Myles gives a robust and detailed description of what coaching is and what is not. He lays out the principles behind effective coaching and shares very useful models to use during these conversations.

His distinction between non-directive and directive coaching is a great way to view and explore the qualities of different approaches, specially because it doesn’t pigeonhole coaching to only one specific approach, but as a range of conversational tools one may use to draw out the best in others. I will for sure re-read chapters of this book.

It was recommended that I read this book, whilst I was studying for my Life Coaching diploma.

It is an informative book and the conversational writing, makes it easy to understand the methods being applied and when.
Definitely based more around business coaching, within offices and a working environment. I am a personal Life Coach so some of it was very useful and other sections were not really applicable to what I do.

I found this an interesting read and the methods very useful.

I loved this book! It explains coaching in a simple way. I've taken a lot from this book which I can apply to my work, but mostly the mindset you could have while coaching, being coached or working with coaches. I would recommend it to everyone who is working with people, leading teams or working on their own performance.

One of the very best tools I've got on coaching. I liked Myles' simplicity and in-depth description of the process of helping clients to achieve results. Highly recommended.
