Rhodes To Love

If all Karima Henderson had to worry about was barrel racing and loving her family, she would have the perfect life. Unfortunately, she knows that isn’t the case. While she loves her life and family, things tend to get emotionally taxing at times. Allowing herself to be used by God also weighs on her, but she wouldn’t have it any other way. Helping people is something she has a passion for. That passion propels her to move to Nashville to accept a position where she feels she can fulfill her potential while also fulfilling her calling by obtaining a family counseling degree. However, after reconnecting with an old friend, things get heated in more ways than one, and she abandons her plans and moves back home to be surrounded by family and people that love her.

Rhodes Woods’s life’s course has caused him to endure heartache. Due to no fault of his own, he is forced to abandon the life he knows in Oakland, California and move to a rural area of Southeast Texas, known as Cheek, as a teenager. Adapting to a new way of life is difficult for him, but it becomes less strenuous the moment he meets Karima Henderson. He falls in love with everything about her, despite her placing him in the friend zone. His whole purpose in life is to convince her she should be his. Years go by after a hiatus between them, and when they are reconnected, they seem to just pick up where they left off. He knows he can’t let her get away from him again, so he throws caution to the wind and suddenly moves to Nashville to prove to her that she’s his everything.

Karima and Rhodes have their entire lives ahead of them and seem to be getting along well, but somehow, desperation and fear rear their ugly heads, and they cause Rhodes to act irrationally. Not knowing how to handle what becomes of those actions, causes Karima to retreat. Hurt and anger fuel her decisions, and the familiar sting of heartache hardens her. Can Rhodes make things right with Karima or has he lost her once and for all?

Starting with poetry, writing has always been a constant in Monica's life. The interest began in her teenage years, being in love for the first time. Her love for writing has only progressed. Song lyrics and poetry led to short stories, then one day in her down time, a short story became a 56k word novel. It has been non-stop since then. Being a wife and mother, has only added to the joys of Monica's life. Attaining a BS in Sociology, helping her better understand people and their behaviors, has only helped her become a better writer, understanding characters and their complex personalities. Romance of all types has been her passion, and she plans to continue honing her skills in that genre.

DNF This Ain’t It

I usually enjoy this series and Monica’s writing, but after the whole “maybe-cousins” fiasco in the last book and this storyline? I’m officially clocking out.

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room: the MMC stealths the FMC intentionally gets her pregnant so he can be tied to her forever. He apologizes, sure, but the way it’s handled feels way too casual for what is essentially a violation. That alone made it hard to keep going.

Then there’s the FMC, who keeps reflecting on her past heartbreaks and how God “whispers” to her… but apparently He forgot to mention that Rhodes is a walking red flag? She’s conflicted after sleeping with him the first time but does it anyway, over and over. And he only gets exposed because she finds a stash of over 10 unused condoms while cleaning like, sir what is this?

Everything about him gave me the ick. He’s hyper-sexualized to the point of being off-putting, and his inner monologue? Disturbing. You just got caught violating someone’s bodily autonomy, and your next major thought is about your erection at the ultrasound Be serious.

I’m all for morally gray characters, but this wasn’t that. This was unsettling, and the attempt at redemption fell flat. Some things just aren’t swoon-worthy and this man was never one of them.

Oh and the “Rhodes to this and Rhode to that was corny cus yeah he needed to be on the Rhode TO prison with his freaky frog behind

For Karima to be everything to everyone with her caring heart, her story sure did bring the drama! Lawd.... 😤🤯 Karima is the angel walking among us, and I was excited to see her next chapter in Nashville. When she reconnected with Rhodes, I'm like okay she will finally get the love that she deserves. Then Rhodes had to go and do some fboy ish! Just why sir? 👀 I was pissed right along with Karima, but then I felt a bit of empathy for him, due to all he had gone through.

Back in Nome if the drama coming from all sides isn't enough, then tragedy strikes! 😢 Karima is thrust front and center again to help her family with her wisdom and words from God! I loved how Rhodes stayed true to his word with showing Karima he had changed. She needed someone in her corner to make sure that she was pampered and taken care of, the same way she did for everyone else.

Now Milana has made quite the mess for herself, and I'm not sure how she is going to come out of this unscathed. Looking forward to her book to see how everything is resolved. Whew! What a read! 👍🏿👍🏿

Hmmmmm…

The second half of this was almost enough to make me forget how egregious Rhodes’ actions were in the first part of this book. He basically SA’s (stealths) Karima which is the height of ain’t ish behaviour and is not love. The novel portrays this as a problem mostly because of how what he does affects her future not because of the huge betrayal of trust and the SA nature of his actions. Even though Rhodes was otherwise likeable as a hero, that action was so wrong and the apology not addressing the assault part enough that it was hard to not side eye him the whole book. That said, since Karima forgives him, as readers we kind of go along with it and it’s good he’s there to ensure she has time to recover from the drain on her emotions that her family drama has.

I think this ended a bit abruptly and that Karima and Rhodes’ love story got a little overtaken by family tragedy but still an engaging read, even though I could have done with a lot less of the “Rhodes to…” puns.

My emotions.

First I was like, aww. Then I was like, I know he didn’t do that, then back to aww. There was also some laughter, and some crying. Karima was for sure an angel. She was everything to her family, and once she and Rhodes got past their hiccup, he was everything she needed him to be.
I love how other characters were interwoven into the story. I can’t wait for the next installment.

It’s always a good time filled with drama and love in Nome, Texas with the Henderson’s, and Karima’s story did not disappoint. Karima was going through it with her family and was not going to settle in her romantic relationships. Rhodes was foul for that stunt in the beginning but he redeemed himself. Glad Rhodes and Karima were able to come to an understanding and be there for each other. Liked the appearance of Watchful Eyes and the Berottee crew. The drama with Milana, Ace, Grandpa, Tiffany and the others drew all the emotions. Looking forward to reading about Milana, Ace, and the other Henderson children.

Rhodes to love, ecstasy and euphoria ☺️

I had a feeling the Henderson were going to experience loss, but I didn’t expect the way it all transpired. Karima and Rhodes just needed to get on the same timeline. While he was trying to skip chapters, she was taking her sweet time perusing the pages. I loved their love. Now, we gotta let Milana skip some of her cousins in line. I need to know how her story plays out 😂

Karima and Rhodes story was beautiful! This book took me on an emotional ride but it was worth it. I’m not going to say too much because I don’t want to give anything away. This is a must read and the Hendersons never disappoint.

KARIMA & RHODES ❤️

I loved Karima's spirit and how she was the voice the family needed during the hard times and the turmoil the family was going through. Although I didn't like Rhodes selfish action towards Karima, he truly loved her and didn't want to lose her again. He took accountability and was willing to do whatever it took to make things right.

In this installment of The Hendersons of Big City Nome, Texas… we met Karima and Rhodes.

He was a true loner, and he desired her more than he even wanted to admit.

She, Kenny Henderson's daughter, was Henderson's country princess and voice of reason.

"I’d already prayed and there was nothing more that I could do about it. While I wanted to scream and cry, I knew that wouldn’t help or solve anything."

Monica took us down memory lane of her catelog with some of her day ones, IYKYK: Watchful Eyes came through. Ryan (RJ) along with Shawn and Nathaniel (Kai) and more.

I, for one, needed for reminder and distraction because the Henderson's, were literally imploding in this book. There was so much going on in was as exhausted as Karima 🤦🏾‍♀️!

The writer tried to shed light on how spiritual Karima's character was and as usual did it to the point of distraction. She doesn't write spiritual well and it comes off disingenuous and too much.

She did the same with Rebirth of Noah which I DNF as a result. i couldn't keep my eyes from rolling every time she described his girlfriends angelic harmonizing in the middle of conversations.

That could also come as a result that I never forgave the writer from breaking up Jah and Noah 💁🏾‍♀️ then trashing her character, but I digress.

I loved the family break down by book in at the beginning of the book. This family is growing! Its crazy to see how far we've come.

To be honest, this read was a lot. You're gonna cry and reminisce. You're gonna shake your head. You may just roll your eyes... but you will enjoy the ride.

With this family, you know that there will be some tense situations packed in with romance.
This book did not disappoint.

I absolutely loved the story of Karima and Rhodes. I liked how smoothly their reunion started in Nashville. The love that they had for each other was deep as 12 feet of water. Then, the bottom of the chair fell apart. Their world and hearts were shattered, and it appeared their hearts wouldn't be repairable. But God had other plans in the makings.

Selfishness reared its ugly head in a way that wasn't meant to be selfish. Love makes you do crazy things, and Rosewood did just that. The Henderson men were ready to go to battle for Karima if she gave the word. He had to work hard to get his baby back. Once Karima was past the anger and hurt, she was able to move forward. The love that they had for each other was strong and unbreakable.

Through all of Karima's personal situation, the Henderson family was in crisis as a result of the way their matriarch's death occurred. She was that calming voice and spirit to keep them uplifted.

Great story, but I would have loved it to be a little more Rima and Rosewood centered. Too much of the Henderson family drama was a distraction: 1.Gradpa death
2.Aunt Tiff & Malani drama
3.Malani's mess 4.cousin Ace arrested for murder

However, this is thee Henderson family, and it is to be expected.

Rocky Rhodes

WOW! Hail Hail the Henderson hoodlums, crew & associates are ALL here in Big City Nome TX 😮‍💨🤩🤭‼️Nevertheless, it’s always a pleasure to receive updates on familiar characters, families & or former underdeveloped storylines. Meanwhile, Ms. Walters threw the ranch, barn & a few boots at readers with this newest installment 🤭‼️…Never a dull moment with the Henderson’s‼️Yup, there was a lot of information disseminated from “Rhodes To Love (The Henderson Family Saga - Book 24) and even more to ingest within those two hundred & twenty pages of content to re-familiarize & cross reference characters & or storylines which spanned over three years (if not longer🤷🏾‍♀️🥴) several series, at least three crossover books 😵‍💫🤦🏾‍♀️🫣‼️Honestly, I’m exhausted & frustrated because we (meaning “I”) don’t know Rhodes’ (or his family) nor did I receive his (BS) lame explanation for his recklessness🤷🏾‍♀️‼️ Also, Karima shares culpability in the unnecessary rocky rhode entrapment scheme‼️However, I’m just a spectator. If Karima & the Henderson family are satisfied, I concede me too, no movement 🧐‼️

Oh how I love this serues!

Karima always the one with a wird from God a calming spirit reunites with her high school bestie Rhodes Wood. He's loved her since they met in 12th grade and wants to be with her forever. When they start dating he feels he loves her too much to let her go so he does the unthinkable and impregnates her. She's so hurt but in the end she realizes why he did it and forgave him. The Henderson clan at first wanted to do him dirty, but she convinces them she loves him and what's done is done. Grandpa Henderson's attack was awful, it caused another rip in the family circle and Rhodes father's past comes up as well. It all works out in the end. So many issues with Aunt Tiff and her daughter we will have to see what happens as well as Ace's fate when he jumped in to try and save Grandpa Henderson. A lot is going on with the families. Can't wait to see what Monica Walters has next!

Rhodes to love

This story was a lot from beginning to end and I’m not sure how I feel about it. I didn’t hate it but I didn’t love it either. Karima and Rhodes were cute together, but some of the things that Rhodes did was questionable and a bit toxic. I honestly didn’t think Karima would forgive him as fast as she did, but she definitely operates in her gift at all times it seems and that’s what helped her forgive and move on with Rhodes.

There was a lot of drama from the rest of the Hendersons and has me looking forward to getting more details about those situations. If you’re a fan of the Hendersons I would suggest reading this story if for no other reason than to continue their saga and not be confused when previous issues or situations are brought up in future stories because there is always an overlap.

Never disappoints

Monica is just amazing with her pen game! I love the Hendersons and will never get tired of them!!! Of course Mayor of Big City Nome had to be nosey in this book! lol. I’m happy she forgave him and the story didn’t drag throughout the chapters of them not being together. God told her he is the one! Heck he packed up and moved to be around her!!! lol. Great read. Of course I had to shed some tears. But I have a great understanding of wanting to be with your love ones that are already gone. Ready for book 25!! I know it will be some mess with mother and daughter

In my feelings

Ok, I titled my review in my feelings because this book brought out so many of my feelings. I can relate to Karima with how God uses her. I’m very familiar with that. Loosing Pop Henderson the way it played out was hard to read but his death was beautiful. It made me angry how Rhodes lost most of his family behind street mess but I was joyful when you brought my baby daddy Ryan back lol. Just that little glimpse of him put a giant smile on my face. I am looking forward to the next book, but I must acknowledge that you did your big thing with this book. As the kids would say, you ate down with this one sis!!

Love Always Win

This book had me up at 2am trying to finish, all while traveling in another country! I loved how Karima was able to listen to God as he spoke of how Rhodes was made for her. When it’s meant to be… it shall be! Monica brought out all the family for this book. I’m looking forward to more drama and of course love from both the Henderson’s and the Berotte’s. Ali to the rescue again. Rhodes leveled up to make sure he was the man that Karima needed him to be and I loved that for him. Waiting now to see what happens with Milana because Aunt Tiff is cutting up right now!

Absolutely Amazing Read

The Rhodes is Love were beautiful! Karima was the most spiritual person in the Henderson family. Her relationship with God was like no other! Rhodes getting to experience that with her through the good and bad was so beautiful. Although he almost lost her, their love was extremely beautiful. There was nothing he wouldn't do to protect physically, mentally, or emotionally. I absolutely love how Monica keeps combining characters from previous books! Watchful Eyes, as well as all of the others will always be my favorites. Awesome read! Can't wait to see read the next book! Job well done!

Lord I'm pooped, I am drained Rhodes was desperate and not thinking straight but he wanted Karima so bad that he felt the only way to get her was to get her pregnant. Now she has to change everything cause now she is going to have his baby, Lana's drama have surfaced and the ex and his brother have hurt the Grandfather so there is hell to pay and Ace is the one who ran up on the attack and took out the three. Karima have a strong relationship with God and the one everyone goes to for advice and counsel and it's taking a toll on her mental. Can't wait to see what happens in the next book but one thing I can say is Rhodes got his girl

Loved It

Kareem and Rhodes they were so perfect together I was so glad they were able to connect. I was even more so grateful to see some of the old characters from the books before. Karima truly had a gift from the Master! The Henderson's is a tight knit family and don't play about one another. Furthermore the spiritual side of things was inspiring and hopefully everyone can learn to be still when He speaks! I'm looking forward to the next installment, because Rhodes and Karima need to get married and I want to know how Milana handle things going forward, along with Ace situation.

The Hendersons are back!!

The Hendersons are back again with more drama and I'm here for it. Karima wasn't looking for love but it falls in her lap with friend from the past. Rhodes admits he has always had feelings for her but she never gave them a chance. They wer.e doing great at building their relationship until he breaks her trust by intentionally getting her pregnant. Although she understood why he did it, it didn't make it right. Rhodes was determined to fix things with Karima to get her back and fix their family. Some other family drama doesn't end well and takes away the oldest Henderson. I can't wait until the next book to see how they recover from this loss.

We finally got Karima’s story and I absolutely loved it. We have seen her as a strong secondary character always there for her family with words of encouragement or advice. Still, after reading this book my heart broke for her because we now see how much she struggles with when the weight of her entire family feels like it's on her shoulders. This book needs more than five stars because in my opinion it's one of the best so far and y'all know the Hendersons ain’t to be played with!
Now… I have decided to just embrace my heaux side, my roster is now longer because there is no way to keep Rhodes from the lineup 😩. I love this man down (tomfoolery, selfishness, and all). What truly made me fall for him was his love for Karima, I’ve read about male characters being obsessed but he is on a different level because he has had yearrrrs to sit in his obsession😆
As I've stated in many of my reviews Monica Walters is a literary Queen out here and I'm always giving her her flowers because she never misses her mark. She crafted this book beautifully and of course, my emotions were all over the place but I made it to the end and I can't wait for the next release because the Hendersons give me everything I need every time!

I love the Hendersons family 😍

I'm trying to keep this review short and sweet. I feel like I know the second-generation Hendersons personally. Karima is such a special young lady. She is a Henderson, though, when pushed, you know it.
Rhodes, I understand where he's coming from. It doesn't make it right, but he is crazy in love. I can't imagine anyone hasn't read The Hendersons Family books, but if you haven't, it's a collector's item. As always, Mrs. Walters, it's my absolute pleasure reading your books. 🥰

What a road to love indeed!
We've all had that one from high school that we thought we couldn't live without. Well in this case, even time couldn't keep the inevitable from happening. It was such a joy to see how their story unfolded.
Of course with the Henderson family, it came with A LOT as usual. I tell ya a time was had reading this book and all getting a peak at the family and the cameos from all of their beloved friends!
Well done Author Monica Walters! I can't wait to see what's next! 👏🏾💖

Welcome back to Big City Nome

It's good to be back with the Hendersons. Karima is such a beautiful angel. And Rhodes is her perfect soul mate. I didn't like how he did things, but he more than made up for it. This was a very heavy story. I couldn't believe how tough Tiffany was to Milana. I look forward to seeing this play out in the next book. As always, I appreciate the family chart. I had forgotten which kids belonged to which parents. Storm & Jasper are still my favorites. Keep doing yo thang Monica Walters! 🤗 I'm such a fan of your storytelling.

The Roads Lead to Everlasting Love

I throughly enjoyed Rhodes and Karima story. I love the Henderson family and hate that there is so much turmoil with the family. Hope they can all have peace and happiness. Hopefully that Milana and Tiffany bond will be back strong. God really used Karima in this story and she is a true Henderson when that side came out that made Uncle Major proud. Can't wait for the next Henderson book.

Spectacular

I absolutely loved this book. I was glad to get back to Big City Nome with the Hendersons and catch up with the family. It was also good to see Watchful Eyes, The Berottes, Ryan, Shawn, and Syn! This book told Karima's and Rhodes story of true, everlasting love and how one lapse in judgement can make you lose everything you yearn for. Can't wait for my next trip to Nome!

Oh what love can do

Baby I think I cried through the whole book lol. Karima is such a gift and to have a man like Rhodes supporting her is even better. I love this family and there’s always a lesson for me with them. Keep God in the forefront of every relationship and situation you have-with yourself, family, significant other as well as your enemies. His word will do exactly what it says-heal, save, deliver, protect, etc etc. Great job Monica!!

Rhodes To Love (The Henderson Family Saga Book 24)

Monica Walters never disappoints with her penmanship. Her storyline was amazing and the characters were so well written about you would think you knew them personally. She gave us disappointment and pain but we also got to experience love and respect and compassion in this book. She even gave us religious references with God in the book. I hope that you read this book because it’s an Amazing Read.
