of plot that's underwhelming. Same goes for the characters and their childhood friendness and werewolfness and westernness. Coming from "Love and Deepspace" really raised the bar for childhood best friends. Caleb I miss you- anyway, all the buzzwords in the title are unmilked for their potential and I can't even get mad because of how underwhelmingly boring it is.

What surprised me most is that usually I read a smutty romance and think "this author should only write smut and not even attempt plot". Here, I thought the author had potential for more artistic writing but not smut OR plot. Some of their descriptions and narrations are beautiful, but even those tend to be weighed down by a severe need for editing. They incline towards long convoluted sentences which are fine if one surrounds them with shorter sentences. Like, your writing should ebb and flow. Long sentence after long sentence after long sentence is not where it's at. I started skimming at around 60% because of this. The sentence structures and sentiments are very repetitive.

Maggie worked hard to own her successful bakery. Sea Salt & Sugar has been doing great until recently. Orders missing, brand new equipment failing, and an assistant who quit with no notice, just a note. The only person she has confided in is her best friend Kari, so when Gideon Bonham show up to apply for the assistant job, Maggie immediately knows that Kari sent him. Gideon watched Maggie grow up with his kid sister, so when Kari asks him to investigate Maggie's troubles he reluctantly agrees. What he did not expect was to realize that Maggie is his fated mate, and that her troubles are deliberate sabotage.
I loved these characters; they are compelling, and their personalities are very realistically portrayed. Maggie is strong willed, sarcastic, and unwilling to back down when threatened, while Gideon is a former marine with a heart of gold who is willing to take on any threat in order to protect the woman he loves. A little bit of suspense, with plenty of steam, and some interesting twists in the plot make this a must-read addition to this series.

Maggie Tate owned a bakery in Galveston, and has had a run of back luck lately, everything from new refrigerator breaking down to ovens not heating like set, wrong items delivered or not delivered on time or at all… and now her baking assistant quit by just leaving a note on back counter. She tells her best friend Kari, who called her brother Gideon. Gideon is a Texas Ranger, but belongs to Team W, and is part of team that is wolf shifter, and lives with other team members outside of San Antonio. He uses baking as therapy from bouts of PTSD from former Marine deployments and what he's seen as Ranger, liking the precision of baking. After getting call from his sister, goes to Galveston to check on Maggie who he's known since both teenagers, but now he sees a woman barely hanging on to her sanity with all problems at shop… he applies for open position, she tears up his application, but hires him after latest delivery fiasco… of course there is instant attraction since she crushed on him for years, but can he find out who is behind the attack and stop it??? I voluntarily read this book through an Advanced Reader Copy.

I gotta say, Delta has written one of the best dedication pages in this book. She’s a great writer, but in that page, you can feel how much she LOVES to write.

Favorite quote from Maggie: ‘Like he’s already decided where he belongs—and it’s here, with his hands in my batter and his mouth full of my blueberries.’

Favorite quote from Gideon: “I didn’t bite you because I had to. I did it because I couldn’t imagine a world where you weren’t mine.” *saWOON*

I love the Best Friend’s Brother trope. When they both secretly crushed on each other. I hate when the MC is a horn-dog with other girls even though he’s crushing through his teen years. Anyway. This book has the perfect relationship balance. Just enough angst. Tons of loyalty and protectiveness.

Who knew that a cupcake baker and Ranger wolf shifter book would be so enjoyable. I really enjoyed this story. Maggie and Gideon had a connection in the past, even though both chose to ignore it and each other. But once Maggie's bestie, Kari, finds out that something is going on with Maggie's business, she calls in her brother Gideon to help. Not only does Kari believe something nefarious is happening to Maggie's business, she also knows each is attracted to the other. So maybe will not hurt to kill two birds with one stone. It does not take long for Gideon to realize that something bigger than just Maggie's business, is happening in Galveston. As he moves to solve that mystery and protect Maggie, he realizes that he cannot avoid the fact that she is his fated mate… and things become personal for him. Soon, other members of Gideon's Ranger's team are on the case to stop whatever is happening to Maggie and her successful bakery. An Gideon will do everything in his power to protect his mate.

This is all I am going to say. Read the book. You will not be disappointed.

This was an engaging book that grabbed my attention from the start. The snark and banter between Gideon and Missy was both electric and funny (sometimes tounge-in-cheek). Of course with Delta you can expect pretty continuous action, of some sort or other (😉😉) and the romantic drama was quite the emotional rollercoaster for Missy as she struggled to maintain her "I don't depend on anyone" independence. While the story focused on the main characters, we did get appearances from the rest of Team W, though much too short for my liking (especially of Rush, hhhmmm).

I will admit, at the end I was thrown by the lack of credit Missy attributed to the "support" she received. Honestly, it sounded as if she didn't have any "help" at all. Really?!?! Okay then, Gideon did nothing. Let's go with that... right. (If you believe that - don't read this book!)

I was fortunate to receive a gift copy of this book abd voluntarily provided this review. Happy Reading Y'all.

Maggie runs a cake shop but all sorts of unusual things have started happening, orders aren't being delivered correctly, her freezer broken down, and it was new, her ovens are either really hot or cold. She's in contact with Kari, her best friend, and tells her what's going on, not really thinking that all the events are connected. Kari's brother, Gideon, was in the forces, now he's a Ranger with a team of brothers. He arrives to help Maggie and realises that she's his mate. He, Kari and his team are all wolf shifters.
He can tell that things are not good, he can smell another wolf has been around, with the help of his team they find out more of what is going on. Can they stand together and defeat whoever is causing Maggie problems? Will she realise what Gideon feels for her?

This story is Gideon and Maggie's story. I loved how they each liked each other from afar for many years. Maggie is Gideon's sister ,Kari' best friend .

I love how calm and controlled Gideon is, even under extreme stress he seems to calm the sea of emotions in Maggie. He doesn't need to raise his voice to get his point across.

I love how Maggie is so defiant, and determined. How she hides her frustration and anger behind a shield of determination and grit.

I liked the description of the transformation of Maggie. It is well explained

Loved the slow exposure of the mystery behind the vandalism and destruction.

Well written, action throughout. Steam to the eventual romance.

This is a standalone with of course the perfect HEA for Maggie and Gideon.

This is a very suspenseful but romantic story about a human bakery owner and a wolf shifter. When it starts to look like someone may be sabotaging Maggie’s bakery on the strand in Galveston, her BFF Keri asks her brother (Gideon) to investigate. Gideon is a gruff shifter and an ex-military, special agent with his own interest in baking. Maggie had a major teenage crush on Gideon, while he had always been drawn to his sister’s sunny friend. Gideon’s instincts are now telling him that the sabotage is escalating. These characters figure out their magical mate connection, as the danger to Maggie and her bakery grows. The book has adult steam, as well as intriguing world building. The author’s writing in this book is actually very poetic at times as Maggie and Gideon move towards their future. "A Fantastic Shifter Romance series"

Ranger's Code is the second book in the Long Star Wolf Rangers series by Delta James. This book is enticing, eerie, very poetic, and suspenseful. One of my favorite tropes is best friends brother because it always brings in way more emotion. The storyline is intense and succinct and the characters leap off the page. Gideon and Maggie have know each other for years and have hidden their attraction to the other. The world building is beautiful and slightly tragic as we see the affects of abuse and trauma graphically depicted in both of them. I love a man thst bakes or cooks especially one who does to maintain his mental health. The sass and snark from Maggie plays well against Gideon's stern nature although not his true nature. As they build towards the action packed ending their blending is beautiful to see. Cannot wait for the next book.

This is book 2 in James' Lone Star Wolf Rangers. A great addition to the series but can be read as a standalone. James' delivers a well written, paranormal western romance read that is sure to captivate with great characters a smooth flowing storyline and great sweet and steamy romance. This book just has it all. Our main characters are Gideon and Maggie. Gideon is wrangled by his sister to help her bestie Maggie who owns a bakery after some unexplained events happen that appear to try to get the bakery closed. Gideon is a wolf shifter and knows Maggie is his mate, but Maggie doesn't even know he's a shifter much less her mate, but the chemistry is there. A great read that I just couldn't seem to put down.

What do you do when you reach your limit with an abusive man? You run as far as you can. Maggie found herself in a very small town in Alaska where he locals keep to themselves and she keeps her head down baking and running her bakery cafe, that is until her equipment keeps being sabotaged and she receiving mysterious threatening notes.

In through her door walks Gideon, sent by his sister to figure out what’s happening with her best friend Maggie.

The fun starts from here, they gave history. His quiet, bossy and possessive. She’s no pushover, and want to do things her way.

I’m personally not a shifter fun, yet I really liked this story, there was much more to it.

Interesting characters, good story, easy read.

Happy Reading📖🌻

Maggie fled an abusive relationship and settled in Galveston and opened a successful bakery. She has been having quite a bit of problems with incorrect deliveries, her oven shut off, refrigerator not working and other “mysteries”. She tells her best friend who sends her wolf shifter brother Gideon, a Texas Ranger, to find out what is going on.

The sabotage continues, including Maggie being saved by Gideon when two men attack her. He is determined to solve who is after her and her business. It becomes a bit complicated when he realized that Maggie is his fated mate and she has no knowledge of the shifter world. There are parts of the story that are slow and overly descriptive. However, it was a terrific story. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Protection that leads to love. Awesome.

Kira, Maggie‘s best friend, and Gideon‘s younger sister sends Gideon to watch over Maggie. Something is off with the bakery and the deliveries, not getting what they ordered and not getting it on time convinces her that someone is out to get her or her bakery. Too many things are going wrong all at once. Gideon is an ex Ranger, gorgeously handsome, fearless, powerful, protective, sets his sites on Maggie. When the bad guys show up, they don’t have a chance against Gideon and his group of ex Rangers. He also has something up his sleeve to give them a better advantage. Maggie falls for him, hook, line and sinker. They are fated mates and it doesn’t scare Maggie at all. A great book. Detailed descriptions, by the author make you feel like you are watching it happen live. Can’t wait for the next book in the series.
