Babysitting his ex wife son Jason, has got to be a first, then he came to realize he enjoyed being with him. Returning home we were met with the new Harbor master Carrie, informing him his boat was stolen last night. She will look into it, and he says he will, she has no idea how busy this place will soon be, Jason tells him, they probably be working together to solve the case. New author, and I enjoyed his easy way of bring the setting and the Harbor life as well as the people to life, It was fast moving, and kept your interest. Will look for more by him.
I stopped reading in the second chapter. I couldn't get past the conversation between the main character and his ex-wife. The main character, Jeremy, certainly didn't show evidence of Godly character with the barbs he threw out. This might be a "clean" book, but I'm not so sure it is a Christian book-at least not one that uplifts.
I also didn't care to read a story told in the first person.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a fast paced story that included mystery, suspense, romance and loyalty. I read the book in 2 days. Jeremy is a police officer turned high school teacher, he gets involved in some mixed up stuff when his best friend is shot right in front of him. He tries to get to the bottom of why this happened and will stop at nothing to solve the mystery. The characters were likable and I found myself pulling for them throughout the entire book. The author did a great job with his descriptions of New England. I would definitely read another book by this author.
The author sent me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
