I can count on one hand the number of erotic books I have ever read.
The experience I've had were usually the same. There is little thought to plot, story line or characters but emphasized the sex, graphically and sometimes at length (which is ok if the story is good also). There have been multiple instances where the author even forgets the gender of the character.
The writing could only be described as poor. A good case of this is the wildly popular series Fifty Shades of Grey. I have never read any of those books but my wife did and the main thing she took away from it was how poorly the writing was for something that was so talked about and main stream.
Given all this, I did not know what to expect with this book. I was pleasantly surprised by this book. The characters were well written with a solid story line. It revolves around a younger women who is attracted to older men. The story centers on two men in particular who while polar opposites in profession and economic success but both have the ability to push all the right buttons, buttons that Vanessa didn't even know she liked pushed.
The sex is tastefully written without the normal explicit description that you see in some books in this genre without any loss of the "hotness" factor.
If you're a fan of this genre then this will be a good book for you to enjoy. If you're looking for a book to share as a book club read with your wife or significant other than you won't be disappointed.
The author is a talented writer and one to watch for in the future.
Three cheers for Laurie Vincent’s erotic tale Sinfully Good, an exciting, sexy romp of a tale about Vanessa Grimes, and her quest for the perfect, older boyfriend. When we first meet Vanessa, she’s living off the good will of a whiney sister, Deb, recently been dumped by her boyfriend of many years. Vanessa’s part time employment in a coffee barista leaves much to be desired, and one she’d rather leave in the dust, but she needs the job to help Deb with their shared expenses, until something better comes along. After a tough day at the barista and an even rougher early eve with her complaining sister, Vanessa escapes to a sports bar and gets all flirty-cozy with the recently divorced Frank Baumgarten. Initially, Frank tries not to succumb to the sexy Vanessa’s efforts to seduce him, but he soon gives over and shows the soon-to-be satiated young woman exactly what it’s like to be made love to, and dominated, by an older Alpha male. Frank’s fiery passions leave Vanessa panting for more, and although he holds back nothing during their sexual escapades, she can’t help but wonder if her lover is hiding other emotions, or a darker side of his personality. She suspects he harbors secrets, and although she tries to draw them out of her man, Frank remains annoyingly hush-hush regarding her subtle queries. Vanessa’s also caught the eye of Josh Richter, the owner of the barista where she. Although she’s committed to Frank and reluctant to forge beyond the employer/employee relationship, sexually curious, she can’t help but wonder how thrilling it could be to have him in her bed. Plus there’s that annoying blonde, leaving Vanessa to wonder about Josh and his mysteries. The sex scenes in Sinfully Good are amazingly hot and I thoroughly appreciated Ms. Vincent’s clever, sophisticated, writing style – she weaves her sexual passages without being overly explicit or crass. I also valued the backstory - the elusive hints regarding Frank Baumgartner’s hidden agenda’s. And wow! I really didn’t see that ending coming – yes, pun intended. If you enjoy an erotic story complete with a definitive, promising premise to back up those steamy scenes, then Sinfully Good is the book you should read next!
Fantastically Refreshing This may be the best erotic book I have ever read. If it is not, I cannot remember what other book was. This book actually has a plot. The book does not jump from hump to hump the way many erotic books do. It abounds with smoking hot erotic scenes and a back-story that is not a weak mechanism between sexual encounters. Vanessa is a strong female protagonist, as well as a horny, little vixen. The book provides lengthy insight into Vanessa’s thoughts, emotions, and actions as the tale unfolds. As much as I enjoyed the erotic bits, I found myself deeply invested in the rest of the story. Vanessa’s sister, her friends, and the other characters that cross her path are well developed. These other characters, add another facet to the book without becoming part of the erotic play. If you muted every erotic scene to say, (we made love again before we went to bed) it would still be an excellent book. I am grateful that they were not! Another thing I truly enjoyed: it is a full-length book, not a thirty-five page dinger. I found it refreshing to read a book that is erotic, has a dose of mystery, humor, and just a smidge dramatic at points. If you are an old fart like me, and male, you will love this book. If you are female, Vanessa’s strong will and playfulness will capture you. I ardently recommend this book to anyone, male or female, over the age of eighteen.
Love everything this book! It was so unlike any other books out right now. Definitely love the older guy thing but it was unpredictable and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Must read for sure!
