I never wanted to take my clothes off for money, offering my body for strangers to lust after in exchange for putting food on the table is not my idea of a prosperous life. But we do what we have to do, especially now that I have to take care of my sister as well as myself.
Life isn’t supposed to be this hard.
Matt gives me hope. Hope that I can find some excitement in this dreary life, that I have found someone that can love me for who I am, not just what my body can do. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that he’s very attractive, and one of the most wonderful people that I have ever met.
I think that there might be potential here, IF I can only keep him from finding out what I do for the jackals in the pit at the club...
Note: Not suitable for readers below 18 due to mature content. This is Part 1 of a 3 part series.
Argh I hate it when I give up on a book, it makes me feel like I've been defeated. But at the same time I just couldn't carry on with this. What makes it even worse is that this is only a novella, maybe I'll try it again when I'm in a more forgiving mood.
What this does need is a good edit. It would go from one day to the next without a pause. At least leave a gap in the paragraphs.
On top of that when she met the H he was wearing sandals. I cannot deal with men wearing sandals. It's not sexy. It's wrong! No no no. That really put me off and I kept picturing monster feet. So I gave up.
I am surprised that this short free novella was actually quite good! There are so many books out with the same title (I think this is the third "Stripped" I have read) and they all seem to have the same thing going...girl is left alone and forced to strip to make a living. In this case, a young woman who has lost her parents and is left to care for her little sister takes the job to pay the bills. She meets some men who become a big part of her life...her neighbor, an older man who has a crush on her and her sister's teacher, who she is attracted to. What happens next is surprising and we are left with a big cliffhanger twist of an ending. (It is not made clear in the synopsis that this is only part 1 of a series and you will be left hanging) A good start and it left me curious to find out what happens next.
**** 4 **** " girl's gotta do what she needs to survive" stars
I really like this one a lot. I hope she stays with Matt. Not gonna lie Gary seems cool but he's a little creepy for wanting to be with her if she's still that young and him being old enough to be her dad. At least she is taking the initiative to take care of her sister even if she has to strip for a living. Yes, it can be dangerous. Just hope Matt rescues her from that life so she doesn't have to do it forever and can have a better home. Getting better things for her sister other then an unpredictable next meal.
The only thing interesting about the book was the ending, that about did it for me. During the book it felt like if the author had just written a sentence or two more the story would have been tied together much better and made more sense. There were really moments where I felt like information was missing and the story felt rushed.
