Asimov used Paul French, the pen name, for the Lucky Starr, series of juvenile novels.
Most books of Asimov in a historical way go as far back to a time with possible question or concept at its simplest stage. He often provides and mentions well nationalities, birth, and death dates for persons and etymologies and pronunciation guides for technical terms. Guide to Science, the tripartite set Understanding Physics, and Chronology of Science and Discovery exemplify these books.
Asimov, a long-time member, reluctantly served as vice president of Mensa international and described some members of that organization as "brain-proud and aggressive about their IQs." He took more pleasure as president of the humanist association. The asteroid 5020 Asimov, the magazine Asimov's Science Fiction, an elementary school in Brooklyn in New York, and two different awards honor his name.

Що, якби довелося вибирати між безпекою і стабільністю та свободою людства творити своє майбутнє, хай би що не трапилось?
Після цієї книги все більше переконуюся — як багато любові у фантастиці. І це приклад ще однієї історії з чітко вираженою романтичною лінією.
Любовні стосунки тут — не просто сюжетна деталь, а рушійна сила змін. Вони і є тим, через що устрій цього світу пішов шкереберть.
Як на мене, ставлення головного героя до коханої та його ніжна прив’язаність — місцями сильно перебільшені.

Невже це правда, що заради жінки чоловік здатен не просто порушити свої службові обов’язки, а ще й поставити під загрозу весь порядок світу, в якому живе?
Чи, може, це я щось не так сприйняла і це в мене був романтичний настрій?

Це роман про людей, які бояться майбутнього й тому не дають йому статися. Що це любов до свободи та того, що робить нас вільними.
А мені імпонує грандіозність та масштаб ідеї: контроль над плином історії людства, коригування її, щоб уникнути війн, катастроф, економічних криз. Що це як не утопія? Впевненість у завтрашньому дні!
Напевно, я не стала б обмінювати життя контрольованого порядку на свободу для хаосу.

Поки прочитала тільки Кінець вічності

Філософська наукова фантастика про подорожі в часі з наскрізною любовною лінією. Не надто прописані персонажі, бо тут важливіші ідея і самі події. На початку було трошки важко з світоустроєм і всіма новими словами, але я швидко звикла. Десь на половині я відчула надзвичайну спорідненість цього твору з «1984» і весь день про це думала, але коли змогла дістатися до книжки, подальший розвиток подій мене абсолютно вразив. Загалом в деяких моментах було трохи нудно, іноді я не могла відірватися від тексту, так хотіла дізнатися, що ж буде далі, але кінцівка 🔥
