She's a city slicker from Los Angeles. I'm a cowboy from Texas. She definitely wants me, she just doesn't know it yet.
She walked straight out of my dreams and into this tiny town. I swept her off her feet on the dance floor. She gave me the best kiss I’ve ever had.
It was all going so well … until it wasn’t. Like a real life Cinderella, she ran off without giving me her number. Well, she refused to give it to me, but still.
Dumbfounded, I assumed I’d never see her again. Until she walked right into our barn the next morning.
Turns out, she’s the wedding planner for my brother’s upcoming nuptials. And I’m the best man. Which means we’ll be seeing a whole lot more of each other.
Surely, I can win over her heart. Ladies love country boys, right?
Accidentally My Cowboy is a sweet, small-town, opposites attract romantic comedy with plenty of sizzle while keeping the bedroom door closed. It's the second standalone love story in the Brothers of Lucky Seven Ranch Series.

3.5⭐ 🥂🤠There's a difference between grumpy workholic and snooty judgmental characteristics. 🥂🤠Hunter's playing hard to get game is hilarious. That poor guy really doesn't want to do it🤣 🥂🤠Man I'm feeling really sorry for this miscommunication. It's so embarrassing to show up where you're not really invited, but it's not Layla's fault either so.... 🥂🤠Hunter's family is billionaire. How does he not know how rich and snobby people act? 🥂🤠Layla has emotional baggage. The writer should have made her open up and discuss those. And honestly Hunter comes out too strong. I like it but it was too much for Layla at that time. 🥂🤠Overall I loved this book. It's cute. Hunter is amazing. Could relate to Layla. I laughed and cried.

This one was a delight! I really enjoyed Hunter and Layla's story. It was real and vulnerable but also so fun, flirty, and hilarious.
Loved Layla's black cat vibes, they totally matched with Hunter's sunshiny, flirty vibes in the best way. Hunter was hilarious and flirty and Layla was hard working and cynical at first. I could tell her tough exterior started cracking. Her character growth was great to watch no matter how hard she tried to hold on to her defenses. Hunter tore them down with his patience and steadfast support. They chemistry they had was so good. And I really enjoyed the flow and pace of this one and how relatable their character growth was.
The second hand embarrassment is real in this one LOL! Kristine W Joy wrote that so well! And I loved how she developed her characters and the world of Lucky Seven Ranch for this series. I have been loving reading the brother's stories and I can't wait to read more.
I absolutely loved every minute of this book! Hunter is just the quirkiest and sweetest guy ever! I love the chemistry he had with Layla and how he falls first.
I loved seeing Hunter go out of his comfort zone to do whatever he could to support Layla. And that Layla finally got a chance at what true love really is.
This book just made me smile and happy. I wouldn't change a thing!
Physical intimacy Lvl 3: More descriptive making out with mention of tongue Zero Swearing Dual POV He Falls First Opposites Attract Found Family
this was a really cute, fast-paced romance! Hunter and Layla are from opposite worlds: he's a small-town rancher/cowboy and she's a big-city event planner from LA, but when they meet it's a fun, romantic whirlwind. Somehow, despite all their differences, they fall in love. Hunter was a teensy bit pushy and Layla seemed really reticent for my taste but I liked their happy ending. Thank you to the author for my ARC; all opinions are mine.
I am in my cowboy romance era! This was such a charming closed-door romance full of so much sass, swoony kisses, and hunky cowboys. I loved the opposites attract and the instant-connection worked SO well. I will definitely read more from Kristine Joy.
3 stars:At first the book really pulled me in, but it got a little boring and very predictable. I think there are a lot of people that might like this style a lot more than me. Overall not a bad book just not my cup of tea:)
– this is part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone
– this is told from Layla & Hunter’s points of view
Review:
I really wanted Hunter’s story by the end of the last book (okay, so it was really not long after having met him, but still…) so I am so glad that his was next! I loved how Layla and Hunter met and how their romance grew! I loved that Hunter was teased and at the same time supported in his love for Layla, even though she was supposed to be there as just the wedding planner. I loved getting to see more of Sawyer supporting and helping his brothers out when they were out of their depth (both in this book and the first one). I loved that Layla was so real in her fears and wants clouding her decision making when she had her time crunched down unexpectedly. Some of my favorite scenes/moments included: their ‘dates’, Hunter’s version of hard to get (bathing the horse), the surprise get together, leaving the high class party for a more relaxed evening together, getting a tux, and riding together on a horse.
Summary:
Layla is ready to be one step closer to a promotion that could catapult her career. But when her ex gets inside her head with a simple text, Layla finds herself doing something that she’d normally have never done and could make all her hard work dissipate as if she’d done none of it – she kisses the flirty cowboy. But this cowboy isn’t just some guy that Layla will never see again -nope- because that’s just not how small towns work. Layla may have left that cowboy alone at the bar she met him in, but the next day makes it quite clear that she didn’t leave their encounter unscathed. Because that cowboy she kissed is none other that her client’s soon to be brother-in-law and someone she can’t just avoid. With Hunter being the best man, they both need to work together to make the bride & groom’s dream wedding come true. And with feelings for Hunter that could jeopardize her career coming to the surface, Layla has to do everything she can to push it down and get through these preparations with no attachments. But Hunter isn’t making it easy…
Hunter isn’t sure what to make of the city girl he’s just met, but she certainly acts different from the other girls who have caught his interest in the past. After their unbelievable kiss, Hunter thought that she would at least want to exchange phone numbers but she is drastically cold towards him by the end of the night. When Hunter officially meets Layla the next day as his soon to be sister-in-law’s wedding planner, he takes it as a second chance to really get to know the city girl. But with her hot and cold emotions towards his advances continue to confuse him despite the chemistry he knows is there between them, Hunter has to take a different approach to wooing this woman. He’ll just have to play hard to get…which is the total opposite of what kind of person he is. But he’s got a plan to make this work in his favor…
The Life She Didn’t Know She Wanted - Layla had resigned herself to concentrating solely on her job, as she just wanted to get the promotion promised to her, so the last thing on her mind was falling in love. Hunter’s life was all about the ranch and his family, so the last thing he was thinking about was getting involved with a city girl. However, the air around them when they met was truly electric and it shook both of them to the core.
They both tried to keep their relationship platonic, but spending time together only increased their attraction for each other and the kiss between them, only made it difficult for them. Unfortunately, the distance between them made any potential relationship difficult, as Layla’s lived and worked in different state. In addition , they tried to pursue a long distance relationship, but Layla found it was too difficult for her.
However, Hunter was still willing to compromise and just as he was about to declare his feelings for Layla, she received the news she had been waiting for and this put a kibosh on their budding relationship. Fortunately, Layla realised before it was too late that she actually couldn’t live without Hunter and decided to embark on a relationship with him. In addition, she discovered her decision not only changed her life for the better, but it also changed the lives of both hers and Hunter’s best friends.
This was a heartwarming story, with a few emotional moments woven in, that caught me off guard. The storyline was amazing and the characters were engaging, which had me glued to the pages and unable to take a break until I reached the end. Reading this book was one heck of a ride and I am really happy to recommend it.

This is the second book in Joy’s sweet Texas Cowboy Series “Brothers of Lucky Seven Ranch” and each book is better than the last. This stand-alone book builds off Book One: Off Limits Cowboy, but can easily be read as an entry into the series since everything you need to know is here. But, if you’ve already read book one, you’ll be happy to know that all your favorite characters have returned and the ranch is still the best backdrop for this great family’s story. Big city wedding planner Layla comes into town determined to focus only on the wedding before her, while Hunter is living to keep everything running smoothly with his family and ranch. But, when these two meet, you can immediately feel the tension and heat just happen. Although they both try their hardest to ignore their feelings, all the time that they must spend together on the ranch and planning the wedding just keeps building their attraction to each other. All it takes is just that one kiss and both literally have to stop, breathe, and re-evaluate their lives and the goals they thought were so important to them.
As always, with any of Joy’s books, you can count on great characters that are well developed and have sibling relationships with all the banter, teasing, joking, and loving that makes families, while frustrating, so wonderful. With each book this marvelous family grows by one, but the world and the series grows exponentially. The story line and the characters will have you reading long into the night because you just don’t want to leave their world. I can’t wait for the next book to continue visiting the Lucky Seven Ranch!.

I will say right off the bat that this is a stand-alone book but it’s so much better if you do read it after the other one. That way you get to see the characters that you already fell in love with plus Kristine does an incredibly good job of setting up the next book in the series. I think Hunter is my favorite Lewis brother. He is so funny and doesn’t really care what other people think. I loved how he was so straightforward with Layla and the fact that he was attracted to her and wanted to get to know her better. Then later he was so confident in laying everything out that he was feeling for her. Layla on the other hand does not believe in true love at all. She doesn’t think that you should have to change anything to be with someone or that you will really stay with that person forever. Hunter was the perfect person to show Layla what love really was and that you can overcome anything to get your happily ever after. I loved reading this book. It had very funny parts, some more serious parts but nothing too serious, it was kept nice and light, just what I was looking for. This is a closed door romcom, so you get only kisses. And boy do those kisses start early on in this book which can be a nice change of pace from a lot of other books that take a slow burn approach.
This is book #2 in the Brothers of Lucky Seven Ranch Series...and it was just as good as book #1. This can be read as a stand-alone, but you will get some spoilers by not enjoying book #1 first. Hunter is the youngest Lewis brother also known as the fun brother. He lives, eats, and breaths ranch life. To say he's looking for a partner would be the farthest thing from the truth. But all that changes when he happens upon a woman at the local bar, and they share a kiss that will leave both their lives forever changed. Layla is career focused. She has been working hard towards her promotion, she even ended her latest relationship by choosing her job over her ex so to say she's looking for love would also be the farthest thing from her mind. Fate though has other plans for these two and Kristine does a great job of building up the push and pull of will they or won't they give into their desires for each other. This is a perfect closed door (only kissing), dual POV, he falls first, career focused, accidentally text romance read that will bring you back to Roberta Texas and the Lewis ranch. Thank you, Kristine, for my free eBook. It was not expected for me to leave any positive feedback, these opinions are 100% my own.
What I read: Accidentally My Cowboy by Kristine W. Joy
Why I picked it up: Another author recommended it in her newsletter so I decided to read book #1 followed by book #2.
How I read it: On Kindle Unlimited.
What it’s about: She’s here to plan the wedding not fall in love – but a local cowboy finds her irresistible at the local bar the night before her work begins. Then the next day she realizes he’s the brother of the groom. It’s a tale of figuring out what’s more important: love or work.
What I liked: I appreciated going back to these characters that I loved in the first book – it was fun to be around them again. There are two more brothers, will they get their own stories?
What I disliked: I get the pull of giving up your entire life for a man, moving across the country, and not knowing if it’s going to be worth it – but her job was objectively terrible and her boss was just the worst!! I appreciated how her choice ended up in the end.
Genre: Small town, second chance, work, closed door.
Rating & Recommendation: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and sure, best as part of the series though.
My oh my! This cowboy!🔥 He was such a sweetheart😍. Hunter came off a little bit intense & too direct at first... but he actually knew what he wanted & went for it.
Their chemistry was off the charts. The horse washing scene🔥🔥🔥 wow! He was just so cute, I couldn't with all the different ways he was making an effort to sweep her off her feet.
It took me some time to warm up to Layla. At first I just wasn't into the way she pushed him away...but you get to fully understand why she was like that later in the story😅. But what I did like from Layla was how independent, strong & super capable she was.
The final bits had me at the edge of my seat. The book was ending & I needed to now what was going on! They needed to be together🥺 I'm really glad with how it turned out! Hunter was always super funny & goofy💞.
All the small gestures were so cute💞. I'm super excited for what's coming next!! This series is so good!
🐎 * I was kindly gifted an ARC from the author. This doesn't influence in any form my review/opinion of the book*
This is good book and entertaining enough. It’s an opposites-attract cowboy rom-com. I actually really liked the cowboy/ranch side of it, Hunter’s a great character and made for a charming and quirky MMC. The book just lacked… something. It was too focused on the physical aspect of the relationship, I guess, lacking in depth. The kissing was a little too frequent and descriptive for my taste, and if I had to hear one more internal comment about how “hot” the other person was… It also didn’t help that the true relationship development (the 3 months of FaceTiming) was glossed over.
I don’t know. The book was entertaining and the audiobook narration was also great… but I don’t think I’ll continue with any more books in the series.
Content: The word “pissed” was used once, but otherwise the language was clean. There was no sex or violence. There was ogling and minor innuendos. Though the romance stopped at kissing, it was quite descriptive and too heated for my taste. There is no mention of faith or God.
From instant attraction with a stranger to finding out who that stranger is, this book is funny, sweet, and a terrific love story. Layla is west coast, stiletto wearing, horse adverse, and a wicked good wedding planner. Hunter is good looking, rarely serious, outstanding cowboy confirmed bachelor who falls fast and hard for a pretty girl in a bar. Imagine the delight and shock these two have when she meets with the bride and groom the next morning---oh and the best man stops by on his horse...Hunter. In a determined and often hilarious way, Hunter sets about to win Layla over.
What a fun book as preparations for the wedding and Hunter's relentless pursuit of Layla progresses. Great characters, vivid descriptions, and a funny mistake make this a book I read as fast as possible, and then even re-read a few spots. Big secret that I have to reveal??? (Don't worry it's personal, not about the book...) I don't usually like cowboy romance stories! BUT I LOVED IT!
This book will definitely have to be added to my bookshelf! First, I loved seeing all my favorites from book one, especially little miss Ava! You can read this as a stand-alone but I highly recommend reading Off-Limits Cowboy!
Hunter is such a gem who isn't only Hot but incredibly sweet as well! He had me cracking up from the start. Him telling the story of Cinderella to Wyatt was hilarious! Layla is a career driven, independent woman who is working for a promotion and doesn't want to get caught in romance after her past relationship.
Though this book is super fun are leading characters have deep issues and insecurities they have to overcome. The tension and chemistry in this book was written so well! I fell fast for Hunter and Layla is trying to resist but there's just something special about him. Will she find a home in him? You have to read to find out!
I received an ARC copy from the author. All thoughts in this review are my own.
Layla is the wedding planner for Emma & Carson’s wedding. On her first night in town she heads to the local honky tonk and ends up kissing a very handsome cowboy. Imagine her surprise when that same cowboy- Hunter- ends up being the brother of the groom for the wedding she planning.
Hunter is incredible! The energy he gives off is fun & flirtatious. He exudes charm and confidence, and frankly I’m not sure how Layla was ever able to say no to him because I sure couldn’t resist him.
Layla made him work so hard for her affection and attention. She was sharp and funny and sweet; a perfect balance to Hunter’s goofy side, yet she had her own silly side too.
And oh my-lanta was this one swoony. Like over-the-too, give you butterflies, make you squeal swoony.
This book is clean and closed door- free of swearing and explicit sexual content.
Thank you to the author for my gifted copies, all opinions are my own.
Accidentally My Cowboy is a lighthearted, fun, adorable, romantic, witty, and delightful book! This is the second book in the Brothers Of The Lucky Seven Ranch Series which can all be read as standalones. All of the male characters in this series are phenomenal, but Hunter is an absolute hoot! He is willing to do anything and everything to have a shot with his dream girl from flying thousands of miles on a whim to rolling in the dirt with his horse just so he can wash it shirtless. This book doesn't go beyond kissing so it is appropriate for teen readers, but is still full of so much chemistry and fun. Layla is a strong woman who has built a successful career. She tends to be serious, but she has a secret fiery and fun side I loved. This book was a quick and easy read. It brought me so much joy and was exactly the kind of lighthearted fun I needed this week!
This was a cute fun read. It's also a clean romance. And it's definitely chicklit. If I had to label it. That's the first word that came to mind.
Look, the writing didn't super catch me at some parts. I didn't feel all that much thick chemistry between Layla and Hunter, but I do think they are cute together. I also didn't feel some of the dialogue (and yet there are a few fun conversations.) But for all that is holy, when Hunter pulled that wash-the-horse scene I cracked it so hard. Laughed so badly. It was corny, but the way it was written made it a super cute super hilarious scene. So I read that for laughs.
This one is a light one. It doesn't make the heart ache and bleed with yearning and need to finish it off. But it does give healing vibes for the light mood. So maybe I'll finish the other books of this series when I am in the mood for something light.
Blurb: Accidentally My Cowboy, is a sweet, small-town, opposites attract romantic comedy with plenty of sizzle while keeping the bedroom door closed. It's the second standalone love story in the Brothers of Lucky Seven Ranch Series.
Accidentally My Cowboy is a fantastic new addition to this new series from Kristine, here we follow Hunter Lewis and Layla, the wedding planner from L.A. for his brother Carlson's wedding to Emma. I fell in love with these new characters from the very first page, this book is written beautifully with strong characters that pull you in. There are some LOl moments in this story too. A terrific book and looking forward to the next in the series.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
okay, so. after reading the first in this series, i’ve realized that these are super cute and have the most amount of potential, but they fall flat. i think it’s because you don’t really experience the characters pining for each other, or actively falling in love with each other. you see their chemistry build up, almost like it’s supposed to be a slow burn, but then everything is so rushed. i will admit, i think i like the writing better in this one. but idk exactly what it is that i’m not really loving or impressed by with these books. overall, i think it was cute, but it’s not one that i love. there where some cute moments where i was giggling, but i think there’s many improvements that could be made.
My Accidental Cowboy is a fun, fluffy romance that feels very much like a Hallmark movie in book form. It’s light, cozy, and easy to read—perfect if you’re in the mood for small-town charm, a swoony cowboy, and low-stakes drama.
That said, the story leaned a little too far into cheesy territory for me. Some moments and dialogue felt predictable, and the romance developed in a way that didn’t leave many surprises. While it was enjoyable, it didn’t quite have the depth or originality to push it beyond a solid three stars. The characters didn't have anything in common and there was very little emotional development.
Overall, this is a cute, feel-good read for fans of sweet cowboy romances and Hallmark-style love story.
Well what can I say opposites definitely go together in this super book. Hunter is the joker and all out fun cowboy of his family were as Layla is the ultimate workaholic who doesn't want to put fun or a relationship before anything else. Slowly throughout the story you realise that her family is a lot to blame for her actions, she's always been the one to compromise for everyone else nobody puts her first. Only to realise when it finally comes to it sometimes love is worth the compromise. I was lucky to get this book as an ARC copy and this is my point of view on the book. I would honestly say I couldn't stop reading so recommend it whole heartily
I liked, but didn’t love this and I’m positive it’s a “me” issue rather than the book itself. I’m finding a pattern with a lot of the rom coms I’m reading and that’s that the author is excellent at writing the chemistry between the two characters, but the surrounding storyline isn’t holding my attention. For me, the surrounding storyline that happens when the characters are getting to know each other is even more important than the kissing/intimate scenes. The wedding planner storyline just wasn’t super exciting IMO, but the characters had great chemistry and I can see why rom com lovers would enjoy this one! It just wasn’t a favorite for me.
This has been a great series that I think you should read in order. Each book keeps getting better and better!
These opposites trying to figure out if the chemistry to survive a thousand miles has been fire. Got funny romcom lines but also some good truth bombs like that it’s good to get out of our comfort zone sometimes!
Content: Style - Dual POV, contemporary country romance (one horse, found family, opposites attract ) Intimacy - Moderately High (moans and tongue mentioned makeouts) Language - None Violence - None Potential Triggers - Bad exes, Toxic work environment, Neglectful childhood
Layla comes to Texas to plan Hunter's brother's wedding. They meet her first night in town at the local bar where they heat up the dance floor. When she meets him the next day, she pretends not to know him. He's confused but intrigued. Layla does not trust in love, but she's intrigued also. Can they get past Layla's mistrust?
I enjoyed this story. Hunter was a hoot! I loved when he decided to wash his horse while the women were in the barn planning the wedding. Layla liked it also. Hunter was never very subtle in his attraction, but he does get to know Layla while letting her get to know him. Her boss is a jerk. I'm glad she finally woke up about her.
I liked Hunter's brothers and friends. They helped make the book even more fun. They are an intriguing group. I cannot wait to read their stories.
Compared to the first book I felt this book was more rounded and I felt I was able to get more of a conclusion other than not knowing the next steps after the engagement at the end. However I felt that the story was enjoyable snd also relatable since a lot of people go through situations like this. Also enjoyed that we got more information about what Layla was doing after moving to Texas. Though I was sad that Carson, even though he’s not an official family member, had his story so briefly included, would’ve been nice to have a book dedicated to him
Book 2 of the series, goofy but cute long distance romance. Clean series. She’s an LA wedding planner, he’s the youngest brother of the groom to be. He sees her and falls in love instantly. She pushes him away because she doesn’t believe in love at first sight or soul mates. He puts it all on the line, forcing her out of her comfort zone and she ends up realizing that real love does exist and she is worthy of it. Overall, I like this story the best of the 3 I’ve read so far-onto book 3 for Bailey and Sawyers awkward love story.

Definite a Small Town RomCom. Absolutely adorable and a huge definite on small town romcom. It is an endearing and sweet story about taking a chance at love and it gives all the feels. Especially when it involves the wedding planner and the youngest Lewis brother, Layla doesn’t have a chance with this heartthrob cowboy Hunter. Reading their story is Hallmark worthy and brings out the cuddles.

I knew this was going to be a fun read when you take a California girl from LA and cross her path with a Good Ole Boy from Texas, let the sparks fly!! Reading how Layla and Hunter meet it great, you can just picture the scene as you read it and can’t help but laugh at Hunter’s self confidence. Loved the ending and can’t wait to read more of this series!.
