This is the prequel to the first book in the series, Charley's Confession, and I enjoyed reading how Charley's story came together. It was descriptively told from Charley's and Nick's POV's, and where Nick came across as unsympathetic in Charley's Confession, this gave a truer picture of Nick's side of the story.
I could relate to the bittersweet, teenage angst years, and the author wrote in a very relatable manner, drawing me in. Like Charley's Confession, once I started reading I did not want to stop. When I was forced to, I easily picked up where I left off, and did not have to re-read previous chapters to familiarize myself with the story.
Now that I'm hooked it is on to the next book in the series.
