This has the most perfect hero I have ever read. Too perfect. The story is super sweet and is kisses only. Lots of tenderness.

They fell in love at 13. Head over heels in love. Love at first sight. He went off to college so that he could become educated and be able to take care of her. They waited for each other for years, only seeing each other from time to time until he finished school and his apprenticeship to be married. He returns home, they are blissfully happy until she has an accident where she hits her heads and loses her memory.

The hero stands by her and tries to help her regain her memory, and to make her fall in love with him all over again.

I really liked this book but there are a few things that frustrated me.

The hero is so so so in love with the heroine, and she him, in the beginning. They were both perfect. Until she loses her memory. He does EVERYTHING to help her regain her past. She does start to fall in love with him all over again, but she pushes him away for two reasons.. one is that she thinks he's living in the past and only loves a girl who is no more (her younger self) and the second is that she thinks she is mentally unstable, and she doesn't want him to be stuck with someone who will be an issue in his life because of it.

Reasonable reasons one would think, except he is sooooo perfect I find it so hard to believe anyone would let this man go. And she doesn't until the near end. She completely breaks his heart and it killed him (emotionally).. and me as a reader. He lets her go and leaves. Finally she starts to regain her memory and realizes she not insane. He comes back and all is well.

The hero is what made this story. He is just beautiful. His love for her is amazing.

Although it is never said, but implied, he never strays from her. Always faithful. Even during their separation at college and even when he leaves her. She doesn't stray from him either.

There is no past men or women mentioned in this book. I know little of any other history of them because I have not read the earlier books, but it is implied there was only each other... ever.

There is also no mention of their past sexual experiences, but it is implied the become each others firsts.

I lowered a start because I did feel the writing became a bit repettitve and slow in parts. Not enough to skim, but I wanted to see other things. I wanted to know what thoughts she was having that made her think she was insane. I wanted there to be a bit more about the woman with the red hair she keeps imagining. We really don't get the full resolution to that.

So here it is a perfectly safe book with lovable characters and a HEA.

Would definately recommend and I may read the others in the series at a later date.

Adam knew when he was thirteen that Rebecca would be his wife. Rebecca loves and cherishes Adam. Six years has separated them and they have grown to adulthood. They decide to move forward their wedding date to the next day. That following day Rebecca rides to the sawmill to bring Adam his lunch. She falls off her horse hitting her head on the oak logs. When Rebecca comes to she has no memory of her past or of her family, friends or Adam. They are all strangers to her. Can Adam let go of the past to embrace the future with Rebecca? Will she be able to accept this new Rebecca without memories?

The middle of the story dragged. I began to count how many times Rebecca could reject Adam. The characters are likeable. We know their history from memories and from the present characters's lives. The plot is tried and true. I would read other books by this author.

My Forever Love is a wonderfully-emotional read from historical romance author Wendy Lindstrom. The "sweet" version of Leave it for the Rain, My Forever Love gives us the story of Adam and Rebecca as adults (we met them in My Hearts Desire and A Christmas Promise), preparing to embark on their lives as a newly married couple. From the very first scene, and throughout the entire book, the author uses words to create a compelling, visual picture of what the characters are experiencing.

His head slammed into something hard. Water filled his mouth, choking him. He punched his fist upward between two soaked timbers. Raising his other fist, he shoved the massive pine logs away from each other, creating a gap.

He burst above the surface couching and belching and vomiting water and air. Clamping his lips to suppress his coughs, he immediately ducked beneath the surface and reached for the boy, who was drifting away. Adam hooked his stocking clad toes in the young man's shirt and dragged him close.

Through the words on the page, I felt I could literally see in my mind Adam's struggle in the water to rescue Micah Crane. And the descriptions was so strong throughout the entire book - I feel as though I experienced the highs and lows, happiness and heartbreak right along with Adam and Rebecca. As the story progresses, the imagery that the author has created for the reader is also helping Rebecca, as she uses the descriptions of sights, sounds, smells, and sounds to help her remember previous memories and create new ones. The imagery is just so strong in this book that I felt as though I was walking right alongside Adam and Rebecca as they walked along the river in Crane's Landing, and as they toured their future home in Fredonia, and as they climbed the lighthouse to the "top of the world" and looked out over the ocean. And I feel as though I miss them now that I've finished reading their story.

I love Adam. We have watched him grow up from an awkward 13-year-old boy to a strong, sensitive 23-year-old man who is ready to start his life with the girl he has always loved, Rebecca. He is so incredibly emotional with Rebecca - they just don't make men like Adam anymore. I also love a man that is confident in his feelings, and there is none moreso than Adam. Adam is confident in his feelings for Rebecca, despite her accident and their subsequent struggles, and he is not afraid to express his feelings and demonstrate his love for Rebecca. He has truly become a "Grayson man", something he has endeavored to be since he became Duke's son. Grayson men love their woman fully, with their whole hearts, and they embrace life with exuberance, and this describes Adam to a tee.

I felt the heartbreak and grief along with Rebecca, and Adam, as she struggles with the loss of her memories. The author paints a picture of the fear that Rebecca feels about her future, and her past, as she struggles to remember who she was, and create who she is going to be. As she comes to grips with her new reality, and what is means for her and those around her, she strives to be the person she believes Adam wants her to be, and as a result hurts the one who wants to love her the most. She redevelops her strength as she comes to the realization that its not just about the memories but the feelings she is feeling as she relearns her relationships with her friends and family, and Adam. It's difficult to know whether we are seeing the adult Rebecca because she has grown up, or because she has lost her memories and is redeveloping who she is. And it is insightful as Leo explains to Adam that he is in the same position that we as the reader are - having to get to know the woman Rebecca, where we only previously knew Rebecca the girl.

The author introduces us to Crane's Landing, Maine, in this book and I hope that means we'll get to spend more time on Bay Street and dig further into the lives of Leo and Mary and some of the other wonderful residents there, while staying in touch with the wonderful Graysons in Fredonia. In giving us Adam and Rebecca's story in My Forever Love, the author has also provided a wonderful transition to the next generation of Graysons, as well as a new town and wonderful new friends to get to know in future stories. In the meantime, I will revel in the wonderful feelings that I feel as I think about Adam and Rebecca fighting for the happily ever after we have ALL been cheering for since we first met them!

This romance novel made you feel so much more about how love can be lost and found as long as you communicate with each other. Rebecca has a very bad accident and so she didn’t trust herself in things that she was seeing. If she had of just trusted Doc Samuel and her fiancé Adam there wouldn’t have been that brief rift between the two live birds. I was so relieved to learn that Rebecca was remembering things in her own life and not hallucinating. I’m glad that Adam realized that he and Rebecca had both changed in the ten years that they first met and the seven years of their engagement.

This story will fill you with love then break your heart then mend it back together.

We have watched Adam and Rebecca grow from young teens to adults now and they are ready to begin their lives together with their families. Things don't always go as planned and Adam and Rebecca will have to learn to love each other in a new way.

Great story with lots of interesting parts. Love the hint of mystery and stories from long ago. This book also gives us Nancy Grayson again and how she may learn to love someone new. I really enjoyed how this sweet young couple had to find their way back to each other and in doing so found their future.

Finally Complete

It may have been me but I felt like it drug on FOREVER. I had a hard time getting into it and finishing it in a couple of days.

It was a nice, clean, super sweet, mushy type read. There was a tragedy and a tiny bit of anguish but I just couldn’t get into all of the mundane details.

It was well written and I love a detailed book but for some reason it was too much for me.

This was so saccharine, I have a headache. Even when they got to the actual sex scene (incredibly long, yet conveying very little), it didn't compensate for the miserable journey there. Clearly, this was not my era. Add in a sprinkling if typos and weird punctuation, and I had to strip a second star. Just not my cuppa tea.

Adam and Rebecca

This is a sad, but very sweet touching love story of two people that have loved each other from their childhood days. Not all is an easy road for Adam and Rebecca and she is injured and looses her memory of every one and happenings. Will their love survive this horrible time? You will enjoy discovering if they find their happily ever after.

Great story of good hard-working people

I chose a 5 rating because I couldn't put it down once starting. V ery descriptive word pictures I felt I could even smell the things she described. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The author must have researched ship building and sawmilling.

Not a clean romance.

I loved this story! It was beautiful. But all the nobleness of the characters went out the window when the author chose to write explicitly about their lovemaking. I couldn't even finish the book. I'm so disappointed that her skills couldn't keep us safe from herself.

Not my favorite of this series. I found it drug a little but I still bought the next book in the series. This is Adams and Rachael's story. They have been a couple since they were 13. An accident has erased all of Rachael's memories and Adam is intent on her remembering.

This was so tedious and boring! Nothing was ever happening....not even romance. The guy was too perfect to even be real and the descriptions should have made me feel something, but it all came off as corny and contrived. I skimmed for dialogue the last half of the book and it still felt long.

Great story

But I hated that the author just couldn't keep the book clean and free from explicit sex. I absolutely loved the characters, the writing, the editing, and the storyline but it gets marked down cause I had to skip so many pages to get to the satisfying ending.

A gentle love story

Just when everything looks set for the wedding, tragedy struck. The author blends the recovery from an accident into the rediscovery of love brilliantly. The description of the locations makes you want to visit just to see if it is really as good.

3 stars. I love books with the amnesia trope. This one, though, was too slow and wordy for me. Halfway through I started skimming the long paragraphs of inner thoughts.
