**Warning** This book contains strong sexual content, strong adult language, and domestic violence. But it does have a happily ever after…no cliffhanger. Sydney and her best friend Theresa are enjoying their Junior year of college. When Sydney’s boyfriend breaks up with her she becomes the target of the star quarterback. After some convincing from her best friend, she finally agrees to go on one date with the sexiest guy on campus. Ronnie Thomas, star quarterback, has a dark past. No matter how hard he tries, his past always comes back and creates problems in every relationship. He wants things to be different with Sydney, she’s beautiful, funny, smart, and patient. Cade , a Nomad in the motorcycle world, meets Sydney one weekend when he attends a party at the club house where her dad is the President of the motorcycle club. His best friend Bryan, a prospect for the club, warns him that Sydney is off limits since she’s the Prez’s daughter. But Cade see’s what she is hiding from her family and friends. When Sydney calls Bryan and Cade for help--all hell breaks loose. Ronnie won’t give up that easy and plans on doing whatever he has to, to have Sydney.
I had love-hate relationship with this book. The h, Sydney, is a college student, a daughter of an MC president and a cheerleader who catches the eye of the Ronnie, the star quarterback. After he dumps his girlfriend, he begins to pursue Sydney hard. On the surface he seems wonderful, sweet and attentive maybe a little too attentive. Little by little he becomes obsessive, jealous and abusive both verbally and then physically. Sydney tries to leave Ronnie but he manipulates her many times with his apologies and tears and she ends up staying. Then there is a really bad episode which scares Sydney and she calls Bryan a member of her fathers MC to help her. He brings with him Cade, a sexy nomad who is attracted to Sydney. Sparks fly between them but before anything can happen, Ronnie sucks Sydney back in with his lies and promises and Cade leaves disgusted. Of course Ronnie's goodness does not last and by college graduation Sydney has had enough. She dumps Ronnie and goes home hoping thats the end of it. When she gets home Cade has a girlfriend but that does not stop him from wanting Sydney and the sparks fly again. But Ronnie is not out of the picture and he is crazier than ever now that he thinks Sydney has moved on.
I liked he concept of this book but parts of it turned me off. I know th author wanted portray the reality of domestic abuse and how victims continue to go back to their abusers. But somtimes Sydney came off as really immature and ridiculous. I did like that not only did we get the H/h POV but also the abusers Ronnie. Rewind does an HEA but it is hard fought to get there.
I had this book in my library for awhile & I kept putting off reading it because the cover is horrible. It was a really good book & it just goes to show that you really can't judge a book by it's cover. Cade was sexy as sin, especially with his vibrating tongue ring. Sydney was sweet & I felt bad for her but sometimes I wanted to smack some sense into her. Ronnie was a piece of shit scumbag & I'm glad he got what he deserved. My favorite thoughts & quotes from Cade & Sydney :
"Is your tongue vibrating ?"
"Bring that sweet pussy up here."
I blew across her swollen clit. I slid my thumbs to the inside & pulled her pussy lips further apart. The first touch of my tongue to her clit she cried out a stream of cuss words. Over & over again I licked her clit, sucked on it, & held the vibrating barbell against it.
"Cade... oh god stop."
She was rocking her hips, her pussy juices dripping like sweet honey onto my tongue.
"Breathe Sydney, if you want me to fuck you then I suggest you climb on my dick because I'm about to pop a nut from the taste of your pussy & the sounds you're making."
Like I said, the woman had me pussy whipped but she also had my heart.
Wow this book was sexy and hot. Sydney was lovely and thought she had found love in Ronnie but he was bad news and a very evil man. Sydney's dad was head of a MC so now comes sex on legs cade. Cade was a big tattoo biker and from he first met Sydney there was a connection but nothing could happen until later. All characters were great only down part was adding Ronnie POV in the book it would of been better with just cade and Sydney xx
There were some parts of the plot that I didn't really like. The running back to her 1st bf after what happened. Him and the other ex. It didn't make sense. The smut was at least good. It started out really great.. with them meeting and him being this hot biker God. After that, it just kept deteriorating.
Sydney is a college cheerleader and has a crush on Ronnie the star quarterback. It's obvious he's interested but he has a girlfriend and she has a boyfriend. The following year, they are both single, so when he asks her out she says yes. What starts as a sweet young romance for Sydney, turns into a dark obsession for Ronnie. Abuse is never something a person should have to live through. Verbal abuse is bad enough. But when it turns physical it's definitely time to call it quits. Sydney tries to leave Ronnie, but he seems to know exactly what to say to make her falter and end up staying. After a really bad incident, Sydney decides she's had enough and calls Bryan, one the members from her dad's MC club, and Cade a nomad who has offered to help her once before. They agree to keep the truth from her father.
The attraction between Cade and Sydney is something they both feel. He grew up in an abusive family and he knows the signs. He's determined to help Sydney. But it's hard to help when she keep going back to Ronnie. He knows she feels the connection they have. But he can't wait forever if she won't leave Ronnie.
Will Sydney finally realize Cade is the better man? And if so, will it be too late? How far will Ronnie go to make sure that he's the one who ends up with Sydney?
Overall, good book. Sydney and her friend Theresa are a little immature when they're together. Ronnie is pretty scary. It's sad but true that this kind of stuff happens in real life. I liked Cade and Bryan and thought they were both great guys. Ryan, Sydney's friend from her squad was nice too. HEA and standalone.
Side note..This book does need some editing. The author uses the word "seen" incorrectly throughout and several sentences are missing words.
I want to give a 10 star rating!! But of course I can't, so here goes...I LOVED THIS STORY!!! Abuse is something to write about for the people who are in the relationship.it could help them realize that they can leave.this story made me remember my past and the abuse of a husband/ boyfriend.Cade & Sydney were so hawt together, it made my kindle smoke!! haha..hope to read more from this author..
Wow, what a ride! This was a none stop fast paced ride! I absolutely loved Cade. There was a point that I was a little disappointed in him but he is one sexy guy. Can't stay mad for to long . (Wink wink) all and all this was a good read, a little dark so be warned its not all love and roses. But I did like the story line and the characters. Defiantly not a bad read and I look forward to reading more books by Christina Marie!
I really liked this book! I wasn't sure if I was going to like this book or not. I'm really glad I read it. H.M. wrote a book about things that happen in real life. I know some people won't like it cause of what happens but this is real life. I loved it!
I absolutely loved it....at first I wasn't sure I would like it....but I loved it the further I got in the book the more I loved cade...and I hated Ronnie from the start.....I hope more is to come
This was my first book by Christina Marie but it certainly will not be my last. I loved the characters and the story. It dealt with the domestic violence situation without making the character seem weak or stupid. It was very realistic.
I started reading unstoppable then realised I needed to read this fist.
Couldn't put it down, wow!! Well written and a heart breaking story line. I have to say I loved the names at the end very creative, so onto Harley and Rydars story.
I enjoyed reading this book, some bits were a little dragged on, and I did like reading this, I do recommend as it stated in the blurb it has scenes of rape and abuse..
Good book with some really uncomfortable situations dealing with abuse. Really enjoyed how the MC played a part in this story. Too difficult to tell what I liked without giving away the story.
I read this a few months ago and for some reason I saw something on TV and it reminded me of this book so I had to search for it. For the life of me I couldn't remember any character names except for Lucifer who plays the father and is the President of the MC. I couldn't remember author name, name of book, zip...nada....Do you know how long it took me to find it? 4 hours after going through all my books...lol I did like this book. I think it needs some polishing such as some editing errors which I can give my business a shout out Roni's Editing Services. Anyways, it is a real emotional book and very graphic details about abuse in the book but it doesn't end with a cliffhanger!!!! Thank God...So tired of CLIFF HANGERS!!!! The cover doesn't match the description of the heroine in the book. Her name is Sydney. She is very petite and a cheerleader in college. Other than that I really enjoyed the book. I love the ending BTW. The next book is called Unstoppable. I've read it already but like I said I forgot the names of the books and didn't do the reviews. So sorry.
I got this free MC "romance" and for the most part it was good...fast paced and mostly steamy but with a heavy dose of reality as it dealt with physical and emotional abuse in a relationship (and not between the biker and the girl). I found the heroine Sydney to be a little annoying with her back and forth behavior with the abusive BF and especially having her family be bikers, she should have been tougher and more street smart. Cade was the at first, unattainable hot biker who was there to defend her most of the time, but dealing with his own family issues left him vulnerable to sabotage by another woman and all kinds of misunderstandings happen before things get straightened out. Plenty of sex, violence and a cautionary tale for women to be careful who they wish for...sometimes the baddest boys look like your harmless next door neighbor.
**** 3.5 **** "love is not supposed to be painful" stars
3.5Stars This was a good story, I did enjoy reading it. There are warnings given to the darkness of the storyline so I was well aware of what I was going into. I really felt for Sydney throughout the entire story. It wasn't until later in the story we got Ronnie's POV. While it didn't make me like him and I don't think that is what the author was going for it was good to be able to see where is mind was at. When Cade came into the picture and things started happening it really took me on a roller coaster. I was a bit sad at the end but it came together for what I needed and would recommend this read.
Wow! This book was like an emotional roller coaster!!! I loved it! Ronnie and Sydney's situation was very sad and intense and I really wanted to reach in the book and slap the shit out of her when she went back to him! It annoyed me that her and cade would get together for a day and let thugs come between them instead of talking! They should have been together sooner than they were! I'm also glad she got her revenge at the end there! It was a good way for it all to end!
What can I say but this book was amazing!!!! I loved the storyline....told great....even though it's a tough subject to read about. The author gave all sides to what was happening. I just can't say enough....there was so much emotion reading g it....from the drama to the sizzling love/sex scenes!!!! Can't wait to read more from this author!!!
This book was an amazing book. It has a really serious plot but it takes a while to get threw it. I love that the author has all this support for the victim. She made an awesome male lead. Theresa and Sydney are awesome they are a great team
