I am just thrilled and flabbergasted of this wonderful collection of books. I just bought this, but I own and have read each individual book before. They are all truly exceptional books. They are full size books. If you love this genre or have been curious about it, you should get this, you will not be disappointed. I fell in love with these stories from the beginning. I normally do not promote boxed sets, the ones that I do promote and praise is because they are trully wonderful.

The Legend - Sir Alec Summerlin loses his faith and lays his weapons down for good. Can Lady Peyton Fluornoy help his faithless soul?

The Gorgon - Sir Bose de Moray, former Captain of the Guard of King Henry III until his wife died in childbirth now joins the tournament circuits. There he meets a lovely woman who has a disability and her father and brothers hide her from the public as much as possible. Darkness follows Sir Bose de Moray though. What possibly awaits these two?

Great Protector - Sir Richmond le Bec, a young knight, tasked 18 years ago to ensure the safety of his liege's illegitimate child, the now Lady Larissa de Lohr. This is a great story of intrigue, battles, evilness, devotion, loyalty, life and death, but also of love. What awaits and how far would you go for love?

The Darkland - Sir Kirk Connaught has gone to escort his liege's betrothed, Lady Micheline le Bec to him, at his hone dubbed The Darkland. He also serves as escort to Lady le Bec's sister Mara, the fiery dark haired beauty who is reckless and intriguing. Upon arriving and learning the dubbed name of the castle, fear ensues. There is evil and intrigue about. Also cunning forces who seek to cause harm.

I wholeheartedly recommend these stories to you. You will love them!

I love these medieval novels by Kathryn Le Veque. in fact I've read a good number of her books over the last few months. I like the fact that they can be read as stand alone books or you can continue on with other generations and families and see some carry over characters from other books. My only true complaint per say would be is the abrupt endings. For example The Great Protector... you have this story that starts out with a baby, flash forward 18 years and you get to the really good stuff. But the ending... gets wrapped up in a matter of a page and a half. loves reunited married on the spot and out pops a baby, the end. I felt cheated out of hearing their vows, and his recovery, how she took care for him like he's always done for her growing up. How her labor went, how he reacted to it and how he felt becoming a father, what the baby's name was....It just really felt like the author couldn't continue and just said blah blah blah... done. there's just so much more that really could have been added to this. did they get their land, build a home, have a dozen children... or did his injuries leave him unable to father more children. and speaking of children... Arissa took such a liking to the children while they were on their journey... I'm surprised that nothing further came from that. I imagined her deciding to take those children in and giving them a real home and family.

Sweet and sexy.

The heroes are cunning, big hearted and protective. The women are complex, determine and strong in spirit and heart. The villains were despicable. The stories had good balance of devious characters and leads who persevere without compromising their souls. Character developments were well thought out and executed. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

A collection for four novels: The Legend, The Gorgon, Great Protector and The Darkland, I liked the middle two better than the other two. However, the author, did describe the time period accurately in all novels. This is a new-to-me author and I look forward to reading more of her books!
