Twenty years after executing a Desert Storm mission that continues to haunt him, former Marine sniper Michael Wolfe has retreated into the shadows. But when FBI Special Agent Sean Kruger investigates a series of expert assassinations targeting military officers, Wolfe's name keeps surfacing.
As Kruger closes in, he uncovers a buried war crime protected by rank and time—a secret that connects all the victims. With the law's limitations exposed, Wolfe emerges from hiding with his own brand of justice in mind.
A gripping prequel to the Sean Kruger and Michael Wolfe series, two formidable men find themselves on converging paths where justice and vengeance blur into one.

I’m glad I picked up this prequel. I read the first Michael Wolfe book and thoroughly enjoyed it. Therefore, I was really glad to find this prequel that gave me background to that book!
This short work explains how the protaginists of two J.C. Fields series are brought together. It lays the groundwork for each appearing in the other's series. It's well written, a story in itself. New readers of this author might enjoy this as a first read of either series. I highly recommend both.
