So this is the 8th Doctor travelling an uncharted universe as known from Gallifrey tales for children. This universe is unknown to the Doctor, his TARDIS and his great-grandson who in the real world, where currently a Time-war rages, has died. And now they are chasing Cassie into this uncharted world.
The only girl in the world- The Doctor and Alex get caught up in the vortex by the wake of a Slaveship. There they find an alternate Cassie who consider its her destiny to kill the captain of the vessel that destroyed her world. An interesting take upon creatures like Daleks.
False dawn- There is a universe.wide quarantine order that does turn everyting inside out including a TARDIS.
The Council of Susan- On the edge of a great Barrier lies a wormhole guarded by a spacestation which is home to a cult/religion based upon the life of Susan Foreman. Which is a big draw for the Doctor & Alex, the latter whose existance is being denier by this religion/cult. And as for the Doctor he is considered as god and an enemy.
All over- So the three arrive at the end of the world where an old aquintance is waiting for them. This temporal diplomat Hironoma Friend is played by an actress who played in the only tv movie of the 8th Doctor. Daphne Ashbrook is hard to remember but certainly a major pull for this release. And very timely with the 30th anniversary of the TV movie with her and the 8th Doctor. The story is not finished so you know that there will be a next installment.
This collection of stories take place during the time-war where the Doctor has landed himself into a plantbased universe called the Uncharted. A universe that is not supposed to exist but does and does havoc with the regular timeline. Some of these stories are totally chaos they absolutely make sense with the 8th Doctor as captaining you through the madness. Have yet to listen to the previous 2 releases but found that I could easily enjoy this boxset with audiobooks.
