Rate this book
One bad boy billionaire plus one sexy geek equals one hot fling.

It's a travel nightmare for mathematician Caylee Reynolds. It's bad enough that her luggage was lost en route to her conference, but when she arrives at the Australian resort and learns that she's also lost her reservation, Caylee’s ready to break down. Then things get even worse. The resort is owned by Blake Sampson―the bad boy who once took everything from her...

Blake thought he’d left his troubled past far behind him. Then the sexy-but-proper math guru he’s never been able to forget walks into his lobby. Hoping to show Caylee he’s changed, he offers to share his suite. Except the attraction between them only grows in such close quarters―exponentially.

Even though Blake’s incredibly successful—and hot—Caylee’s not sure she can risk her heart again. Not after the way he destroyed her trust when he disappeared years ago. But if she's wrong in her calculations, she could lose everything...

Rating: 2,5 Stars
Storyline: I normally love second chance romances… but somehow this one didn’t make the part. The plot had everything to be a great story but there was something lacking… mostly chemistry and connection between the heroes. I didn’t felt their love, but I definitely felt some aspects to be completely unrealistic… like she holding such a big grudge after ten years, and they finding each other again after so many years in the other side of the world (!!!). However, this is an easy-flow romance, low on angst and you may like it!
Character Development: Okay. I HATED Caylee. The hero was helping her with everything, being a great guy and she spent almost the entire book being ungrateful and judgmental after something that happened ten years ago when they were kids. Blake was sweet and nice but he didn’t strike as a billionaire CEO. He didn’t have the coolness or the powerful attitude that comes with it. He looked like a hot surfer and nothing at all like a sexy billionaire businessman.
Steam: Some hot scenes.

This was cute and a little spicy, short enough to read in one night if you've got the time. I expected more of a geeky twist, but that wasn't exactly the case. The heroine changes into a beautiful butterfly because of a change of clothes, and all the shallow men around her take notice when she sexes it up a little.

I think this fell flat for me because of the supposed background between these two. The coincidence that two people who were neighbors growing up would just happen to run into each other in another country is pretty sketchy. Add in that the male lead is the guy who took the heroine's virginity and is now swooping in to save the day, and it's pretty unbelievable. There is, of course, a big misunderstanding from way back when, and it rears it's ugly head now that they are in forced close proximity.

Still, both the H/h are likeable, if not very dynamic. Among the thousands of other romances, this was just not a big standout. But it was okay.

2 Geek vs. Billionaire Stars

Her Hot Number provided a simple, fast-paced read for me. The story of Caylee, math geek and introvert happens to bump into Blake, self-made billionaire boy from her past while she’s in the middle of a travel crisis. Boy helps girl with crisis, old feelings long buried resurrect from the depths of their beings, and a push/pull of emotion ensues.

The writing in Her Hot Number engages the reader in a way that makes the story easy to read. This was surface level reading, entertainment only reading – an easy beach read. The emotions from the past I thought would have served greater purpose had they been expounded upon more. Even the depth of the conflict both characters are fighting against could have ran a bit deeper to give the characters a more dimensional feel.

The feelings the two of them had for each other seemed forced based on residual feelings from the past – there wasn’t a lot of present as each kept referring back to the past without really revealing much depth about it. Their relationship progressed rather quickly with Caylee making changes encouraged by Blake. Those parts I loved – billionaire orchestrates a confidence boost because he recognized geek’s inner beauty so innately he exploits an outer beauty she hides.

I never lost interest in their story and felt content to finish until they reached their inevitable resolution and happily ever after - this made the book okay for me. The epilogue gave me a great feeling of satisfaction about the story and probably helped bump up my rating. I think the story was okay but didn’t love it. It’s a shorter book and easy to get through. Contentment is the best way to describe how I felt about it. Not overly satisfied or dissatisfied.

Blake has tons of logic and reasoning, "either we go shopping, or you wear that bikini until they manage to find your luggage, which might not be for a couple of days. And while you do look very nice in it, when I take you out for dinner tonight, you might feel a little awkward being the only one in the restaurant who's not wearing actual clothing." He's a man that often changes his mind, "hey." He slipped his arms around her waist and pulled her close. "I've changed my mind. Temporary insanity - I don't know what the hell I was thinking." His hands moved down to her butt and he bent his knees to push his swelling stiffness against her bare cleft. "I'm taking you back to bed." I enjoyed this book and the back and forth between Blake and Caylee.

Just the sort of minimal-angst love story to explore on a sleepless night. A surprising second-chance at love for Blake Samson and Caylee Reynolds. Former next door neighbors, adolescent Blake bullied math geek Caylee relentlessly until the night she finds him in her bed and he takes her virginity and then disappears the next day.

Now, years later our H/h find themselves reunited on a gorgeous Australian resort, owned by none other than Blake. Attending a math conference, frustrated Caylee arrives with lost luggage and a lost reservation. Overhearing her plight, Blake offers to share a guest bedroom in his Penthouse Suite. And their story unfolds from there.

--Is their attraction still as fierce?
--Are they each willing to give a little and forgive a lot?
--They're running against the clock, will they run out of time?

I was gifted a copy of this book for an honest review. I fell in love with this short sweet romance very quickly. The characters in this book were very easy to love and you will find yourself rooting for them all the way. Blake is the perfect book boyfriend. He is sexy, funny and very protective. Caylee is sweet and vulnerable. The one thing I loved about her is the fact that when she had her doubts she asked him about them. I also loved that this book was not filled with angst it had the perfect amount so that it didn't take away from the story. I am looking forward to more from this author. Well done Talia!

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.

I was given the privilege of ready this book early from the author. This was the first book that I had read by this author and I loved it. Before I say anything about the book…. Holy HOT Cover!! Its definitely something to look at! This book starts off with the leading lady, Caylee, having major travel problems. What she goes through is definitely everyone’s worst fear when it comes to traveling. Having had similar issues coming I was totally able to empathize with her.

Insert a man from her past that even though she didn’t want to remember him, she did. When she sees Blake, she is instantaneously brought back to the heart ache she felt when he left suddenly. Being the owner of the hotel she is staying in, he over hears the troubles that she has gone through and tries to rectify the situation. She reluctantly lets him help and hopes she doesn’t regret it.

There was fun and light hearted banter between the two which I loved and added to the chemistry. In this book, you get to watch the two characters grow closer and leaves you with the growing question of “Will it work out?” This book was a quick, fun read and I recommend it to everyone. I couldn’t put it down and I would love to read more about these two.

First of all, can we talk about the cover for a second. Her Hot Number, has one sexy, mouth watering cover, that captured my attention from the very beginning. Put a hot male body on the cover of a book and my attention is hooked, but keeping my attention, is a whole different matter. I can honestly say that Her Hot Number, was an enjoyable read that kept me interested throughout the whole story. The banter between the main characters was highly amusing and the attraction between them was intense, yet sweet at times.

This story revolves around Blake and Caylee. Caylee is a mathematician who is in Australia for a math conference and the very resort she made reservations at, is owned by Blake. Blake and Caylee knew each other in the past. He was the bad boy next door and she was the college bound girl, obsessed with numbers. They shared one fantastic night in bed and the next moment Blake was gone. Caylee and Blake have both changed since then, and it's delightful to watch them grow close to one another, while dealing with misunderstandings from their past.

Her Hot Number was a quick read that left me wanting more. I will definitely be on look out for more books from Talia Hunter.

Caylee flies to a resort for a conference and bumps into an old flame, Blake, who just happens to be the owner of the resort where she's supposed to be staying at.

This is a great debut novel from the amazing Talia Hunter! I really enjoyed this book. It's a quick read with a nice mix of sexy, angst and humor. Both of the main characters had sizzling chemistry. It is written in both of their points of view which I think worked perfectly for this story!

I'll definitely be looking forward to more works from this author!

I love this book. I feel so lucky that talia shared this ARC with me. The characters are wonderfully written, and I love how they both have other plans for there life, but just because what you see for your future doesn't happen doesn't mean that the future you do get is a dream come true. The characters discover themselves just as much as discovering love.

I love a book I cannot put down!!!! Nothing seems to go right for Caylee and Blake seems to have his life in order....until their lives collide years after he had hurt her. Will the math geek be able to get the answers from the man who took her virginity? Will the chemistry between these two reignite? Can she ever trust him again? Sit back and enjoy the "ride" as Caylee and Blake face off.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. In no way did this sway either my review or my rating!

Her Hot Number was sweet, full of sexual tension, steamy and such a fun but short read. I gobbled it up in no time at all and before I knew it I was at the end of the epilogue and sighing. Not quite ready for it to be finished! Out of all the books I got from Entangled this month I think this is the one that I was most looking forward to and I wasn't disappointed.

I love nerdy/geeky female characters that don't quite realize just how great they are because I love to watch them on their road to discovering who they really are underneath it all. Caylee is a brilliant mathematician and when it comes to areas of numbers and her research she is brimming with confidence. But I feel like she's got it so much in her head that she wants to be taken seriously in her field and she doesn't think that will happen if she's traipsing around in high heels, with her hair let down from it's rigidly tight braid. I found her absolutely adorable and it was fun to watch her start to let loose and actually have fun doing it, even if she was at war within herself over everything. She was feisty and full of spirit, especially when Blake was pushing her buttons. Something that came naturally to him since they were kids.

Speaking of Blake...he stole my heart instantly. Blake starts off being a sort of knight in shining armor for Caylee and he did so even when she was flat out cold towards him. Their impromptu reunion in his resort lobby was not all smiles and sunshine to say the least. Yet he took it all in stride and still went out of his way to help her it was so sweet. But that was just the type of character Blake was, thoughtful, caring and generous. And, of course, I can't forget sexy and confident and funny and...well you get the idea. But behind all that confidence and swagger is a guy who comes from a very troubled childhood that doesn't quite feel good enough, worthy enough, for anything. Most especially Caylee. It was just the right chink in the armor to make him feel more real and flawed.

For such a short book these two do not make it easy on each other with the trust and trying to get over their past together. There's so much for both of them to get past that right up to the very end I almost felt like maybe there wasn't going to be a happy ending. It wasn't over the top or too much it was just the right amount of tension and issues that had me flipping page after page wondering now that one issue was fixed what would be in store on the next page to throw things off course this time? It was truly a fun, sexy and short but sweet read!

Thank you Entangled for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book!

take a sexy man and a geeky girl add alot of chemistry and you will have the awesome new release by Talia Hunter.
Our sexy billionaire Blake Sampson is the hero and the geeky heroine is Caylee Reynolds.
these two have a past together and makes this book that much more enjoyable.
Blake was a bad boy turned good after a frightening teenage life where the only comfort he ever found was just being able to hang around his neighbor and all around good girl Caylee,
Caylee as a teenager was all about school work and getting good grades and could never understand why Blake always wanted to hang around with her as to her he was perfection and although she harbored a crush on him knew it would never go very far,Until the last night they were ever around one another. After what was the best night of her life, her whole life fell apart and she lost everything that mattered to her and so began the beginning of the new life she had planned for herself.
Years later these two find themselves back together in a most challenging situation and Blake finds that even though years have gone by the geeky girl next door still means quite a bit to him and he wants nothing more to have the relationship she refused him years ago.
Caylee cant believe her bad luck when she runs into Blake, the last man on earth she wants to spend time with.See she has never forgave him for what she thinks he had the nerve to do to her and even though her blood boils with lust and passion, she will not start to believe anything he says and only agrees to allow him to help her cause she has no other choices at the time.
These two come together with a passion fueled by both hurt feelings and a love that has spanned years and is rocky to say the least.
Will the truth ever come out about what really made Blake do what he done and will Caylee be willing to listen to the one man who managed to both make her world and crush it all at the same time.
i think you will enjoy this book if you like the second chance at romance type story,

This book just about had it all. The hot bad boy with a heart of gold, a smart woman that knows what she wants, and a tropical paradise. With a history that goes back years for our main characters - one that's filled with untruths and assumptions that have haunted them both for years. So much goodness I couldn't believe it.

So Caylee is pretty damn smart. She's a mathematician working on some pretty heavy concepts, but may be losing her funding if she doesn't impress the new director. So off she goes to a conference at an island resort run by - or course - her crush from long ago - the one that loved her and left and she's still pissed at how she thinks he did it.

Blake is an amazing bad boy turned billionaire. He comes from a rough past and it never truly leaves him, but he's made the best of all the lessons he's learned and come out on top - and then some. He now owns the resort and jumps at the chance to help Caylee when her travel plays go awry. He also jumps at the chance to show her what he's made of himself. He feels the need to prove to this beautiful and smart woman that he's not the loser he seems to think she thinks he is.

Now, I mentioned they have a history - but it isn't didn't fall out the way either of them though it did. I'm not normally a huge fan of misunderstandings driving emotions in romances, but this one was written in a way that I could actually see it happening. Their assumptions were logical based on the way events played out and they never had reasons to doubt them - until now. Now the both need to be honest and own up to what they did and didn't do if they want to find out if they'll ever work.

I have to say that I really enjoyed this book. I love me a second chance romance, and this book fit that ticket. Overall this book had 2 great characters, a story line that was interesting and easy to sink right into, and the writing itself was wonderful.

Her Hot Number follows Caylee and Blake who have a shared history together. Their past has a few bumps in it, and this book follows what happens when these two find themselves face to face again. Caylee and Blake were such fun characters to read, and I loved stepping into both of their heads. They are both very different than the other, but those differences made them who they are. Caylee does things by the book, while Blake doesn't necessarily follow that rule of thumb. I loved reading what these two brought out in one another, and I felt like I really got to know them while reading this book.

I really enjoyed reading this book, and I especially loved the build this author created in the story between Caylee and Blake. I could feel the desire and connection between them, and that made the story that much more enjoyable to read. It also made me root like all get out for them! The story itself flows well, and the pace keeps it moving from beginning to end.

Overall I really enjoyed reading this book. The author's writing throws you right into the story, and provides you with an enjoyable story with two characters you'll love.

I enjoyed this story of Caylee and Blake. You will fall in love with them and their past and present situations.

Caylee is a mathematician and on a conference. However, she ends up at the one man's hotel she never thought she would see again... Blake Samson... the one person who hurt her the most all those years ago. She's a calculated person but with Blake around... is she?

Blake... never thought he would see Caylee again either. He now has money and a good life, but seeing Caylee look at him as if he is dirt bothers him... why should she hate him so?

I loved the originality of this book. I loved that the woman was the nerdy geek!
I loved the banter, flirting, the clothing issues/help and so much more!

If you want a man who is sweet and caring.. you will fall in love with Blake! He's hot, sexy, sweet but hiding something.....

If you like a woman who is smart, sexy and stubborn in a sense... and doesn't overly take risks... you will fall in love with Caylee.

The two of them are electric, sizzling and scorching together. You will enjoy them, their fights, misunderstandings and more all the way until the end.....

and that END... OH my! I loved it!

Want a short, sometimes sweet, sexy and intriguing story? Buy HER HOT NUMBER and you won't be disappointed! :)

4 stars from me!!!

4 Hot Stars!
Review by Alison East

I loved this book from Talia Hunter and it was a short, quick love story that I needed! And I love when the cover lives up to the hotness in the story.

I really enjoyed the story and I was entertained from start to finish. I loved the plot- and how the characters really bonded, and grew over the span of the story.

I really liked the banter between the main characters, Blake and Caylee. They were really funny and the attraction between the both of them was super-hot and actually down right cute at the same time.

Caylee is a mathematician who is in Australia for a math conference. The resort she is staying at- is owned by none other than Blake!! They actually knew each other in the past- so it's sort of a second chance romance to be honest. He's the ever popular bad boy, she's the nerdy girl, who's also smart and accomplished. They had a one night stand- and before Caylee knew it, Blake was gone.

They both have changed since high school and I love how they grow and change together. Even with all the differences from the past.

I got what I wanted, a new author for me, a fun romantic story, a quick read, no cliffhanger and a happily ever after. Pick this book up and watch out for more from Talia Hunter.

I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review and here it is:

This book is a menace to anyone on a tight schedule!

Talia Hunter joins a very short list of authors whose books I dare not start unless I have plenty of time to read.

This is not my usual romance read, usually preferring the spec-ops or former spec-ops/cop kind of action since "simple" romance stories usually bore me.

This book DID NOT bore me in the least!

Caylee and Blake are human beings with believable flaws and foibles that draw you to them as they struggle to find their way through awkward situations, bad history and too-long denied feelings.

The situations are believable, amusing and touching--all at the same time much of the book. I don't want to give too much away but be assured of a HEA, and a fantastic read.

I will definitely be watching for future books by Miss Hunter and recommending Her Hot Number to those I know who enjoy a good "simple" romance.

****EEEEEEKKKKKKK***** I REALLY REALLY LOVE SECOND CHANCE STORIES!

This was an enjoyable read that kept me interested throughout the whole story, turning page after page in one sitting until is it was over. The banter between the main characters was highly amusing and the attraction between them was intense and scorching hot! And yes, they had their sweet moments, but mostly HOT! LOL They were very easy to love and you will find yourself rooting for them all the way.

This is a great debut novel from what I now consider an amazing author, Talia Hunter! I look forward to more of her stories in the future!

Caylee travels to an Australian resort for a math conference. She needs more funding for her research. She's late checking into the resort, her luggage is lost, and she didn't get a chance to call and they gave away her room. When she runs into Blake, the man she hasn't seen since the night he broke her heart 12 years ago, she has no other option but to take him up on his offer to share a room with him. I really enjoyed this book. It was sweet and sexy - I love a second chance romance. I love that Caylee is a math nerd! I really like the direction this story took, the chemistry between these characters and I love that it had a little angst to keep it interesting! Looking forward to reading more by this author!

If you looked at this cover you know this is gonna be about one hot alpha male. Blake and Caylee were neighbors as teens. One night Caylee decided to let her hair down and be a bad girl and she lost her virginity to Blake. She wakes up the next morning to find her things stolen, but it was her broken heart that hurt the most. Blake decided that night to be a nice guy and follow his heart with Caylee but things didn't work out the way he imagined.

Fast forward to Caylee's trip from hell and guess who is going to be her knight in shining armour....if you guessed Blake, you would be correct. He wants this time to make things up to her. This is one hot and great book, I give it 4.5 stars and would recommend you one click now.

A sweet read , I enjoyed it , it had a little "who done it" which had me guessing. A few funny moments, my favourite moment;
"And to be honest, my ambitions have become smaller since I met Dr Partington. Now I'm just hoping I don't have to give up my research and get a job cleaning toilets."
"Funny you should say that, because we happen to have an opening for a toilet cleaner here at the resort. If you give me your resume and references I'd be happy to consider you for the position."
She raised one eyebrow playing along. "Would you consider my experience in dealing with Dr Partingtons shit to be adequate training?

Her Hot Number by Talia Hunter first off has One Hot Cover!! I can seriously say this awesomely hot man swept me right off my feet from the start! I found myself really wishing I was Caylee! I loved the sexual banter between Blake and Caylee and the intense attraction and love they were both trying to avoid and deny. The mystery of their past relationship kept me guessing and curious through to the end. This was an intensely sexy but really sweet love story all at the same time!
I really enjoyed reading this book and will look forward to reading more from this author in the future!!

Rec’d an ARC in exchange for an honest review…

I loved it! ‘Her Hot Number’ is a well written; fun read! I honestly could not put it down once I started to read it. It was easy to fall in love with the characters, Blake and Caylee!

What I loved most about the book was that it wasn’t totally angst and drama filled. Blake and Caylee had their ups and downs in the book; but it was still a great, lighthearted read that I really enjoyed!

I can’t wait to see what Talia Hunter writes next!

This is your typical "old flame" type of romance, with some great humor and a tropical island setting. I enjoyed the banter between Caylee and Blake, and they are a great example of being opposites attracted to each other. A great addition to your beach/pool/vacation reading list!

This is my first novel by Talia Hunter and I was hooked from the start. I wanted to know if Caylee's string of bad luck was going to end and if Blake was really as bad as Caylee made him seem. Misunderstandings and assumptions play a large part to make things interesting. This is a story that will leave you feeling good.
