Such a Delight to Experience the life of Kaitlin, as she ambles to an intimate Western picnic, or scrapes the sky in a magnificent jet all while trying to decide if these Soul Mates are really what she needs or wants. I thought that I knew where this plot was heading as I consumed this page turner, but I will save that you to find out. This is outside my usual reading category, but I am glad that I took a chance to enjoy this delightful, intriguing romance. Even though she describes herself as a "larger and lovely" woman, I never got the feeling that this impeded the plot for this story. I enjoyed it to the tune that it kept me up until finishing it. My wife is reading it as I write this review, and she has been under the covers, with Wine, Fruit,by her side and Smiles on her face as she nods her head, and softly agrees with Kaitlin's Dilemma . Waiting for the next edition.4.0 out of 5 stars A Fun, Fast, and Delightful Read. If you don' have a lot of time to read and you like fun upbeat romantic stories this book is for you. Kaitlin is a girl that many of us can relate to in all kinds of ways. She is very down to earth and likeable. I laughed out loud as she manages to get through some uncomfortable situations, literally. I am really looking forward to what happens next.5.0 out of 5 stars Read it in one sitting. This book’s subject is something many of us think about and possibly even toy with these online dating. Being alone is really okay but being alone all the time is sometimes hard to deal with. The main character here goes through a number of events that could be all too common with those seeking companionship in the online dating world. And the author does provide some good advice to those just starting to stick their toes in the water. This is book one of a series. I recommend this book as it was an enjoyable read.5.0 out of 5 stars A Fun Easy Read. I really enjoyed this book and I think most women will be able to empathise with the main character Kaitlyn. It was an easy fun story with just the right amount of drama and romance. Perfect for a rainy afternoon along with tea and chocolate...5.0 out of 5 stars Chicken Piccata, Ice Cream and Dating. One thing this book didn't come with is accompanied food and wine. It's a page turning story, Kaitlin is on her adventure and we set to be her audience, such a big pleasure. This book made me hungry all along my read, and I need to find some chicken piccata and ice cream to be my book companion now. Good read, great atmosphere, and so real.5.0 out of 5 stars I don't read romance books, because I blush easily. But, this was recommended by a friend and so I gave it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. I was quickly caught up in the story and even though I thought I could see where it was going, it was a fun read.
Okay, no fun and fancy words for this review, simply because this book did not make me feel fun or fancy or happy, but for some reason I still liked it.
This story centers around Kaitlin, an accountant from Denver, Colorado and her dating life woes. With the encouragement of her younger sister, Kaitlin decides to jump into the world of online dating after spending time getting over a bad breakup. Kaitlin secretly really likes her boss at the accounting firm where she works, however she is unsure if he (Garrett) feels the same about her. Plus, there is a huge no dating and fraternization rule at her firm and Kaitlin doesn't want to risk her career for a "maybe" mutual attraction to her boss; which I totally understood while reading.
So, as I stated before, Kaitlin decides to try online dating when her younger sister comes to visit; and with her help, Kaitlin creates an online dating profile. Kaitlin is pleasantly surprised and nervous when she actually begins to receive some hits. Kaitlin narrows down her choices to three potential candidates and here is where some of her dating drama begins.
Overall, I liked this story more than not, I am not entirely sure why, but I did like it. It wasn't particularly funny and Kaitlin is a little nervous and neurotic in my opinion. However, her anxiety wasn't totally out of place, given that she was coming off of a bad break up and hadn't dated anyone in a while, especially not through an online source. I am glad that Kaitlin put herself out there eventually and didn't get too caught up in her extra curves and let that stop her. I get so sick of BBW books where the ladies are so hung up about their size and/or make fun of themselves to get the jokes out of the way or whatever. I think that is so annoying and cliche and dating anxiety is not only relegated to BBW's or women, men feel it too! I pretty much think anyone who is not a complete douche and a narcissist feels "the nerves" at some level, so I appreciate the author for not making Kaitlin a completely, ridiculous wreck. She overall, felt good about herself (as she should), especially when she was rocking a fabulous outfit. Kaitlin handled her dating situation fairly well I thought, especially when a couple of these guys started to become super iffy with a capital I.
I think this book is worth a read. It has a special something that makes you like it and want more. I am not exactly sure what that "something" is, but it has it. I will definitely read the second book when it is released, especially since I was into the ending and need/want to know more.
Predictable. Badly written - everything was "I felt ___", "I said ____", I did ____". It was a telling of someone's story, not letting the reader get involved. Did I mention predictable?
The characters were cliches, the heroine spent most of her time either drinking or pondering her make-up/wardrobe (and had no redeeming qualities of her own to draw from, while judging others)...
